Re: Zero is one of the most interesting isekai anime that has come out in the past few years. The story revolves around Natsuki Subaru being transported from Earth to a new world and he is granted one simple power: "Return By Death". Subaru must use this newfound power to save those he cares about, such as Emilia, Rem, Ram, Petra, Otto and Garfiel and more.
Who is Satella and why did she grant subaru this power? What is the motivation behind the witch cult which have members such as Petelguese the sin archbishop of sloth? These are some of the questions I'll tackle on this channel, I hope you enjoy it and most importantly also enjoy season 1 and season 2 of Re: zero and hopefully it does well enough to warrant a third season covering arc 5 (Season 3 re: zero).

Quick correction it's abel at the end that realises whats inside subaru and not Ublik, thanks to ice for the correction.
Abel must have known that there was something there and that is why he wanted Subaru to stay in child form longer. But how? And no matter how much Abel bullies Subaru he can never tell Abel... So at some point Abel and Subaru may fight over this and then Subaru will have to give Abel some reasoning that satisfies Abel's curiosity enough to let it go...

@@whatever2144 well, she didn't harm Roswaal, who was responsible for his first ~20 loops, which included rabbits. So there's no reason to assume she'll punish Olbart for anything but disclosing her secret.
Having said that, I'd like Olbart to recieve some "special treatment" from her.

ok so, the things that impressed me in the chapter are:
1) abel actions and words went instantly worse when subaru isnt there
2) abel must have some information of the condition he needs to fulfill to regain the throne, probably thanks to ulbrik advices (he mentioned medium appearance and al appearance)
3) satella popped up, which is a very good sign, because it means not only she will knew what happened to him, but can also reset subaru to the checkpoint and nullify olbart infantization or alternatively, making sure his rbd take precedence over al power this time.
Abel is an inferior version of subaru tbh. a version that gives up when it is too hard and is willing to sacrifice.
And subaru already used RBD in his shota form, the checkpoint was during olbart's discussion about the game, so i'm not sure if the N 3) can be right by now.
@@christophervasques4510 adding to this, the witch also warned subaru not to speak of RBD when he says they'll be attacked outside of the inn, so she knew where he was prior to visiting the castle for the second time.

Ok so that confirms two things, first that it wasn't return by death. The second is that Satella really can do whatever the fuck she wants; that's probably bad tho because other people have seen her now and that's just not gonna go over well for Subaru i don't think, but hey at least we get more Satella this arc. I also remember leaving a comment about Envy not wanting to sit around do jack shit if she doesn't know where Subaru is and it's good to see i was right.
EDIT: abel said "ah so that's what was inside of you" probably confirming that Subaru holds the envy witch factor.

If this isn't a throw away loop, then Subaru might be in long-term trouble. Here's why:
- Satella appeared in the Pleiades watchtower previously
- Now she shows up again in Chaos Flame.
If the Emilia camp learns about it, it won't be hard to connect the dots: the common denominator between the said two events is Subaru's presence. They might even become slightly suspicious of this and demand he explains.
Even if many in the Emilia camp don't question it, or they trust Subaru enough not to suspect him, there are many smart characters in this world that know coincidences like that don't just happen, and someone's gonna connect the dots.
i mean, emilia never properly questioned subaru about how he knew puck's name before they even met (which saved her fucking life) LOL
Satella appearend in Arc 6 because she noticed how Subarus body was taken over by a unknown entity & his soul/mind was stuck in Od lagna with the original Louis.
Hence why she went berserk.
Well, i don't think they would be that suprised tbh, they know he's met the witch of greed and that he even seem to be treating it somewhat trivially and the others know about echidna and therefore have a connection to a particular witch so its not too far fetched for them if subaru was also tied to another witch somehow, albeit the witch of envy. Hell, i don't know how it went down in the light novel but in the webnovel Emilia even seemed to know that subaru had the sloth witch factor since she recognised invisible providence as being the same thing guese used.
Almost everyone outside of the Emilia camp however, would be shocked since he is the guy that's been taking down witch cult executives and now revelaed to have connections to the witch.
I mean this might be the time to bring back the Talks about Subaru being a sage candidate

Finally, things are picking up. This is definitely my favorite volume of arc 7.
I feel like saying Subaru use AL's ability is wrong. We know from previous chapters that Satela didn't know where Subaru was. We also know that when he turned into a child his od was changed. My theory is that because his od was changed Satela lost track of him but since they are still connected she vaguely was able to sense his presence and knew his was dying and since she didn't know where he was dying checkpoints where messed up and caused 10 seconds of hell.
Didn't he already use RDB as a child while in the inn attacked by Obart? So, his child form should have no effect on RDB.

I think he will. He is preparing to release the Volume convering these chapters soon, and I think this is a decent enough cliffhanger for him to end the Volume on. We'll just have to wait a while longer to see what happens next... 😖

Abel is the only person in the whole anime who reacts sensibly to all the strange things Subaru says and does. I hope he is the first person to figure out rbd.

@@MonoReaper I think if Abel figured it out on his own he's safe. The punishment and her showing up only happens when Subaru himself intents to reveal RbD or someone like Louis tried to take it away.
Echidona already figured it out even before Subaru told her, but I would also like to mention that WoE actually showed up during Subaru's 1st trial which could be a counter argument to this. Perhaps WoE also detects when other people starts doing something weird with Subaru's memories. This should be different enough if Abel figure it out just by observing and studying Subaru. This is of course very dangerous because RbD is Subaru's trump card, if someone realized what it does and recognize it as a threat, they could just seal him away.

I called it she will be pissed. She was really worried about him as soon as she was able to come back. She was on it. And I figured he knew envy on a personal level. So as soon as he actually felt her pull up to the scene he was like nope.
I don't want this event to be instant desctruction. When he starts up again with the new chapters, I want some points of view from the people who get to observe Satella. Also, I wonder if this coming out of Satella is gonna make Subaru not grow up. Like, what if he accidentally concludes "Satella came out when Olbart undid my childhood curse, now I cant let him undo it."
we already saw a few points of views. The Emperors guard sgit himself. The Emperor got scared. Abel bit his lip and made a really contorted face and said "so this is what you were hiding subaru" Am screamed more than anyone in the city. Medium got scared, Ulbirk said "well this was unwritten". Yorna protected Louis. Those are all the reactions you could've asked for I think.
Tappei said that he didn't plan this chapters, so lets hope it wasn't for nothing

I'm guessing that Satella usually comes out when Subaru dies and resets when not being directly connected kinda like when in the sanctuary trial and the tower, and perhaps instead of Al's ability triggering it this time, it's instead location based with the current castle being Yonah's territory with the soul pact being the cause.
If that loophole and leap of logic stands and is similar to Echidna's sanctuary, I wonder if it would be possible to tell Yonah about return by death without the heart clenching while in the castle.
I love one thing about this series. Some readers were complaining around 42-45 coz they thought this arc was not going anywhere and was giving fanservice and tappie really said SIKE to them.
This arc is definitely up there along side arc 5 , not arc 6 coz I am waiting for whole arc 7 to complete to give a judgement.
I was starting to wonder when the sike would come, ngl I was worried, let's hope it keeps ramping up just like arc 6 did
well I dropped this at ch 39(latest ch of vol 28 ln I think) cuz it got very boring, I checked the latest ch of arc 7 out of curiosity and god damm ch 54 already? and the last ch of vol 29+ Satella(probably she is WoE but still) this is amazing. But I sworn I will never pick the wn again until I read all of my paper re0 ln (current progress 1/20) so yea cant wait to pick it up again whenever that would be.
@@dorianpompa8409 i think that's one of the many problems many readers faced . Every arc till now had an continuation of previous arc except arc 5 which took place 1 year later. This arc also had new characters which was already a risky play on tappie's side coz many people would not like them or say that they want Emilia camp back but tappie still made it so interesting and I think it was building up to this point for tappie to Snap out. He is a fuckin sadist so he teased us with boring chapter to lay out a bed and then booom , now we are here and I am sure from this point to the end of arc 7 , subaru and us readers will not get rest .

Ok thoughts on this chapter. The interaction between Olbart and Subaru's Od basically lighting a barrel of gun powder. Though this is very informative as it means that the authority abilities might be directly linked to ones Od.
Also this makes the third person to set the witch of envy off. I think this has to be the witch of envy and not Satella. Both Satella and the witch of envy love Subaru, its just that the witch of envy personality is the possessive Yandere of the two. The other two who set the witch of envy off to where she would directly attack Subaru and anything and everything around him where Echindna the witch of greed during arc 4 at the sanctuary after Subaru broke the taboo of revealing information of return by death to Echindna. The second was at the Pleiades Watchtower in arc 6 after Subaru had been infested by one half of Louis Arnebs soul/Od/Witch factor trying to take return by death.
The question i still have is Od in this universe the lifeforce or is Od the "Soul". Because so far Authority are described as something unrelated to magic + above the laws of the world sticking to the Hosts Soul.
Because from Rosewalls thing there are also things such as "Soul Vows".
So it kinda boggles my mind as magic seems to be a natural engery in this world that is all around them. While Od is the lifeforce that can also be used to cast Magic.
Similar to Black & White mages use of aether/mana to cast spells.
Theory: Al's authority had suppressed Subaru's authority. According to the information I have seen, Al's authority works before you die. So RBD never happened to Subaru. But when Olbart touched Subaru, it might have ended up like how Petelguese came into Subaru's shadow garden (not sure if it was shadow garden). The suppressed authority of Subaru might have been released because Olbart's ability might be knowing a person's history as he undo his Jutsu.
Able: Able might have been suspecting Subaru's relation to a Witch. Things happened what he feared and he bit his lips with the disappointment.
Edit: Don't read first 2 comments as they were made for my 1st Theory which made no sense. The above is new theory.
Wtf Subaru's gate has to do with anything, Authorities are not determined by one's prowess in using magic or whether they have a well maintained Gate. What is this even, and two different Satellas? Wut

@@KàirosStygian well in arc6 we find out that every person has a little dimension cut off from the world which exist inside the od (anastasia staied inside there for a few weeks), and so the shadow garden is probably inside subaru od. so if olbert altered subaru od then rbd wont be able to function correctly i guess.

I'm betting Subaru won't die from this. Maybe we'll have the Bloody Fall succeeding the Bloodless Fall... Regardless, I feel this is a good moment to create some permanent strain on Subaru's relationships, upping the stakes by revealing a clear connection to the Witch to his companions, but not revealing RbD. Whether he survives depends on whether he can pacify Satella in some way and put the genie back into her bottle.

@@gelatogremlin Yesss. I think a "Subaru on the run" plot would be really interesting! Having all that good reputation fall on top of him by for example being the cause of some great tragedy instead of always being just a casualty of his failure to deal with external factors-- and rise out of that stronger in the end. Subaru never quite had to deal with being a danger to others because he's posed as the weakling, even though he's obviously a walking timebomb.

Honestly Aldebran screaming could mean 2 things. Due Abels comment that he is to scared to be alone & his previous statements: Aldrebran is scared shitless because if he dies HE DIES for real as he implied his Authority/Death Field doenst work + him being a child he cant defend himself.
The other thing is the hint that he somehow is involved with Satella a. o. Pandora. referenced in the extra storys where he completly broke down upon seeing a certain "woman/girl" in a hallucination mist spell/thing.
Ngl while Abel has some cool moments. He seems more and more like a incompetent spoiled nobleman. I hope Tappei can twist it again and reveal some kind of long con game of Abel but so far he seems like nothing but empty words.
I think we are literally at a turning point because this time is really special for Satella to show up. The other 2 times she was angry(Arc6)/jealous(Arc4).
But now? Its a mix between fear & wrath. There is only so much a yandere archetype can do to hold back before she explodes. So whatever happens she will change the game so that Subaru wont be in such a danger again where RbD cant reach him/protect him.
Which once again implies that RbD & Satella are deeply connected to Subaru and withouth Satella sending his soul back to the save point it wont work. (Makes me wonder once again if Lugania wasnt the "real starting point for Subaru" but a lot of different things happend before that for Satella to literally implant herself inside of his soul along the Shadow Garden realm. Only that he doesnt remember anything about these events)
Maybe we will finally get some answer`s to the mysterys of Re:Zero. (I think Tappei mentioned Aldebrans plot will be resolved in Arc 8? Correct me if i am wrong!)
The Oldbart lines make me wonder if he can somehow sense the witch miasma which is why he decided prior chapters to kill Subaru because he thought he is affiliated with the Witch Cult.
Like some sort of Ki? It would explain his psychopatic bevhaior regarding his bloodlust to kill Subaru. Because his last line suggest he already suspected/felt something from Subaru that made him very suspisous of him.

PS: Sadly this also confirms for me that Louis will join camp Emilia because of how he already formed a stronger bond/relationship with her than freaking Shaula. (Yes i am still salty af ;D)
The only questions are will Louis regain all her memories & will the Gluttony Factor devlopment inside Subaru move foward? Because the hints are there that the Gluttony Factor/Subarus authority over it is tied to Louis (makes sense as its literally Louis split Factor) aka Lolimancer theme that Tappei weirdly loves so much again.
Gotta Catch them all Poke-................No seriously the things regarding how Louis gained Lunar Eclipse was the same vague/crawling clues-narrative before Subaru used Invisible Providence in Arc 4 aginst Garfield & Arc 6 with Greed turning into Cor Leonis.
Subaru was in a highly emotional state. He felt very weird/had odd behavior + memory problems (Gluttony thing regarding memory) & then when he touched Louis she regained part of her powers.

TLDR: Subarus own WF is pride. Satella still has her Envy WF because her body is immortal thus she doesnt die. (But her soul & thus her WF is inside Subarus soul/OD space in form of the Shadow Garden)
Subarus authority is the Death Field itself/the Territory + Envys authority combined with Subaru makes checkpoints and thus RbD is born. Its a combination of their 2 Witch Factors.
How does Aldebran fit into all of this? Aldebran has the Pride WF as well + Satella "loved" him in the past at some point so he had RbD as well. (If Aldrebran is in some form, shape or way a version of Subaru or not is a topic in itself. Because we also have the case of Shaulas claims regarding that Subaru is Flugel even if his body is different)
Aldebrans past history with "Satella"(Implied at the very least due the Extra Chapters) plus his reaction to her apparence right know add up with his trauma + similar mental breakdown he had when the mist showed him the silver haired woman.
Why did Subaru "lose" RhD? (Explains the short intervals between the loops). If the whole thing due Olbarts ninjutus aka them turning into kids changed their "OD" in some way. Ergo prevented Satella from inside his OD-Space(Shadow Garden) to properly connect/interact with him. Thus only his Territory authority as the Pride wielder works.
Why would Aldebran not be able to use it anymore? This may me a misch-masch conflict between Subarus & Aldebrans authoritys/Pride Factors: Subaru may have stronger affinity/Pride(As Echidna said in arc 4 Subaru has a high affinity for EVERY Witch Factor and that makes him a "Sage candidate") Factors thus he takes over the Territory Aldrebans sets up which is why his own Territory doesnt work for himself but for Subaru.
Explaining the 10second loops as Aldrebran in prior chapters set up a Territory in Fox Ladys castle & had fought with a Divine General)

Olbart said earlier in the arc that being turned into children caused their abilities not work as well which explains why RBD has been on the fritz. Satella also only appeared when Olbart went to return Subaru to adulthood which would restore RBD and presumably his connection with Satella.
Problem is what subaru said He heard satella saying were are you I cant find you etc. Also its just speculation but Subaru himself said he didn't not feel like he was returning by death it felt like he was just looping no shadow garden. Remember subaru has a weird way of being immune to authorities effects. Remeber unseen hands he couldn't see it before in his first loop and his second one he was able to see it. Whose to say he not gaining some sort of resistance to al debran authority

i didnt realize it immediately but, the show did showed us the information we needed to understand subaru rbd wont be triggered after the curse. here are the info, one by one:
1) in arc6 we learn that anastasia mind is sleeping inside her od
2) as long as she stays in here the athority of glottony cannot affect her
3) inside every person od there is a small dimension disconected from the world and its rules
4) subaru of course has such a dimension
5) before subaru dies his soul get grasped by satella and moved to his shadow garden
6) satella resides inside subaru shadow garden
7) subaru is connected to his own od, which contains the shadow garden, in which satella resides, though out the place rbd works
Now, what happen if subaru od is modified in any way? well, the connection wont work properly, so rbd wont be able to trigger nor satella will be able to normally bring him in the shadow garden. therefore the only way to do so is for her to phisically apper and swallow him.
now, finally, if subaru authority generally has the precedence over Al power, now that rbd doesnt trigger only Al power remain active.
Satella coming out might not be his Od but i think Olbart's hand ability. Satella would always be coming out anyways if that was the problem and Subaru will never become normal.

Which explains finally how she can bypass the seal. Her immortal body may rest somewhere else but her soul & Witch Factor is inside of Subarus Soul. Now we only have to figure out what exactly RbD is :D^^.
I am still trying to wrap my head around the concept of OD and magic because OD seems to be the lifeforce while magic seems to be a natural element in this world/ yet there is difference between the natural engery you use for magic and hte "lifeforce/OD" you can use for magic
Kinda like how Black Mages in Final Fantasy use thier own lifeforce as ather to cast spells while White Mages use the energy of nature etc.

A - subaru's RBD returns and his save point is updated to the point he gets it back. Subaru has to die once so that the witch of envy gets subaru's memories.
B - RBD returns but Al's authority remains and when he dies he gets sent back to before Obart undoes the curse resulting in him having to chose to be a shota.

Maybe, she is doing what Louis did in the watchtower: one part of her (say the WoE) is sealed in her shrine, and the other (Satella) is within Subaru, in his Od. Or maybe there is no WoE in the shrine anymore. It would explain how Satella is always there for Subaru (indirectly - administering RbD, and directly - appearing like now).
Maybe it’s not even Subaru collecting witch factors, but Satella to regain her powers, or revive Flugel within Subaru, or something more crazy...

So I'm thinkin Al will get his ability back when they turn back into adults again. I thought that Al might have been near by before and Subaru was witnessing the ability in action but it seems I was off the mark on that. Somehow, Subaru was more qualified for the witch factor this time around. What I don't understand is how Subaru might have gotten the exact same ability since the rest of them had been different from owner to owner. And how exactly did Subaru get it in the first place since the author said authorities can't be simply transferred? Guess I'll have to wait for that theory video because I might have missed some details. I'm thinking that Satella is here just for this loop and Subaru will die again. Her staying around would mean two things: 1.) Subaru is suffocated in shadows and crazy "I love you"s 2.) She brings Subaru back from Vollachia. The last one makes no sense because it's only slightly too early to wrap things up in this country. If the first one comes true, how would he die? Bitting his tongue? Or does some outside force try to strike at the witch and somehow hit Subaru? Either way, I don't think she'll end up causing trouble for our mans (at least not for very long). If she went on a rampage, everyone besides him would die no doubt, just like in arc 4. And after that lil bout of separation anxiety she just got, there's no way she doesn't smother Subaru. So he'll have to die to get out of that more than likely. Plus, Subaru is already in some pretty hot water with his current party because of Louis being a brain dead, former devil. I don't think the Witch of Envy will add onto our boy's problems because of what he's already going through. Though, I could see how she will be in the future since things like what happened at end of last arc are bound to happen more often. The Witch is sick but she does care for him in a possessive way. She doesn't want anyone breaking her property so I don't think she'd actively create a situation where people would be hostile to Subaru. In fact, that's probably why she hasn't helped him past having a hand in him getting RBD. If she appeared whenever he was in danger, he'd be immediately outed as a villain and hunted. So all of that being the case, what was her motivations for bringing him to Vollachia? Clearly, it wasn't seen as a positive by anyone so it doesn't look like she's helping him. Maybe she somehow was helping him by setting up the means for him to get close to the true emperor and eventually getting Vollachia's backing for Emilia. But I doubt that. Envy hates Emilia and just wants Subaru to love her. So, was Subaru in danger somehow? Or is there something that he needs to do in this country to further her ends (probably fully escaping her confinement)? Either way, I'm just pumped to see where the story goes from here.
Ice insists on his theory that Subaru wasn't using Al's ability, and the messed up loop was due to Satella feeling sadness instead of love.
However this chapters prove to me beyond doubt that Subaru somehow got Al's abilities when they became kids and couldn't use RbD. Since he couldn't use it, Satella couldn't sense him or find him, hence the "Where are you?" from a couple of chapters back. When Olbart transformed Subaru back into normal, the interference from Al's ability and Subaru's altered Od disappeared, and Satella immeadiately found him, and rushed to his aid thinking something must have happened to him.
Problem is, how would he then get normal? That would happen every time he becomes normal. That would happen even if becomes normal without Olbarts hand.
@@konoveldorada5990 That's the thing, Abel stated that he need Subaru to keep as a child. So probably Subaru will somehow die while Satella is rampaging. Then this time RbD will truly activate, and he will be back before Olbart turned him to normal, which now he will hesitate to be back to normal again.
Jackez mentioned in this video, but we still don't know for sure if Satella share the same memories as Subaru. In any event, Subaru will remain as a child and temporarily lose RbD, and Abel will be happy.
Now for when he eventually returns to normal... Even if Satella share Subaru's memories she would be pretty pissed to have her connection with him severed for a long time and once again rampage.
I believe Subaru will try to use Satella somehow, and along with that, someway to contain her. If he knows she's coming, he can make some kind of plan. We gotta wait and see...

Able's reaction can be his suspicion on Subaru's and his relation to a Witch, which ended up to be true, OR his worries about Yorna and other plans being completely destroyed.

We don't know for sure but I'm 90% sure it's because Subaru as a child is much more easier for him to manipulate. Child Subaru is more impulsive and blurts things out too (like the Louis thing). Maybe he wants to make sure he can get all the information he can out of Subaru.

I knew it... I just knew it. I called it. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that called it. Subaru's going to have kill himself because this would have cause a worldwide panic with Saetalla appearing before everyone.
Even if Saburu could calms Saetalla Down.... it would have caused massive Panic unless they agree to Stay Silent.. which i doubt.. Saburu is lightly going to kill himself and hope he goes back far enough. But is that even reasonable considering that Saetalla would be searching for him all over again... so it's very likely that killing himself would make the situation even worse.... which means he has to kill himself and refuse to turn back to normal because.. the major downside is that saetalla would likely become even more desperate looking for him the longer He Remains a Child
Either he Deal with the reality he's currently and that is only possible if he's able to calm her down... or he killed himself and says he will remain a Child a Bit longer... there's a huge possibility that say Saetalla would set her sights on Olbert because Saburu needs him to go back to normal.
