When the Developers Are Also Fans of AC

- I was already in awe of the care and detail that Bordeaux put into Assassin's Creed Mirage during development. When I played the game I could feel the love these devs had for the franchise. Everything about the game (that was in their control), was perfectly tailored to satisfy the cravings of a fan that had been starved and fed breadcrumbs over the better part of the last decade. I was happy to see that I could actually play as an assassin AND do assassin things all in one game (I know, revolutionary).
I was already convinced that Ubisoft Bordeaux understood me. They understood what I wanted, and more importantly WHY I wanted it. It's a studio that doesn't need us to explain why assassins are cool, why stealth is a great playstyle, or why the visual aesthetics of a brotherhood assassin are so fun to play with and look at. But with this update that everyone's been going crazy over, I finally get why they understood me. They are also fans of AC.
There are some pretty standard but lovely additions here like a new game plus that was much needed for a game like Mirage. Playing through early missions with all your gear to experience the story again is an absolute joy to the soul. But what has really impacted me is the fact that the devs listened to feedback about back ejects and side ejects...and improved them. For Ubisoft to even acknowledge that there is such a thing as side and back ejects is impressive in itself. For them to listen to the fans and directly improve it is an act of god. Or in this case, an act of Bordeaux, which until the foreseeable future when my hype dies down, is god as far as I'm concerned. It's crazy we're getting this kind of thing in 2023 when many of us had long abandoned hope that a studio would care about niche assassin's creed things. but here we are
I am also amazed that they will be adding permadeath mode, which is something that every AC has always needed. This further highlights the point I've made here, but I'll go on a separate rant for that in January.
Hope you enjoy this stealth video of an early mission that I loved playing my first time, that I got to enjoy with a maxed-out assassin. oh, and the Bayek outfit is top 3 outfits in the game, so happy I get to have this eye candy here now too.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2020's Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Bayesian outfit is lit
Loved the interview and lit watching fans talking to each other it’s nice to see
Insane skill and talent with stealth and movement going together
Can’t wait for Rosina’s it’s lit whate on red on it and already more detail
Bayek’s outfit fits so well on Basim, the whole game feels like a sequel to origins that way
100% mirage is goated now
Exactly
Bayek’s outfit sucks
I don’t want to play as white bayek
@@khanghua966 Basim isn’t white
Bordeaux deserved all the supports they get, keep the momentum on and one or two years from now we might get to see a second AC game from them, maybe they'll jump in on that AC4 remake that everyone was talking about, who knows
Lets hope!
I prefer an actual ac game from them, like mirage, not a pirate simulator.
@@Thesuvification black flag remake is already happening anyways
@@Thesuvificationme when I didnt understand the story of black flag:
@@yesno6732 what if ubisoft would make this remake where the STORY ofnedward kenway was extended up to his death...not upto his meeting his daughter...
new parkour updates made me enjoy the game even more
Same
This is such a huge game changer. For the first time I'll remember the individual Studio responsible for creating such a fun game in a franchise that i love. Bordeaux has managed not only put themselves on the map but they also managed to outshine the previous teams with not only delivering what the fans wanted but they listened improved upon it based on feedback. Hopefully this pushes the other Ubisoft teams to learn from them. The team behind Mirage raised the stakes of what it means to love and care for the project you care about and I'm praying the other teams learn from them.
Glad everyone is supporting them
They deserve all the love and support
This game should have a mission replay feature. Especially the assassination missions
I agree with you
That whole sequence from 1:45 is brilliant, but the slowmo tripmine explosion was sublime. Was it something you managed to do consistently?
No lmao that was the heavens appearing before me
Every Ubisoft studio should be like Bordeaux, giving the Fans what they want. I hope were getting a DLC or A sequel with Basim going to Constantinople and meet Sigurd
One would hope
Agreed. Beardaux has pretty much done nothing wrong. In one game, they gained more trust than we had for Ubisoft
@@QuatarTarandir imagine what they had done with more money and time
@@DuFFxGhOsT And without valhalla's engine
@@ps5.gamer.71 I think it’s not the engines fault I mean we thought bc of the engine we can’t get side ejects and back ejects back,so my guess is with more time they could have make the parkour like the older games.
But that’s what i think
First time seeing developers putting aside their ego and taking inspiration from a modder. The new ejects are now more polished & functional than the mod.
I was there when they first reacted to the reddit post of the mod and now they've implemented it.
W developers.
wonderful to see
Three of my four tenets of a good Assassin's Creed game are all here: The plot focuses on the Assassin vs Templar conflict, the stealth system is robust and consistent, and the map design is urban and dense enough that it lends itself to lots of opportunities. The only aspect I find lacking in AC Mirage is the parkour, which has been GREATLY improved with this update. To top it all off, Bordeaux gives us New Game + on a game previously so dependent on linear upgrades. Friends, we've got ourselves a winner in the replayability department. This easily makes my top 5 AC games.
this game already goes crazy with the combos you can do and the gadgets you can utilize, but just imagine how AC Red finna be with the prone mechanics, hiding in the shadows and all that stuff... im already hyped AF
Its such a dope game
I feel the studio has a thing for Bayek, the hidden one outfit is already based off his outfit, including the sickle sword that you can get, and the zanj uprising outfit also reminds me of Bayek's outfit a bit
probably just easier to port
Probably the cleanest mirage gameplay i have seen❤
❤️❤️
I feel like if Ubisoft Bordeaux was given permission and a full budget to make a new assassins creed game, they’d give Bayek a sequel, they’re clearly fans of the character, considering out of all the characters outfits they could have brought to the game it was Bayek’s
they probably would have
I'm just loving the fact that the developers are just finally listening to us. Hopefully they can just keep this us while we have more AC games to come! (Your runs go crazy each time keep it up)!
Lets hope!
the outfit goes so well on Basim i thought this was origins for a second lol
he fits it perfectly
Only if they truly allowed you to explore Alamut Castle freely is my only issue for the most part with this game
I wouldve liked that too
As soon as I heard of the update I wanted to see you make a video on it
Here it is!
Bordeaux Origins sequel?
wouldn't even be mad at that
@@AltairStealth 💯
sure as hell hope they give us a rome game
Incredible 💞
Btw out of topic
Whoever modeled Basim's physique is a genius
Well developed biceps and brachiodalis (upper forearm) and slightly underdeveloped triceps indicates basim does a lot of hanging and pull up and muscle up moves,
He also has well developed Latissimus dorsi (back muscle) one of the main muscle that engage during pulling up moves.
From now on, assassin's creed should focus on making a game that would look good on gameplay montage or tiktok/shorts/reels etc. Making social media as their indirect advertisement.
Just let the player cook
Just. Let. The player. Cook. 💪
One thing that I think would make the game so much more realistic is to make it so the NPC's don't stop what they are doing before you assassinate them. 1:41, 1:55, 2:23 are a couple instances I've noticed so far. Though I'd imagine it would be difficult animation-wise.
yeah defo rough around the edges
i agree 100 percent. it’s like they sit there and accept the fact that ur about to kill them
The new parkour system is insane, all we are missing now is better replayability like more contracts
I agree repayable contracts would be amazing
As I've been saying all along I knew Bordeaux would have to be stupid not to add the new parkour advancements
Also manual jumping
The assassination contracts were my favorite, i dont get why they arent replayable tbh
Insane is a serious overstatement. It’s mediocre at best
i couldn't help but keep thinking bayeks outfit looks weird but i think i finally came to the conclusion. basim doesn't have a shield and two bows on his back that u have to do a glitch to remove
Exactly
This game is a great homage to the classics that came before, but I wish they would re-make the OG Assassin's Creed. It would be cool if there were new gameplay ever
I would have loved that
I hate it when the enemies pause before the assassination it seemed there is missing frame where they just stop everything they do and stand still until the assassination is finished
Yeah its annoying
I think what kills the flow of stealth is that 1 second that Basim and the enemy stays still and then the game decides which animation is going to play. If the game had a lot more hidden blade animations like in Unity, that would't be too noticible. Same thing with the executions in combat
I agree its ver immersion breaking
this mission is a great example of why they need to let this team make a full length entry, or why we at least deserve Mirage dlc 😭
This Christmas is gonna be great for young AC fans like myself
Enjoy!!
I never thought 1:23 was a thing 🙃
😎😎
It’s such a great game people that don’t like it just aren’t playing it right
I honestly agree
Dead ass
Mirage is waiting in my library and I still hesitated to start with the game. It seems the time has come.
It has indeed my friend. Enjoy it
@@AltairStealth Yes indeed. I enjoy it. I'm very positive impressed halfway through the story. Less open combat, more stealth, more assassinations. That's the way I like.
His outfit is not bad. I would prefer his hidden one outfit though.
i would too
The combo with the 2 archers, OMG that is insane😂
Got lucky ngl
Ascending ejects for the win. Mirage is amazing with them now.
Yeah😍😍
Bordeaux is listening better than Montreal and that's saying alot
Its a weird turn of events
@@AltairStealth 2:03 was out of a movie.
HOW. HAVE. I. NEVER. thought of using the weight from the pulleys to kill guards??? They've been in this game since AC2 and I never knew they actually had a hitbox. How long has this been the case? Out of the hundreds of high-level AC gameplay videos I've watched, I've only now noticed it because you specifically lured the guards into it Well done as always.
If there ever is another Assassin's Creed movie, this is one of the key easy things to include during a split-second action sequence, to showcase that A. it's a classic AC setpiece for the longtime fans to ogle over B. it shows the assassins are crafty at using nothing their environment and hidden blade to achieve their needs and C. it does double duty at eliminating their pursuers.
I think you can do it ain all games
I wish Bayek's outfit looked this good in his own game 😂
😂😂
AC Origins 2.0 is officiall now.
Literally
2:04 so fucking cool
Thanks!
Amazing these videos are a treat to my eyes🙌
Glad you like them!
nice kills man, ur videos are great! 👍
Thank you!
I wish it actually had a completely new reworked movement and stealth system instead of copy pasted assets from Valhalla
i mean thats a tough ask
Amazing video!!
thank you!
The guards should alert all the guards after finding someone dead. It would increase the importance of stealth.
I agree
The team behind Odyssey did a pretty good job an I felt like only if the combat was better the game would of been a masterpiece the story an side quest was great it was but the team around Mirage really out did themselves this is a game changer that the other studio could learn from an realizing thinking bout the fans an putting love an caring to the game cause origin was amazing the story was great I connected with bayek an felt his grief
Tbf the post launch was good
Im curious on how AC Red is going to be, knowing it's the odyssey team behind it
Im nervous
@@AltairStealth They better not mess this one up cuz japan has to be one of the coolest setting for AC
Imagine a group of ninjas coming after you in a battle of parkour.
Hell, imagine the main character as a ninja/assassin hybrid
The speed is like ac revelations on steroids
lmao
nice vid. Just got the game on sale with the promocode and been enjoying it. Did you stick to default controls or change it at all?
I changed them to run on right trigger
Basim moves so slow man, hope they speed up the running a bit
he is a tad slow
really? I thought that Basim looked way faster here than when I played the game before the update
The game looks super flashy and fun but why is every guard so slow like I think older games had much more alert guards or is it just my perception?
Nah ur right its easy af
Is it me or basim feels faster after update?
Nah just jumps
I liked the bayek outfit but only 2 Assassins fit it well, Bayek and Connor
and basim
I hope they wear Aguilar's outfit
Same
Thought it was origins at the start of the video
It pretty much could be
me at the downfall of montreal and quebec when bordeaux takes over the whole series because they actually care 🤵
😎😎
Do contracts reset when you start NG+? I don't want to do them again haha
they do but u odnt have to do them u already have all the rewards
@AltairStealth That's fair. I wanna start NG+ for the new challenges and bayek outfit. What else resets? Is it only contracts or do stuff like treasure maps or derwish artifacts come back too?
@@Dachios You already have chests and dervis artifacts unlocked if you did this in prievous save
is it just me or is the audio delayed?
is it?
RTX 3060 can play this game at 4K?
probably not
@@AltairStealth Then how is your video at 4K quality
u also have RTX 3060 (video description)
Great question actually, it seems for me too that his 2160p videos are somekind of a fake 4K quality like he exports them as 4K even tho capture resolution seems lower to me(and weird 50fps also)🤷
I'm guessing there's no mods left in this game right?
some
Can someone explain full depth in permadeath mode
If you die at any point in the game, you reset to the beginning of the game and lose everything.
What difficulty are you on? Takes the guards like ten seconds before you get detected lol
Normal!
@@AltairStealth gotcha. I actually turned it up to hard for the last half of the game and am so glad I did. Not bragging or anything (I suck at video games lol) but normal was just way too easy for me. On hard you get detected in like one or two seconds and can only take about three hits before you die as well, so it basically forces you to play full stealth to be extra sneaky. If you have no trouble with normal difficulty (clearly you’ve mastered it), I’d recommend at least playing a few missions on hard. It’s not a huge huge difference but it does make you go full assassin stealth and adds just another layer of fun (to me). Try it out on new game+!
I feel like the fabrics of the suits lack more physicality.
I have a problem with my mirage enemies keep popping back up after I already kill them how do i fix it? Im on ps5 btw
no clue that sounds rough
1:40 Ooooooo
😎😎
You love to see it
XD
Best AC
A classic
The developers are fans of money bruh, I don’t blame them making the same game with a slightly different story for 10 years straight gets boring for the developers AND THE PLAYERS!
Let go
@@AltairStealth that is the most agreeable response anyone has ever given me
The developers are not "Fans of AC" they abandoned it long ago and it will never come back, no matter how much they try to "go back to its roots"
is ng plus great ?
ng plus is great
Origin looks more good
Yeah origins is better
I wish you walked more in some cases but it would add maybe 5 minutes more to it. maybe 3 minutes.
Can the game be played without any strange outline effect? It's a pity the game has some strange sounds added to it. But wow.. it's not that bad, sure it's not at the level of Unity, but seems to accept immersive take to the game and the EXECUTION scene are not that bad, I thought they would be without taste and too intrusive even though theey feature that crossair I wish wasn't there, still not too intrusive due to its contextual shaped form. I don't like some of the unrealistic things you do like slides or else out of no where but this game rocks.
How many times you played it to execute this so well?
I am a no HUD player.. would play this first time as I do with games no HUD ... should take a few minutes or 1 h to learn all the systems I guess.
I am talking from a PC point of view.
teach me 🥵
;)
I hate Bayeks outfit.
Anyone that can relate?
nope
Nah
