    I have been watching your videos and is subscribed to your email list in your website, but I'm not checking it out.
    Then today, I stumbled to it. I didn't know the podcast was different from the videos...There was the Russian text and the English text and you went on explaining them. It's just so good!! I just see the effort and passion you put in your work.
    Thanks for that! Большое спасибо!
    I think I would be learning Russian language with it.

    Thanks for clarification between vi and ti. Many years ago when I was in Odessa and I was going to company's office in Odessa City from Odessa Port in a Car with the driver and the Manager of the Company. During this short period the Manager and driver started some arguments and which turned into an agressive debate and the Manager adressed the driver as ti who was about 5 years older than the Manager. My Russian is not good but I saw that driver was very angry and he told the Manager that why you are adressing me by ti as still we have not drank Vodka together therefore you must adress me as vi. Today I understood the meaning of this sentence.😊

    Same in India. we call "Aap" to elder people, relatives and to strangers and "Tum" or "Tu" for younger or same age people and friends. Both Aap And Tum mean "you" in English language.

    This reminds me of a story about a young Amish lad courting one of the local ladies. In that community they stuck to the old forms of English. While spending time with the lass on the porch, chaperon close by, he decided to strike up the courage to address her as "thou" instead of "you". Well, his boldness cost him dearly. She angrily shouted, "Thou little you. YOU!" And then stormed off the porch giving him a toss of her curls.

    Я и так русскоговорящий. Я вообще не понимаю, как я сюда попал... Но лайк поставлю)
    Keep going boys and girls! I believe you can learn our partly-terrifying language) Don't let the letters "Ы", "Ь", "Ъ", "Ж" and others to scare you. And never ask how to translate "to go" into Russian... Never! (Joke)

    It's same in Hindi like вы is आप 'aap' and ты is तुम 'tum' so I won't have problem using it

      Rose Ann Espinoza Please your entire tongue up to the roof of your mouth and make a oui sound with the little gap remaining on the sides of your mouth and then say it with the Т or the в depending on what you are trying to pronounce

    A lot of times in youtube videos (e.g. Voice Ukraine) I heard adults speaking to children in the BbI-form. Is this commmon when the child is older than - let's say 10 - years old or so?

    What is the difference between Bac and BbI?

  • @jimlabbe8258

    Wouldn't you also use Вы informally with friends and family if you are addressing a group of them? In other words for the second person plural. Thus in the same way you would use the formal imperative to a group of people (such as "платите!") even if they are children? Always been confused about this.

    • @RealRussianClub
      @RealRussianClub  8 лет назад

      sure, but we're not speaking about plural now. it's Вы and ты as the ways of addressing a person
