Because this gun will never show up ever again, players are obviously going to become attracted to it and ignore everything else they pick up
Ikr I love this gun. Disappointing we never see it again in any games. Not even in the new Orleans mission where they still have that pre Nazi occupation stuff in it I was hoping we would at least see some of the npc's use it at least but no. Seriously though the new Orleans mission was pretty cool.
I really appreciate this type of content - very specific. The Thompson is one of my favourite weapons, I like what they've done to it in the game.
And you only use for one mission? Why is it your favourite weapon?
@@coltforceplayer It always has been one of my favourite weapons, ever since the first COD games.
@@JJordanov945 oh ok
Nice gameplay vid!
I still think the idea of making the whole first chapter so different from the rest of the game really genius, and remains my favourite part in the whole game
Old Blood was also really good at showing that dystopic alternate history, and I wish we could've gotten more content centered around 1946 (though if we were to be realistic, we woud probably be playing losing battles haha)
I think they could go a little ways before 1946 and explore the alternative WW2 after it started to diverge from real world events, perhaps alt-1944 or 1945
I also think it works as meta text in the FPS genre; the warped dark reflection of Normandy landings we see in every other WWII game. A way to throw the player off.
Fun fact, this gun is kind of based off a real life version of the Thompson, during World War II, when American soldiers were trying to get a new weapon (which eventually was the M1 carbine) someone made a Thompson submachine gun that fired using .30 carbine rounds. Sadly, it never went anywhere. I think Bethesda got their idea based on that.
I think the idea of modding the new order to give you different weapons, and enemies at different times throughout the campaign would be brilliant.
Imagine going up against deathshead commandos, deathshead elite, and guard robots with an infinite ammo thompson.
Do it, I believe in you. I don't even know who you are, but now you're my hero
Wait, maybe exist a command for that. For example, i found a command to play New Order and Old Blood without HUD
I dont understand why this weapon dont appear in Old Blood. Shame.
I think it's mostly due to the "undercover operation" nature of the Old Blood's premise. Personally, I'd love another spinoff in 1946 where we could see more of the allied equipment like this and play around with it. Dieselpunk 1946 Garand or BAR would be dope
@@JackOfBlackPhoenix yeah, but later in the game you could find it at Kessler or Pipa safehouse.
@@ramirezrem Oh I do not remember that, I only remember that Fergus was wielding it in the final cutscene. Either way, even if it would be a minor plot hole it'd still be worth it I think. The gun is actually not that bad (though definitely inferior to Sturmgewehr '46) and it seems to be most effective in close quarters so it would be a great fit for the castle levels. But oh well...
Easily had the chance to hide it in secret areas because secrets are not Cannon and nobody would question it.
@@JackOfBlackPhoenix I think when BJ mentioned deathshead's ex-labs there's serious oppertunity for a prequel to the old blood with the thompson, and more old blood-esque gameplay.
Fun Fact: This Weapon is Exist in Real Life. called "Thompson Light Rifle" Which meant to US Answer To German's Sturmgewehr.
*Glad we never have to use this in war*
oh!!!!!very very good!!! i like this!!
One of the greatest fps of all time
I discovered his secret: used the console command to hide HUD.
Am I right?
Edit: Do u know about a command to spawn the Thompson?
How do you have no hud
I think that's a Thompson M1928,just not realistic.
True.
It’s supposed to be an experimental variant of the Thompson chambered in .30 carbine - note the box magazine and the larger shell casings.
I personally call it "Thompson M2A1" and "M1946A1"
Yeah the Thompson was modified to penetrate Nazi armour, yet it’s still worse than the Assault Rifle 1946
@coltforceplayer well America was losing the war badly their production was bad as Germany was bombing the US in their timeline so the guns sucked.
