MRAD is just very well designed. More and more of these out there these days with Barrett pushing more for hunting applications. Not a cheap investment but you get what you pay for. Putting a MK22 kit together when they were not available was a bit tough a year or so ago. Now pretty much everything is available to include the kit and in low volume, even the mil version optic. Still impossible for many of us to get ammo for 300 and 338 Norma so 308 at least for me needs to be default.
I have my in 260 Remington with a 24” inch carbon fiber barrel. 300NM with a 26” inch barrel and bought the rifle with a 338LM with a 24” inch barrel. Love mine.
Absolutely brilliant. Surprised at the fact that you're only changing bolt faces and not bolts, but with a bit of training it can be done in a few minutes.
Depends on your application, a lot of folks buy a 300 NM without the training or the range facilities to optimize its capability. The big advantages of a switch barrel is you only need one scope and when you barrel is shot out you can change it yourself
It is very similar. An advantage the Barrett has is the ability to swap barrels when you have MLOK attachments in place. The MLOK LMT's can be a bit annoying if you have many attachments in them.
Great video. I consider you to be a guru on 300 norma. Whats is the armys round count on 300 norma to let the barrel cool. I shoot about 10 eounds and its hot as crap. Supressor mirage starts and my muzzle velocity starts creeping up.
@@kevinowens9636 that's a very very good way of explaining it. Barrel or supressor mirage dictates. If you have mirage your barrel or supressor is to hot and stop shooting if you can. I pushed way past that not knowing and ended up having a strike on my supresor things got so hot. Bolt got heavy velocity shot up. Ane accuracy went bye bye

Man, when Barrett makes a rifle, they go all in and make an amazing one! This can use three different barrels correct?
on the mk22 package its shipped with 3 barrels yes. but there is 8 different calibers available. many barrels lengths and carbon also.

Great video Kevin. That’s a dream gun.
Love my MK22 deployment Kit. Great system!
Always excellent information
Great video. Keep em coming.
Do you think and mrad is worth the money compared to buying a custom 308 and seperate 300 norma?

It is insanely similar to the LMT MWS barrel change system

great video, to the point, great tips
Glad you enjoyed it!
How do you rezero without actually shooting?

Yeah, mirage usually dictates, lock the bolt to the rear, take the cover off and chill, there is no specific round count

I’d love to know what all the gear on the left side of the optic is!
it's a Heads Up Display (HUD) from Kestrel
I wonder how similar this is to LMT’s system
It reminds me of an AR
