THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SHOUTOUT!! Honestly my page at this point is just a fan account of yours, you helped me start everything and am so grateful for all the help you’ve given me along the way ❤ LOVE BTDS
Guys, I’ve got to say, without you two, this would have been a rough time for me to be a fan. The fandom is not in a good place and to have you two enjoy Star Wars so much, carry your channel the way you do, and to bring forward like-minded channels that aren’t worried about Star Wars not being exactly what they think is and focused on being negative is just more than I could have hoped for. You guys made this show enjoyable no matter what.
Really enjoying the content guys, glad to have found you 🤩 it’s always nice to listen to such relaxed, balanced conversation. Going to miss the weekly reviews!
I agree on the Yoda thing, not because I thought it was annoying or anything, it was more because what I really wanted to see was a last scene with Plageuis.
Apparently it was originally at the end and they changed it to not take away Osha’s ‘triumph’. Silly decision really as it sounds like the Mae/Osha storyline fell flat for a lot of people
I’m not listening to any other Plageuis theories from anyone else , you guys are so spot on for either side of the argument. LOVE THE EPISODE!! Personally my favourite of your discussions so far ❤
Fantastic video guys! Thankyou for existing and covering this show in such an elegant and friendly manner! I guess the show as a whole now gets a 8/10 action. 5/10 everything else. From a personal family emotional response the part where Osha choked Sol made me tear up. I thought Mae was gonna stop her but no she kind of half smiles? I agree i dont understand the twins motives at all. I understand their emotions but not the (specifically Mae's) end game.
"Watching and waiting... Commiserating! Say it ain't so I will not go, turn the Jedi lights off, Carry me home!" Love the Linkin Park/Michael Bay references! LONG HAVE I WAITED!
Great episode! Thought the finale was by far one of the best episodes in this season. Would be interested to watch it all back to back to see if that changes my opinion on the show. Looking forward to the live stream!!
I gather there is only enough life support for two people in Qimirs ship so Mae has to be left behind. The love interest is because Plaugueis told him to woe Oha so Plgueis can have their baby. The mind wipe may be something to do with the twins themselves some knowedge from Plaugueis because he helped the witches create them.
I really feel like Lesly thought the reason why people hated the sequels is because Rey and Kylo did not end up together. Then she went don’t worry I got yall !
Great point on theorizing a possible S2 being the show they actually want to make. Reminds me of Rings of Power - I personally felt S1 was a messy set up for folks who aren’t as nerdy with the lore with S2 looking more promising by seemingly containing the bulk of the actual story. Not a 1:1 ratio of course but I see what you mean with this show.
This whole season felt like fan fiction from the perspective of the moody edge lord who finally gets a girlfriend. SW finally has its Harley and Joker toxic relationship to idolize.
Dave kinda did the same thing during rebels where he would be like oh the reason palpatine is taking children is to create some cerebro thing and it's like why wasn't that in the show then??
But at what point were the Jedi as good as we used to believe? This show had a lot of emphasis on the Jedi being a corrupt and deeply flawed, unchecked power in the universe. At what point in the timeline are the Jedi the version we remember and liked and wanted to be like?
The "Kathleen Kennedy crying" thing came from an interview where LH mentioned KK... but she said the entire room of writers (not KK) cried but I don't think KK was there.
Great work lads! Very excited for the Beyond palette cleansing episodes! The force choke was just weird. Osha was so passionless and didn’t really do anything with her hand. Sol just sort of lay there he wasn’t event acting like he was struggling to breathe it was just weird
The hands on the shoulder thing, to me it means the Qimir was telling her that she's okay and that he is with her cause you know he is still trying to convince her to join her. but I have to agree, the last part was not it. The holding hands thing. And the force choke with no emotion at all has to be the worst thing they did cause I was waiting for that. I wanna see the full hatred shown on Osha's face cause at one point in her life she loved sol but none of it mattered because all along it was from the beginning Sol betrayed her. So the stone cold face is just not making it work
If they are the same person in essence, does that mean that a part they can neither be imbalance? That could tell you why they seem so conflicted and why they can’t achieve any type of balance in either the light or the dark. Because without the other, they aren’t a whole person.
I’ll tell you what, id be game for a season 2 with all new creatives behind the show. Im sorry, I do not trust these guys to write Plagueis. Even though he looked great.
Even though I was a big fan of This show it could’ve been a lot better if some of these episodes were combined. It would make the story flow a lot better, and it would’ve had a better reaction from the audience. But it didn’t unfortunately.
Feel like this episode if some of it happened sooner and we cut some unnecessary stuff out and had more of “the Sith” side of things more I think this could have been better. A lot of dialogue or decisions just aren’t great and just are there for plot moving. The action, all the fights were good and some really nice hand to hand and lightsaber combat. Sol was the best character then I feel they sorta dropped the ball with him these last 2 episodes. I want more of the story with the stranger/Qimir, obviously want to see what this Plagueis route will go and see more of the senator that showed up in this episode. The shows like a 5.5 to a 6.5/10. There’s a lot of good ideas or potential here but it’s not orchestrated well and falls flat. I want to like it but I can’t. There are things I do like within it, but it’s messy. Writing needs worked on at LucasFilm/Disney/Star Wars. Think they also need to quit the 8 episode stuff and just make it however many are necessary NOT just to hit 8 or stay at 8. Show finales always feel rushed.
What does a yellow lightsaber mean to you? To me a yellow crystal first showed up with the Temple guards Which is often a shift for Jedi at the temple. I figured when a crystal gets passed around enough or long enough it mellows out to yellow. I still think this because it fits with Rey’s lightsaber if she took the Crystal from Anakin’s saber. (Which is the impression I got from TRoS
I first encountered yellow lightsabers in Star Wars: The Old Republic, which is my favorite piece of Star Wars media canonicity be damned. But the real problem with lightsaber colors is even though we try to pretend they have a meaning, they really don't other than red=bad and not-red=good. It's actually kind of weird that yellow is generally associated with good guys, when visually it feels closer to red.
Speaking of "a lot of people watching" People are watching reactors like you guys... no one is watching the show. It was out of the top 10 of Neilsen for Episode 3 and that was the episodes people thought would be the highest because of the "this breaks Star Wars" narrative.
Hey guys, I’ve been a subscriber since your coverage of Ashoka. I have to say, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to listen to you guys. Totally respect fair criticism, but your show is becoming 1.5 hours of non-stop griping , nitpicking armchair quarterbacking. What I love about the pod is the two of you bringing your unique perspectives and discussion the show. A lot of your feedback towards the show is warranted, but from a viewers perspective- you can only hear the same criticism, repeatedly - for almost an hour for so much.
Hey there. Appreciate the feedback. We try to keep things as honest as possible. Unfortunately, we have found our criticism toward this particular show to be mostly the same each week. While we try to keep things fresh while doing so, I can see how it could become redundant. To be transparent, this was the first thing we’ve covered where we were more negative than positive, and we’re still figuring out what that looks like for the show to keep things fun and engaging. Hope you’ll stick with us while we improve! After our live stream next week it’s on to fun, positive, new discussions!
@@BeyondTheDuneSea Oh yes, I totally get it. I’d say if you watch Screen Crush, Meg and other recap shows- you see they might spend 5% of the show griping, but they also tend to focus on what was shared- since The Acolyte did add so much new stuff to the Star Wars universe. If you feel the show earned a C, totally get it- and that’s ok. I’d say, just try to not have 50-75% of the dialogue be about what was wrong with it. In any event , thank you for listening to the feedback, I love your show and I appreciate the hard work you both put it.
I do think that the show has some weaknesses but I don't think it was terrible for the first 7 episodes at all. I would say that I wish all of the episodes were 10 or 15 minutes longer so we got more time to sit with the characters and their motivations. But honestly the whole last half of the show is great. I still think it is way better than the first two prequel movies by far.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SHOUTOUT!! Honestly my page at this point is just a fan account of yours, you helped me start everything and am so grateful for all the help you’ve given me along the way ❤ LOVE BTDS

i appreciate that you two get dressed up for these, you're both stylish individuals. lookin sharp, boys!

"I hate this show and I look forward to season 2."
Haha not exactly. Don’t hate it. Just very lukewarm. I’d be cautiously intrigued for a season 2 given the setup.
@@BeyondTheDuneSea Sure, not literally, but you definitely see how in a comedic sense your(and many) reviews keep boiling down to that.

Just finished the last 20 mins of this episode and realised you covered what’s coming next! Ha
Basically the Acolyte is like pineapple pizza. Some people will absolutely love it, and majority hate it.

Great recap. Captured most of my feelings. Thanks for the education on “bleeding” lightsabers.
@@SpaceBearUnlimited definitely a creative and interesting idea that was added since Disney took over.
They did so many explanation interviews after the show each week. No other show has ever had to do that in the Star Wars universe.

Saved the best for last with Bloore!!!

43:32 what comic is that in?
How could Osha be in Qimir's head when that helmet was supposed to be a vaccuum.... didn't Qimir said it was "just you ad the Force"
