Fantastic work. It’s clear you guys are pushing the boundaries of what an ebike can be. I would encourage anyone who hates on ebikes to test this one.

Already 2 test days and 130 km makes me happy to have this bike ! No noise and smooth rides . Good training because in Belgium the max km/ houre motor assistance is limited on 25 k/H . Me lucky !

Do they discuss the purpose of an e-road/gravel bike? Other than long rides over 200km or for people with health issues that prevent them from climbing, why do people buy these over a normal road bike?
I totally get ebikes for commuters and emtbs and why people buy them but road bikes are a head scratcher. Average riders can do 30kmh averages on normal bikes pretty easily. It doesn't take much fitness to be able to do a 100-150km ride, and can't imagine much of a market for people wanting to do crazy distances.

Why not ride an e-road/gravel bike? It's fun!

@@pivotcyclesusa because it's heavier, more expensive, adds complexity/cost to reliability and simply doesn't add any value for an average middle age guy like myself who rides road for fitness. There must be a market and of course you should make and sell bikes to that market, I fully support that, I just find it weird that people buy these.

If you are thinking about getting an E-VAULT make sure you test it before buying it!!!
The E-Vault being a brand new bike, there seem to be no real life reviews anywhere.
The video is quite informative but I wonder what bike Mr. Cocalis and his colleagues are talking about.
The E-Vault I bought mid March, spent most of it's time at the shop, trying to figure out a nasty noise and violent movement of the Fazua drive pack in the down tube and a delayed engagement after shifting. The bike is currently on its way back to Pivot for evaluation, I will update this post after I get the bike back.
Besides getting the dealer involved, I reached out to Fazua and Pivot.
Fazua replied fairly quick, although exchange of the drive pack and later the bottom bracket gear box did not help and created an additional problem.
In contrast, it took Pivot almost a week to reply with some generic blah blah. Needless to say, I expected more from Pivot, very disappointing to say it politely.
If you are looking for a real life experience with this bike, I can give you the following impressions:
Is The E-Vault the top notch gravel e-bike the video tries to make you think - maybe it is, numerous failed attempts to fix a defective drive system are not really what you expect from a top notch bike.
Is it expensive - it sure is.
Is it worth the money - the jury is still out on this. For me, the real value of a product is determined by the service you receive when something goes wrong. The service revived from Pivot so far is mediocre at best and some swag they offered me is not going to cut it. Trying to calm down a customer with a legit problem by offering a t-shirt is insulting.
Long story short, make sure you ride an E-Vault before you make your decision to buy!
Here's a link to a video showing the noise and movement of the bike during shifts, with virtually no load applied.
