I read all your comments!
I forgot about 1 more Consumable and that's Shadow Oil which you apply on your Off Hand - Your Main Hand is reserved for Wildstrikes.
Cold Blood - pair it with Vanish - Envenom!
any new farm for rogues in this phase?
Thx. Nice vid as always. Can u plz make video about enchants for rogue? Should i use Dismantle or +3weapon on 1h?
Explayn plz Dismantle more. And other enchant top on lvl 40.
Thx,big fan
@markonicus what poison to use? Instant or deadly?
you can also use elixir of coalesced regret which gives 1 to every stat(minor but you mentioned boggling root so..) and also lesser arcane elixir buffs the shadowbolt damage from the Shadow oil. lesser arcane is actually about a 10 dps increase then without it from my sims so it is def not small if you are trying to parse!
oh and also should mention pre placing landmines on the boss for engineers and you can even use elixir of giant growth since it stacks with ogre strength.
Great video as always! Coming from someone that has been a viewer since the castle nathria mage videos^^
Ooof, that's ages ago :D
Well I am glad that you sticked to my channel even though I had like a 2 year pause!
Keep up the good work. I always find your guides useful.Thank you!
That's lovely to hear, thank you!
Hi Mark, Thanks again for this new video, always clear with good details, all we love ! TY Brow .. A French Rogue :P
Bonjour Monsieur. Ja ne parle pas francais :D
That sums up my whole french knowledge, I'm glad that you liked the video mate!
Heya Mark! Awesome video as usual.
When it comes to not using SND for combat however, I am not so sure. I’ve been looking over lots of logs, and so much of our damage still comes from melee. Due to dual wield spec, this is further amplified.
On top of that, attack speed is multiplicative. When we use SND with blade flurry, and then gear like Lw gloves, LW helmet, the new trinket etc we get even more benefit.
Anyway, worth exploring further, but I am a bit skeptical of the sims.
It takes up too much CP to keep up the S&D without the Improved S&D Talent, which loses you quite a bit of Envenoms.
If you want to keep up the S&D you need to alternate S&D - Envenom, which costs you quite a bit of damage.
I'm not just basing these off the simulations - sod.warcraftlogs.com/reports/qR84aPX9vZD2tCzf#fight=5&type=damage-done
Check this guy out, insane damage no S&D
Nice Video! Pretty Clear and understandable for a new player like me!
I'm really glad to hear that! Welcome to WoW :D
Is it better to always evenom at 5 CP even if you « waste » a CP with the third mutilate? Evenom at 4 would result in more evenoms in the fight
You really waste only 1 CP for quite a bit bigger damage + longer buff duration and guaranteed Energy return.
According to Simulations it's better to only do 5 CP Envenoms and basically all the top loggers do it that way.
I doubt that the number difference is huge even if you decide to use 4 CP Envenoms.
Thx for all the love and guides for the best class ever : D
One question. In your combat build you have 3 points in improved backstab. Why ? Does it affect Multilate ?
Mutilate benefits from talents which affect Backstab, so yeah - it does affect it!
@@Markonicus thanks dude
Yes. Been waiting on this one.
An here it is ^^
Hi Marco great vid, thank you, learned a lot again! What are your weapon enchants? 2x dismantle?
Yeah, I am using 2x Dismantle - I hoped it's going to do more damage though. I might go back to Striking so I do more damage in the open world.
As for other enchantments I have Shadow Oil on my Off Hand and Wild Strikes from Feral Druid on Main Hand.
Love your videos brother!
Thank you bro!
thanks for the insight :)
And thank you for the comment :D
Does the deadly brew rune go off the rank of your poisons? I know it apply instant poison automatically if you don't have any on your weapon. but now that we can have rank 2 instant poison would deadly brew be applying rank 2 or 1?
You need to train your Poisons and Deadly Brew will instantly use your highest level of Poison.
Keep us updated please, I think with needs rogues can be top 2 dps overall
I don't think so :(
This phase, isn't our Phase - we didn't gain any Power with our Runes, while all the other classes sky rocketed.
Do you apply poison or sharpening stone? Asking because deadly poison gets applied even if you do not apply any instant poisons.
Thanks!
I don't apply any Poisons, Deadly Brew does that for me. For weapon enchantment if I have a Druid in the raid or windfury, I won't put anything on my Main Hand, while ideally you will put Shadow Oil on your Off Hand.
Thank you. great guide. Can you please post a pvp guide with explanation as well?
I have to PvP more in this patch before doing that! Will be in a week or so I hope.
What are you using as weapon buffs poison's or sharp stones? ive been told both?
Deadly Brew takes care of Poisons, I am using Shadow Oil for Off Hand and Main Hand needs to be free for Wild Strikes.
Would you build up 5 stacks of deadly poison then use cold blood, vanish and cast envenom for 100% crit plus the 10% feom MoS?
Yes, I somehow completely forgot to mention Cold Blood -.-
My bad!
Thoughts on Shadow oil? I hear this is great for off hand application if you have feral, and I goess both weapons without feral
Yeah it's the best weapon enchantment at the moment, I forgot to mention it in Consumables, but I did mention it in pinned comment.
Can you comment on what build to run from 30-40 if spamming dungeons? I assume just spec into offhand dmg + blade flurry and then fill out the dagger spec from there
I quested and was quite fast in terms of leveling, I was only a level behind the fastest players on the server.
But just go for Blade Flurry - Opportunity 4/5 and rest in Combat tree, I think I highlighted that build for open world
So using the assas build don’t run slice and dice? Or just not on the opener? I’m new to rogue
Using Assa build you are using Slice and Dice
But with Combat Build you aren't
@@Markonicus And with Assa Build you still go to 5 CP? Thanks for the Guide man
Which Poison do you apply to your daggers assuming there's no Wildstrike in your grp?
I don't apply Poison since I have Deadly Brew Runes. I either apply Sharpening Stone if I'm cheap or Shadow Oil if I feel like spending more gold.
Thank you!@@Markonicus
Just curious on your thoughts on an 18/8/5 build, grabbing 5 Lethality, Relentless, SnD, Ruth, Malice,1Vile, for combat doing just enough to get improved BS for you Mutilates, and then 5 in opportunity for increased damage.....let me know i feel like this is being slept on.
It won't do as much damage, that's just it. That build is a burst build - I sometimes run it in PvP for fun.
No hit, this build wont be good
Do you use any additional poisons on your weapons?
No, Deadly Brew covers it all.
I took a look at quite a few raid logs in the top 100 for gnomerean and did not see any combat specs rogues so far, has anyone tried this and if so how close to the poison talent build can you get?
Lashthetrash - has Rank 1 Viscous and Menagerie thanks to Blade Flurry and Adrenaline Rush.
When the boss is 20 seconds long as Grubbis you require luck as well when playing Combat you need good Poison Application and a lucky crit on Envenom.
does opportunity benefit mutilate always or only rom behind?
Opportunity always benefits Mutilate, you don't have to be facing the back of the mob.
What should i do in multitarget situation when mobs die quickly? Shuriken toss spam or single target rotation between mobs? They are dying so fast in dungeons that i can even finish single target rotation.
Just spam Mutilate and that's it.
@@Markonicus no envenom ? Or slice and dice maybe ?
Im currently at 150eng and trying to decide if i should drop it for LW... is eng still worth while?
Ideally go LW/Engi, that's the most optimal profession duo :D
@@Markonicus well I have skinning to build some revenue
hello m8..im fresh 40 lvl rogue..but i like to use swords ,is the same rotation as well? using poion build btw :)
If you are using Poison build then it would really be better to play Daggers.
I would go combat tree if I'm playing Swords since they have much lower attack speed.
The rotation should be the same, but you will generate less CP since you will be using Saber Slash instead of Mutilate.
@@Markonicus And which runes and talents should i use as saber slash build?
@@SionTheLegend Full Combat Tree, Saber Slash, Deadly Brew, Between the Eyes, Master of Subtlety and Shadowstep while leveling.
Hey, do you put poisons on your weapons?
Nope, Deadly Brew Rune does that for you.
For mutilate assassination build what poisons do we use on weapons?
Just Deadly Brew Rune on the chest and you are good to go.
Thx. Nice vid as always. Can u plz make video about enchants for rogue? Should i use Dismantle or +3weapon on 1h?
Explayn plz Dismantle more. And other enchant top on lvl 40.
Thx,big fan
I mean I said which are the best in the video.
When it comes to Dismantle it only works on Mechanicals and it seems they buffed it's proc rate.
It does about 8% of my overall damage on Mechanica mobs (4 out of 6 bosses), while +3 damage is only like 1-2% increase.
But +3 damage works on the first 2 bosses and it works in PvP.
@@Markonicus what about main hand +3 dmg and offhand Dismantle?
Its work on white dmg too, or just spells and Abilites?
Hello ,
I've asked you some question already before on the server.
Can you please make a movie on how to properly use "redirect" in raid.
with the big update coming I would love to know how to use it properly in my rotation.
thanks alot
I actually never bothered to pick up Redirect - I haven't been in a single Dungeon since the start of the phase 2 xD
It's not even a good ability - you store the CP for only 15 seconds, the only thing which you can do is to get a full Slice and Dice off of it, if your Raid team is fast on pulling bosses.
How I can use envenom when I dont have any poison on target ?
You can't, but Deadly Brew Rune should generate Deadly Poison
Do a guide for pvp Markonicus! Thank you 👍
I am not playing a lot of SoD as of current moment and I didn't play all of the viable specs so eh, I don't wanna spread bad info.
Soft cap weapon skill is 8 on 3 leveld above and 3 skills on 2 levels above
Correct, that's the current soft cap. Meaning Weapon Expertise Talent won't do a lot for us in the raid - but if you are farming lvl 43+ mobs it goes a long way.
Also that fact will help out a lot in the Poison build when we get that +3 Daggers set.
Why do we take the opportunity talent? Is it because we open with garrote?
We don't open up with Garrote, Opportunity Talent boosts the damage of your Mutilate.
What poisons do you add to your MH and OH for poison build?
No Poisons, only Deadly Brew Rune
Have you tried putting something like shadow oil @@Markonicus
@@Markonicus why no poison ? I'm curious
Deadly brew applies deadly poison @@starberry2705
@@starberry2705the deadly brew rune for the chest piece allows your melee attacks to have a chance to proc an instant poison even if you don’t have one applied to the weapon. That will in turn give you a stack of deadly poison on the target as well. There are some who would say to keep the poisons on the weapons as it *feels* like it procs more, but that’s personal preference imo.
Whats the purpose of the fast vanish?
You gain Master of Subtlety buff which increases your damage by 10%, you want a fast Vanish so you don't stop attacking at all.
@@Markonicus thank you for the reply!
so you dont use Slice and Dice in combat Build?
Nope, unless there is a mob before the boss or something so I can kinda precast it
👍
I tried all builds, and sadly the only good one uses mutilate...I hope next phase combat becomes a thing, cause we get phantom blade and thrash.
We'll definitely have to wait and see.
Even with great weapons such as Thrash Blade, Saber Slash should still be worse than Mutilate.
2 slow daggers for mult or fast oh?
Fast OH if playing Poison build - Slow OH if full Combat
slow down bro, we love you, you forgot some stuff you answered in replies, but please make videos since i am downloading them and spaming to my head before raid hahahahaha ;)
What do you mean slow down? The grind is on my friend - all day and all night :D
I dream of videos lmao
Yeah my bad I forgot to mention the Oil and Cold Blood, somehow slipped even after a few video reviews.
Mate how i find the thistle tea?
Cooking Pattern, after you complete a Rogue Quest - requires Swifttistle and Refreshing Spring Water to make.
You can buy it from the AH or farm herbs by yourself for Swiftthistle.
Can you share your vanish envenom macro please?
I don't have one, I just do Vanish and then Envenom really fast.
why do you say the poison build is easier than the other? The poison build requires you to keep slice and dice up and the other doesn't.
Just because Cooldown usage requires you to have more fight knowledge and prep - Blade Flurry can also be clunky and CD time is a lot more tighter than the Poison one.
all you have to know about flurry is pop it when there is more than one target....@@Markonicus
Example of you doing would help a ton for new rogues.
Otherwise solid video.
It's hard, because there are no dummies in Classic. In retail I show everything on Dummies.
@@Markonicus record raid footage?
What about skipping SnD completely and putting the points somewhere else? These points could be spent elsewhere, like into Murder or Lethality.
SnD is great with Poison build, it's really a great Talent, increasing value of your finisher by 45%.
You are maybe confusing the 2 rotations, Combat one doesn't use SnD, while Poison one wants 100% SnD uptime.
Why improve backstab is 3/3 if we just should spam mutilate and dont use backstab?
Mutilate benefits from talents that apply to backstab
Ayyy any Talent that increases Backstab also increases Mutilate unless otherwise specified.
Why use the slice and dice talent if not using slice and dice
I don't use Slice and Dice in the Combat build where you don't invest any points there.
If I am using the Poison build I will use Slice and Dice.
There are 2 rotations in the video, so you probably got confused - I should have made a bit more clarification!
Marko are you from Balkan?
Yes sir!
@@Markonicus odao te akcenat :) pozdrav iz srbije
For the poison build which poisons on each wep are you using?
I only use Deadly Brew Rune, you don't need to apply any Poisons.
