This build was awesome.I want to make a 3 wheeled electric vehicle for my boy to go off-road and on trails. He has Spina bifida and I think he would love it. I'm looking to make something like a power wheels wild thing, but more off-road worthy and big ATV tires. I just have to figure out the electrical...wiring, charging, batteries, and steering.
For those yyk controllers you were initially installing, you have to swap the blue and green phase wires and hall wires. Swap blues position for green on both thr hall connector and when you connect it to the motor. That will probably fix your technical difficulties. I have two and blew a motor and some halls before finding info on endless sphere about this
As a real estate agent hating cars, a civilized version of that rocket would be quite an interesting investment. ( You know, mud barriers, flat tyres, lights, warning, brake lights ). @@Blox117 welcome to hub motors, hub motors are not for performance, there for Convenience. 4000 watt it s the peak of them, 200amp BMS is over kill(I had it laying around). If you wanted this fast and have tq, you would get a mid drive motor and gear it correctly
These hub motors are very wide they’re mostly for flat tire scooters they’re not like the motorcycle hubs motors from QS motors, those have a good RPM but still lack total torque.Search “ripperton electric superbike “ This guy races electric super bikes in Australia and they do a lot of test experiments , he built a 200 kW super-bike. If you look at their test the mid drive motors always outperform the hub motors also hub motors put weight where you don’t want it , on the ends ,you want your weight right in the middle.

If you need a fender for it you should look into Honda 200x -250r - and 350x fenders. A front fender from one could prob be made to work front and back on that! Great job. Might wanna look into some stronger triple trees. That’s a lot of weight to have on a set that have been cut and welded
Probably, that would make it more traditional, yes. I came from building eclectic skateboards(should of made videos) and fell in love on how simple it is and the felling of gliding around . This is sorta a mixture of that. Plus I wanted something you can just hop on and hop off , kinda like a lifeguard would use to go save someone from drowning in the ocean...
So I've made my own...let's say contraptions many times and I must say this and your other builds are top quality, very good job !!! I have one question, how could there be too much power? I mean couldn't you just control the power output with the twist throttle and just keep the extra power on tap just in case you find yourself in need of it?
Oh yes definitely, since it is electric you have tons of different options. One way is to put a 3 button switch and have 3 saved custome modes which would be relative to amps and throttle response.
You might want to contemplate a rear fender in case your get too close to tire in a crash or anything, it'll try and suck things through the gap between it and the frame.
On your intake manifold how do you prevent dirt and dust from entering and mucking up the internals and batteries? And the air intakes exit port is over the controlers under the deck how do you prevent moisture from getting on the controlers? I know its electric and shouldnt be ridden in the rain and such but going offroad there is always the chance of running into an area that has high ground moisture unlees you only tide in the desert.

Who else got reminded of the Suzuki RV50 or Honda Monkey by this one? I guess, their concept might geht a revival by amongst Segways, fat bikes, and Vespa-type scooters. PS: the wishbones, damper layout and tyre size might not yet fit the mogul piste.
China Original controllers were ok, the manufacture wanted me to use there controllers. Two controllers two motors one throttle, the signal wire you parallel to the two controllers
i have one of those controllers on my diy scooter. 3000W 84v. Its definitely insane huge power. Theyre made for go-karts so on a scooter its huge. That scooter will wheelie out from under you if you hit the throttle even remotely too fast. and with the 33T rear sprocket i used my top speed (theoretically) is like 80mph. I havent hit more than 50. its scary being that fast on a rickety pos. lol.. Your scooter though looks awesome. Im lovin it. I'm definitely subbing!

My goal is a reverse trike that has enough power to sling gravel, climb any hill I want, (within reason) can ride for at least 2 hours plus, has 2 suspension settings, one for on road, tire burning speed demon, and the second for torquey off road hill climbing. Have one set of road fat tires from an older fat boy 10 speed, and some short tiller type wheels and tires, and a could lawn mower tires, 2 golf cart motors and rear portion of a electric golf cart... Just a lot of odds and ends that I could throw together to make me something right wicked... All I’m missing is the batteries to actually do like I want, and not just 3 deep cycle lead acids, and a rack of golf cart batteries.... Shrug* I’m trying... Really wish Inhad some of that awesome gear you’ve got there bud, but I’m poor folks, I can’t afford all that awesome gear, so, I’ll be using just about whatever I can find scrap or that someone else has junked or tossed out... Doing the best I can... But your Scooter is wicked as Shit man, like that is so badass... I’d Kil for something like that..! Def subbing broski..! Hubs 8x7.5 Tire 18x10.5-8 2000watt rated 4000w peak I believe there rated at 60b but going 75v is no big deal, the controller is where you need to pay attention to the max volts, most motors csn always be over voltages. This way you can gain more rpm, and lower the current just a tad and get way less heat

What charger do you use and how long of a run time do u get on that giant battery with those powerful motors? I made a 1500watt 48v drift cart and get about 20 minutes on 6.5 amp hour batteries at full throttle most of the trip doing around 28mph on flat ground
I buy a charger from a china guy I get my bms’s from. I then order they type of plugs I want and wire them in. There supposed to do 8amp but only literally out put 4amps. That 60ah battery would take a long time to charge from an empty state. I would normally let it charge overnight, I use really good BMS that connects to your phone via Bluetooth to monitor each cell if needed. All my batteries I have made can do fast charge no problem, you would need to purchase that and it’s not cheap. So a 30amp fast charger would charge that in 2 hours from empty, but your battery should never be empty. Ride it to half then charge. Is a good rule of thumb. The range on this is pretty good since it’s aluminum and the motor do not draw too much amps. I would say average ride time is over 2 hours
That would be nice, I tend to build my stuff for performance more than range, I would’ve only used one motor if I was concerned about range .instead I wanted more traction and double the torque since hun motors lack torque already
@@RexSmithII Hi REX yes, running AC pulse with Lorch machines (MIG) when I was an apprentice. I would highly recommend using TIG for these small applications.
@@benlorne2161 I know tig is way more professional and cleaner but a tig is hard to get under areas were Mig could and is a breeze for run and gun for these applications is way better for me. I don’t have a welding table or something where I could just sit and tig.
If I didn’t have a full gym in my garage, I would definitely turned it into a welding area. With proper table etc...I’m also only using 110v input so this is bare minimum. But you would be very surprised how good these cheap inverters actually perform for the price. I have also been told by people that bought the same equipment. there is a good review video on RUclips comparing it to millers etc..

Did you use 2 SineWave controllers? If so, which ones and how did you connect them to the display?
In video I used The YKZ7280JA controller. But then used the manufacture tiny controllers (no brand ). The display is connected from the BMS.
