Speaker Swap and Upgrade - 2016 Kia Forte LX - Full Tutorial

I wanted to do a full tutorial on upgrading the speakers for a Kia Forte. It's not hard if you have the right tools. This is ONE way to do it. It's a Start to finish on one door panel. Other door panels are similar and just as easy.
Recommended Tools
Philips, Flathead, Door trim removal, Cutting Tool, Dremmel or small handsaw. Soldering iron for speaker connections. Drill and screws for mounting onto Speaker Base.

You can actually buy replacement speaker mounts to mount the new speakers in. instead of destroying the OEM speakers. I bought a set to replace the original speakers, they fit perfectly. But, I am glad I didn't destroy the originals because I ended up putting them back in, did not like to replacements!

You are correct and that is the right way to do it. but I decided that it wasn’t in my budget. The car has good stock speakers but I was going a different route. I wanted to do this so I posted it just to show a cheaper mod for the speakers and I was just gonna toss the old ones out. I swapped out all 4 speakers for free using what I had lying around. What I did was a “budget upgrade”

May I ask where you about the harness replacements for the speakers?

I just cut and spliced using heat shrink tubes. I left enough wire on original speakers just I case I didn't like replacements, which I didn't. @@nobles932
