Well, re. Steve's concerns re. Club 33? Of COURSE they're doing it for profit (Smile) Nobody charges $15k per year for ADMISSION to a restaurant for anything other than profit (smile) Frankly, I think this expansion should be seen as a new version of the corporate sponsorships pioneered at EPCOT--this way lots and lots of businesses (and let's face it, at that price level this is a business expense by and large, just like Skyboxes at stadiums, as a place to entertain clients and reward workers) can "sponsor" themselves into the themeparks at WDW without having to pay for an entire attraction sponsorship. That means many, many more 'sponsors' than possible under the old format. The big question? Will they add a Club 33 at DCA, too? Second big question: Considering the often-noted-by-the-Dis disparity in quality in foodservice between California and Orlando, will Club 33 be as special at WDW as it is at Disneyland?
They already have a Club 33 in DCA it is called the 1901 Lounge. Referring to Disney making a profit this is what I said in the article, "Disney is out to make a profit. There is nothing wrong with that, but Disney fans and potential members of Club 33 aren’t stupid, and if they realize that Disney has just slapped some paint and a Club 33 logo on an old lounge, it isn’t going to go over well."
