    Hell, yeah! Finally some Luka appreciation. "Južina" is by far my favourite entry of this selection (plus one of my Top10 of the NF season in general) and I actually find the music itself very captivating - so it's not just the insane visuals. It's cool to see I'm not the only person excited for this song :D I have no clue how it would do in Eurovision, but I wish him all the best.
    My second most listened to song was probably "Extra" and I was kind of surprised to see it in your Top10. It's a less common genre in ESC, but Fenksta does it very well.

    I truly hope we send Luka because he is currently presenting us with the whole package + he's experienced singer which could help to avoid some issues like voice breaking due to being nervous (or sth similar that can happen with newer artists). Also for me this is truly Croatian representation, song in Croatian, singing about typical Croatian issue and referencing another Croatian song by artist who is known in Eurovision.
    I like Poison Cake and Welcome to the Circus but I feel they are in style to similar to Bambie and Baby L to make strong effect. Magazin and Lelek are something I wouldn't normally listen to but I wouldn't mind if they represented us.

    ‘Nj’ is a single sound in Croatian (seperate to ‘n’ and ‘j’ individually) - it’s a bit like ñ in Spanish or the ‘N’ in News is how it’s usually described to anglophones.
    But if you struggle with it you can just pronounce it as a normal ‘n’ - like “Ogen”

    Oh, I've been waiting for this. Yes, I agree, variety is awesome this year (pop, rock, rap, ethno, electropop...) and probably this is the most opened and exciting Dora with no clear favourite. In my opinion, this five will be in contention to win (Ogenj, Marko Bošnjak, Magazin, Luka Nižetić and Lelek). I'm not big fan of Magazin's song, but yes they are by far the biggest name here and has their fanbase. I don't know about IVXN, Ananda, Matt or EoT, they could be high, maybe some of them in TOP 5 or TOP 6, but I don't believe that they could win in the end. Nipplepeople are by far the biggest disappointment here. Before the songs were released, I thought that they will be first favourites in Dora, but now I really don't believe that they are in any combination to win.
    And yes, it will be exciting because the jury winner this year could be Magazin or Marko Bošnjak, maybe a little less likely Lelek while the televote winner will be Ogenj (i think the most likely) or maybe little less likely Luka Nižetić or Lelek. But televote margin won't be too big. So every point could be crucial.

  • @TheMrPushy
    @TheMrPushy 10 дней назад +3

    I have to say I disagree with these lyric videos giving us "almost nothing." Yes they're less than a music video but if you look at Marko Bosnjak's video, you can definitely imagine the type of stage show he's going for with those visuals. Same for EoT, and even Lelek.
    My favourites are Marko and Lelek, so I hope one of them can make it to Eurovision :)

    6:25 Um... Hair glitch is real 😆
    9:05 Shoulder going crazy 😂
    10:25 Exactly this. If the lyrics weren't displayed on screen, no one would notice them or at least wouldn't pay too much attention to them.
    12:10 WTF? 😂
    15:23 Did I hear that right? Winter bitch?
    16:10 Croatia is more conversative so I can't see that happening.
    Also odd choice to make a black&white video for a song that's not a ballad.
    18:50 Funny you say this since their new singer lost to Roko in 2019, finishing 2nd. So the 2nd and 3rd place of DORA 2019 are both competing.

    As you said, there is a big difference between the international ESC fans and the local public, who will actually vote on these. Nobody ever mentions Marko Škugor, an artist that is well known in the country and seems to have the second most ammount of views on RUclips right now, just behind Magazin, who are once again a well known group there. He is also a good vocalist, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets rewarded for it by the jury. In any way, don't be surprised if he shows up and does really well at the end, including potentially winning.

    @Esc Tom, HI!
    That part of the year arrived, right?
    Well, waiting for your Review before listening to all the songs. Glimpsed into PZE this year as well, not too keen on the last year favorite, Prince, his trademark should be ethno-oriental mood and traditional songs, he swims great in those waters!
    DORA 2025, related, repeat, I did not listen to any of the songs full yet.
    Luka is a cheerful guy!
    Don’t know if you had the chance to hear or remember his “Proljece” from couple of years ago? Kinda Greek Melos, it is still a great song!
    Juzina, if nobody explained, southeast blowing Adriatic wind, influencing state of mind of people, mood, eagerness to work, so people in Croatia blame it for everything: headaches especially, sleepiness, lack of energy…
    Copied text:
    The Jugo brings warmth, a drop in pressure, mostly high humidity, clouds and rain frequently followed by thunder. All of this affects the mood, and since it usually lasts a long time, people are overcome by a total “fjaka”, from the Italian word “fiacca” meaning “weariness” or “listlessness”.

    The only real chances to win have Magazin, maybe Ogenj, Luka maybe (but he's not respected as a singer enough for the jury part) if he'll be amazing and Marko Bosnjak if he doesn't go over the top. I believe Ogenj can mess them up if they put very very good live performance. And maybe M. Bošnjak with shock staging but it has to be open-mouth WOW

    Remove Luka from that 4 songs list and you have potential winners.
    Personaly, I doubt Ogenj (nj is pronounced like in the name aNJa/aNYa) has any chance for win since frontman's homophobic remarks came to light. For a lot of people it's hard to separate art from artist. They did 'anti-abortion' song where embrio is singing to it's mother, and that got them canceled from a concert in popular rock/punk/alternative club in Zagreb 'Močvara' (Swamp) that supports 'pro-choice' view, so there's also that.
    Lelek and Ivxn have the best chance to do good in Basel, but presentation must be spot on.
    After unwatchable and unhearable horrors from Hudek and Roko (Hudek is also responsible for that flop), I belive, based on what we saw in last two years, Croatian team finally learned how to use stage as a good prop - leave it to the artists when they know what they are doing. If not, hire someone who does since floating huge heads and ridiculous 'heaven' with two 'angels' on cringe songs is a huge NO.

Today we are looking for everything in a song except the voice and because of that this NEW Eurosong contest is not song contest any more - and I'm sad because of that! It is some kind of freak contest where our Let 3 was very popular! I was LET 3 fan when I was a kid - it was funny for children's but then you grow up and that is not so funny anymore.
