- A photographic trip to Wyming Brook on Thursday 30th January 2025
I have been promising myself a trip to Wyming Brook for a couple of years now and it was long overdue.
Sadly, I picked a time after we had experienced two of the worst storms the UK had seen for some time.
Sadly it had taken its toll on this particular area of the Peak District as you will see in this video.
It is early days for me making videos, hopefully they will improve and I might even gather the confidence for putting in some more dialogue, anyway, I hope you enjoy the video and please feel free to leave some comments.

Hi Mike, what an idyllic looking place - thanks for sharing your walk through it, and some lovely pictures you took while there. Amazing to see the damage the storms have done - I would have thought the valley would have provided some shelter, but evidently not!
I agree, I was quite surprised at the level of damage inside the valley, the damage seems to have been caused by trees that were uprooted on the slopes and they only had one way to go. I suspect also that the 3 bridges in my video are all NEW and needed to be replaced as a result of the damage. I had read before my visit that the brook had been closed for a while and had recently re-opened. I do wish I had visited before the storms though as I think the photographic opportunities would have been better, but it was a lovely walk and it is always good to be out in Nature.
