Thank you for the excellent overview.....Is the entire unit including the knobs constructed of metal ? Also my camera/telescope kit weights 3.7 kg which is close to the limit, will the fine controls still work smoothly ? Thanks again.
Hi Just received my GH Pro II+, my top pano knob works but is very stiff to turn, it's way more difficult to turn than the other two larger knobs (middle and lowest). Is this how it should be? If yours require the same effort to turn the horizontal pano (top) knob as the other two , then I will return mine to Sunwayfoto for repairs. If your's is also very stiff, then it must be the way it has been designed. I have seen comments from others that their top pano knob is also too stiff to turn easily.

Great review! But if you are going to use an L-bracket anyway, then why do you need the second geared rotating pan function on top? Also, can that geared pan up top also be twisted by hand, like the non-plus version, or only by using the gear? Because that seems like it might slow you down compared to the non-plus version if you can only rotate it by using the knob instead of doing it by hand, right?
The use of an L bracket has nothing to do with the panning but with the ability to relocate a camera from horizontal (landscape) to vertical (portrait) quickly without a need of completely reframing a scene. The top geared function is a must for minute adjustments in architectural, product and macro photography. Top panning vs bottom panning is critical in pivoting on the same axis after leveling on uneven surfaces. Indeed, GC-01 has a quick adjustment knob (gear release lever) for quick positioning and gear knob for fine adjustment. Thank you for the response and the link--much appreciated :) So if I purchase the GC-01 geared clamp for my GH-PRO II will it come with instructions on how to attach it?
Thanks for commenting. If you are involved with architectural photography or product photography, geared fine adjustment makes a difference also in panning. Especially top panning vs base panning common on other heads, which would create distortion.
6:20 Dude, you're doing it wrong. There's a folding lever in the middle of each knob that you pull out to crank it into position faster. Geez, I wish you would get to know how your gear works before making a video. ESPECIALLY when you're representing the manufacturer! Come on, do better...
Really good review you answered all my queries, well done thank you so much 😀

When you tighten the panning head locks the markers don't line up there is movement that offsets them, how have you found this on your unit.

@@sunwayfotoofficial3467, good to know. Thank you.
Good review, but please kill the music 🙏🏽
I really do not understand what serious advantages gives us the GC-01 being mounted on top of the GH Pro II instead of native one
