    Pretty nice trellis you built there. I built one this year for my tomato but It Is more 3 dimensional. I just used some thick string for tying up your boat and wrapped and weaved It between wooden sticks to support the tomatoes all around them. You built a nice trellis though, good for beans and peas like you said.

    Great video....I made the same trellis here in Ohio,I also have a raised beds,with limited space,but I tried the string,but I found out that the cucumbers were getting to heavy,soo I used a stainless steel wire instead...and used the sting to tie the vines loosely to the wire....Love your dog's...

    Done is better than perfect -- that is so true, especially for garden where you can still have a chance to re-adjust later or re-do later with more experience and skill, or even better tools.
    An example is the nails versus screw. If you don't have a drill or impact drill, you can screw in manually. Or you can use a hammer and nails. Still gets the job done aand should still be sturdy for quite a bit.

    "I'm not gonna throw it to you if you're not gonna give it to me". I had to laugh when I heard you say that to your dog! I have a yellow lab and I find my self saying that EXACT SAME sentence every time I'm playing fetch with her. "Do you wanna play catch or not?! Drop the ball! Alright, fine, you wanna go home?" Then I show her the leash and she'll drop the ball. Hilarious. Great video.

    Great Idea, I am going to a raised garden next year and am going to have cucumbers but didn't know how I was going to keep them in check but now I do thx to you. My question is what is the purpose of the hooped staples?

    • @gardenfork
      @gardenfork  9 лет назад

      +ALLxoxoxoxo the hoop staples, which are used for stapling cable tv wire, etc., make it easier to tie off the two ends of the jute twine at the ends of the trellis. and it happened to be what I had in the staple gun. thx! eric.

    Great, clear instructions. Love your wife's input she always intuitively asks what I am thinking. I have a vintage Stanley staple gun, would any staple gun shoot those loop staples you used for the string or is it a special stapler. Great idea.

    • @gardenfork
      @gardenfork  9 лет назад

      BarbaraL Lowell hi Barbara, the staple gun i used is for loop staples, but regular square staples work just fine too. the older Stanleys wont work with the loop staples, some new models can use both square and loop staples for the trellis build. thx! eric.
