In addition to being the most technical, they were also going the biggest. We are now in a situation where the guys that charge hard and pushing their body the hardest are falling out of the judging criteria. Obviously doing some random oppos perfectly scores much better (talking about the 92, emils first run). Emil is the best rider in the field, sure, but as a long term spectator, a change in judging criteria is needed to further the sport. Some of those 12 wins of emill had breathtaking deathdefying worldfirsts by both Rogatkin and Godziek. People come to watch rogatkin and godziek, we have only one time seen what emil can do when he needs to step up because of massive overscores on first runs. I feel the judges are making all the riders feel they need to ride emils style. everyone had different bags of tricks when oppo tricks are the highest scoring what motivation does the sport have to progress when a big 1st time trick gets pushed back to a lower end oppo trick. If we stay on this path the innovation in the sport will slow down to a snail pace. Its seems like a oppo truck driver is on par with a no handed twister from the judging. last event emil just did spins and whips mirrored and one flat drop flip. also they mention how tricks loose there glory over time. winshield wiper seems to be scoring huge. thats not no new trick it was sam pilgrims go to trick back in like 2013!!! cycle the judges please redbull, or better yet when nickoli is not competing use him!!!

It would be nice to see the judges give some credit to variety. I think doing a variety of tricks is just as difficult as oppo tricks. Emil is a machine, but the scoring has always been biased towards him. Godziek had flips, spins, whips, bars, no handers, tucks, all mixed together. Emil does the same combos in different directions. Whips, spins, bars, repeat. Hard to beat Emil and the judges.
yes 100% there has to be some equality there and the foot slip should have gave godziek the edge. Last event every trick Emil did besides the flat drop flip was a spin whip combo mirrored. nothing against Emil he rides like a boss but what i also think this basing the event of emils style does not encourage people to innovate tricks.
Absolutely right. Technicality is overscored in this sport. Which is fine, but it wouldn't hurt to mix up the judging criteria every now and then. I feel like both rogatkin and godziek, the guys that really bring in the viewers, have absolutely deserved some of those 12 win

The fact that Emil can produce a 2nd run to take the triple crown under pressure shows the character of the man ! Foot movement or not on his run he delivered ! The guy is silky smooth, technically brilliant and s the dude to catch………. Today I jumped off a kerb and held on 💪🏾😆
Did you watch the whole run? He could have definitely done better by not slipping a pedal. I thought judges were "looking for perfection" that's what they literally say EVERY year. Very convenient that as soon as Emil isn't perfect they decide to abandon that logic. Dawid won that 100%.
@@scottcole1423 was no doubt the wind issues, so the director probably should've made the call to ditch the drone shots entirely, though at least they were minimal.

Clearly what Crankworks tour needs is NIcholi Rogatkin and Matt Jones as presenters. They up the quality and the hype level enormously when they get to be on mic. Roofride is kind of a huckfest with so few hits, but Jones' presenting style from inside the new school makes it one of the best ones to watch. Failing that they should get Sam Pilgrim.
Yeah OMG matt jones is a great annalist. when he is announcing he describes everything so well and he is always pumped for them all and true opinion. I think him and Nickoli would be a great duo, maybe add cam as a trio cause he has had that spot forever seems. You know who else is a great announcer annalist but in BMX scotty Cranmer when he does X games he is always so insightful!!!
1. is there a triple crown for 3 times tripple crown winner?🤣 2. Although Emil is a 🐐 and does those tailwhips 360s and barspins in every direction and super clean, Godzieks run had much more variation and he didnt slip a pedal Thank you very much @Red Bull Bike for everything you guys are amazing
Great competition!🔥🔥🔥 Emil shows again he is number 1. Godziek(and a couple more) did a great run too, happy he's been cleaning up mistakes from last years big runs so Emil must take more risk to win. I hope he continues to ad stuff to his big spins and push the limit. Can't agree whatsoever Emil is "overscored" or "boring" in his riding. Nobody has brought more new tricks to competion in the last years than Emil. Pretty much all tricks Godziek did in this competition had been done before Emil even won his first Crankworx event. While 5 of the tricks in Emils run hadn't been done by then and 2 was done for the first time in his last run alone. And this while leaving out a lot of newer tricks he usually use. I actually enjoed that Emil brought back som older tricks here that look really sick. That Oppo 3, table, double downwhip💫 is a new favorite. I hope he does that trick more!!

Everyone saying Emil's run was lame cant even oppo 180. Theres a reason those tricks score high. Look at the trends rogatkin won for a while over rheeder by adding more spins but it comes full circle when adding more spins in the oppo direction starts winning
Well I did enjoy it. I have read some comments suggesting Nikkoli and Matt Jones take over the commenty and the judges should get a shuffle to even up the scoring. I must say I agree it is a little to predictable now. With what looks like biased scoring and some banal comenntry.
Wow that Paul Couderc flat tire was intense. If he just had slightly less speed that would have been a horrific accident. Sucks his run ended like that, but man was that lucky he made it up.
absolutely amazing 🤯🤯 great to see everyone stepping it up at every event.. it's a shame for dawid that his best ever run was followed by emil's best ever run, but that is competition at it's finest 💚 love it
Godziek deserved that. I'm guessing they just wanted the hype of Emil winning the triple crown. I get it, it's good for PR. But MAN, HE SLIPPED A PEDAL.
@@FightFilms No, although Emil's foot didn't touch the ground. He merely took his foot off to adjust his balance. Crankworx has a long history of not docking significant points for taking a foot off, points are only majorly docked if the foot touches the ground. Please see Rheeder's winning run from Innsbruck 2019 when he slips a foot without touching the ground on his flip oppo dub whip. Or tommy g's second place run Rotorua 2018 when he slips a foot on his 3 bar to whip. This is simply how the judging has always worked. Know your history.
@@gatord0ghis foot clearly touched the whale tail. Watch in slow motion. And, you don't get one of the highest scores ever with a foot slip and so much repetition. Can Emil even do a 1080 tuck no hander? Bet not. Muh difficulty doe.
@@FightFilmsI watched the slow motion replay many times and can’t find a foot dab. Send me a time stamp of the foot touching the ground and you have my word, I’ll agree with you. And no Emil can’t twistor tuck no. But is that trick really all that special? Look at all the riders that can twistor: dawid, isted, Nicholi, some random dude in Dylan starks 420 jam… don’t you think it wont be long until another one of those guys adds a tuck no to that trick? on the other hand how many people can 360 triple whip? Oppo triple whip? Oppo windshield wiper?? Only Emil. His tricks are untouchable. It’s going to be a very long time before someone does those tricks.
The judging on this year has been a little crazy. It seems they are scoring higher for flashy tricks that take more commitment than technicality vs someone doing a 4plus trick combo which is a lot more technical. It's a big change from how all previous crankworx have been judged, but it devalues a few of the more technical riders on the course.
Emil is one of the best riders. But he is too hyped. That is his score bonus it seems. For me he was definitely not on the 1st place in Rotoura and Innsbruck. I see more variations at other riders at the same level.

The fact that Emil can produce a 2nd run to take the triple crown under pressure shows the character of the man ! Foot movement or not on his run he delivered ! The guy is silky smooth, technically brilliant and s the dude to catch………. Today I jumped off a kerb and held on 💪🏾😆
I absolutely couldn't believe Emil's score on his second run, any rider before has only scored max 60 points with a foot dab, absolute shambles!
Amazing!
Hell yeah!!!))
The standard is so damn high these day, wow 🤙🏽
what do you mean? he slipped the pedal and touched down the foot is that standard thats high?? its freaking low tier judgement right there...
If I was David I would flip Emil off then hug him . This is probably the most exciting win I have seen for Emil. Great comp!
Love it 😁
Bringer is bringing it 🎉🎉🎉 Trying new stuff!
Slope style got Robed!!!
I love watching this s*** it's like super addictive to watch it gives me an adrenaline rush just watching!!!😁😝😆
Emil Johansson is my favorite!!!😁😍🤩😆
Paulson with the Sui front flip was insane
Emil earned that, extreme level of commitment, and literally could not have done better. Godziek, and Huppert were amazing as well.
Did you watch the whole run? He could have definitely done better by not slipping a pedal. I thought judges were "looking for perfection" that's what they literally say EVERY year. Very convenient that as soon as Emil isn't perfect they decide to abandon that logic. Dawid won that 100%.
Unbelievable runs! David was soo clean 👌The drone shots weren’t good as you lost the rider in the background. Replays were on point though! 🤘❤️🌈🕊️🌎
I thought the same thing. The drone shots need some work
@@scottcole1423 was no doubt the wind issues, so the director probably should've made the call to ditch the drone shots entirely, though at least they were minimal.
@@ManWalksDogs yeah you’re probably right
Congrats to lucas🫡
good one boys!
I loved it! Epic runs! Cant wait to see the battle between Emil and Dawid keep on goin 😁😁
Edit: hope to see Emil getting more into these twisters and stuff :D
@@incredible5587 Scotty's pretty great too. I'm just tired of Cam honestly.
Brawo Dawid , dobra robota jestes wielki
1. is there a triple crown for 3 times tripple crown winner?🤣
2. Although Emil is a 🐐 and does those tailwhips 360s and barspins in every direction and super clean, Godzieks run had much more variation and he didnt slip a pedal
Thank you very much @Red Bull Bike for everything you guys are amazing
Godzieks run looked way better.
@@tobi.bukovec I don't think so, and there's more than "looks"
@@b.o.a.t4042it's all about looks. The judging is subjective and done by looking.
@@FightFilms If the comment before had included some reasons why it looked better, i'd might have agreed. Since it didn't i can't assume it's all about looks.
@@b.o.a.t4042if what the other guys are doing is easier, how come Emil cannot do some of the more impressive looking tricks they do?
Very cool watching lots of people taking victory laps while Emil has to make the run.
Literally a run, he even used his feet :D! I still thought it’s a biking not running contest :(
@@Bator317 I thought it should have been much closer because of that, with out that slip apparently he would hav had a 99 maybe higher.
Come ooon, this was Godziek´s run to win...
same story for the 3,4 time?
amazing
That is pure determination.
I’m so sick of this, the absolutely flawless run from godzeik with way more variety cleaner no foot slip….. and Emil still beats him absolutely a shame, I’m done watching the favouritism in this contest…
It’s hard to watch honestly. Makes me not want to watch this event anymore. Tired of seeing David getting screwed.
Im down for nikolai becoming the next slopestyle voice pretty much like Rob in downhill racing
yup and another comparison X=Scotty Cranmer to BMX. Its great when they break down the tricks for us!!!!
I sure am missing watching nicholi ride just love that guy
Ok, it was an incredible save by Emil but exactly because of this he shouldn't won.
There's a few other reasons too.
Precisely.
Another win even tho a foot slipped and David’s run was better judges are most definitely on Emils side
2:32:57 Emil🤔
DAVID GODZIEK - GOLD 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍 ONLY FIRST 🎉🎉🎉
Who else is for a Johansson vs Semenuk battle ?
get them both at rampage and do it!!!
🚴🏼♂️🌀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As we know there is no such thing as witchcraft until Emil went up the whale tail in doing so he’s joined the magic circle and Fairplay to David pushed him all the way and a big shout out to Lucas Hooper he finally got a podium he truly deserves he been working so hard to get back fit from his shoulder injury truly deserves his podium and another big shout out to Max Fredrickson top 5 finish yeah boy
Emil is soooooo lucky his foot didn't go all the way down 😳😳
@@0harris0is foot must’ve stopped at the train station called Toe drag Central I think The live stream should be called Johansson TV lol Plus I don’t know Emil hasn’t got over. 100 points yet as he’s only 24 it will come I can’t wait for joyride to see the same tricks all over again The crazy thing is the judges know what he’s going to do but they can’t knock any points off because. he does them So well and pardon the pun but I think after all these years this is the only time he’s put a foot wrong lol
@@0harris0it did
@@0harris0 not luck. He’s just that good.
@@0harris0 Worlds 1st 97 with a foot down, i think the poles are shifting.
Everyone saying Emil's run was lame cant even oppo 180. Theres a reason those tricks score high. Look at the trends rogatkin won for a while over rheeder by adding more spins but it comes full circle when adding more spins in the oppo direction starts winning
Pedal slip.
1:41:30 Godziek
Well I did enjoy it. I have read some comments suggesting Nikkoli and Matt Jones take over the commenty and the judges should get a shuffle to even up the scoring. I must say I agree it is a little to predictable now. With what looks like biased scoring and some banal comenntry.
Emil is great but he slipped a foot i think he should have been 2nd this time but stiil great show all riders are awesome in my opinion
winning run 2:07:19 !!
Wow that Paul Couderc flat tire was intense. If he just had slightly less speed that would have been a horrific accident. Sucks his run ended like that, but man was that lucky he made it up.
1:43:39 Wish Tom could have pulled off that second run! It may have changed things.
redbull stil the best coverage ever, unlike UCI!!!🤢
Can't wait for Nicholi in the booth
2:06:00 Godziek
thanks
Time for a new invention for airless tires. What about the ones on the moon rover?? Need Sam Pilgrim to test this out.
absolutely amazing 🤯🤯
great to see everyone stepping it up at every event.. it's a shame for dawid that his best ever run was followed by emil's best ever run, but that is competition at it's finest 💚 love it
Emil’s best run ever? With the majestic foot dab? That’s sad…
Godziek got scammed again...
and again and again and again. he tries new things and harder tricks and the judges still are on Emil's site.
At that point the judges just want emil to win godzieks run was way cooler
These judges need to be replaced. David 100% won,
Put Emil on a boutique brand bike and his success will dry up.
It was Godziek should have got the win.
Godziek deserved that. I'm guessing they just wanted the hype of Emil winning the triple crown. I get it, it's good for PR. But MAN, HE SLIPPED A PEDAL.
Why bother watching anymore. Its just Emil, Emil, Emil. David was robbed, Emil put his damn foot down and he gets over a 97. Total BS.
Bos😎🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭👌👌👍👍👍
I just don’t think dawid has what it takes to win! Emil is just that good!
They almost need to do a three run format to give the sketchier riders like dawid a chance
@@gatord0gdid Dawid's foot slip and touch down?
It’s going to be a very long time before someone does those tricks.
if you're not first you're last
Specialized wins again!!!
I give the judges a 67.5
Emils run was insane but Godziek should have took gold.
Emil touched the whaletale. It's shame it's 97%. It should be 97 without this mistake
What bike are they using?
This was 110 point run, if not for the pedal slip and dabbing.
Nice, but where's the chat replay?
its up there
The judging on this year has been a little crazy. It seems they are scoring higher for flashy tricks that take more commitment than technicality vs someone doing a 4plus trick combo which is a lot more technical. It's a big change from how all previous crankworx have been judged, but it devalues a few of the more technical riders on the course.
1:53:52
Emil is one of the best riders. But he is too hyped. That is his score bonus it seems. For me he was definitely not on the 1st place in Rotoura and Innsbruck. I see more variations at other riders at the same level.
Max fredrikson my boy got hes run down this here thats it bruh
