EA bring this to PSVR2!!! (I know they aren't reading this)
It looks awful on an RTX3080 with VR, even on PS5 without VR the resolution for EA WRC is barely 1200p, so there is no chance this can run with PSVR2 unless Unreal Engine is heavily optimized
Psvr2 is dead. There is a "3060" in that thing. Not enough for future games
What on earth are you on about "psvr2 is dead it has a 3060 in it" the psvr2 has no GPU in for one and 2 the PS5 runs on other hardware not a 3060 😅😅@@spidermonkeynr1

Yes, this game works very well now on my PC in my Quest 3 headset. I did change a few settings to get the best quality. Then after that I did a few time trials so far and look very good in VR while driving. I have a RTX-3080TI GFX card in my PC and have no problems with graphics or jitters. Seems to be very smooth so far.
Couple things I noticed, yes the replays are just in 3d mode, not in full VR - like looking at a movie screen. And for some reason I don't hear the engine sound in any replays so far. Just tires and wind sounds. Watching Replays are similar to doing VORPX PC games which is in just 3D.

Really hope that it gets enough attention to come over to PSVR2. I played CarX Rally on Quest and that just made me wish for a new Dirt Rally game in VR

To me this is the best driving game ever to come out. And in Vr it just got a lot better.
Great to hear. It's my favourite driving game as well! I haven't got a chance to try the vr version yet. For some reason my controls were somehow locked when I entered the main menu. It seemed like something was just pressing the left arrow key all the time so I couldn't choose anything. Unless I'm missing something and I should have had some invite. I also get a notification in-game saying that a vr headset was not recognized. I'm using Valve Index.
Edit: I had to disconnect the Index controller for it to work properly. Now my only problem is the camera view, it seems I'm sitting way too far from the wheel and I can't get close enough with the "move camera" keybinds :/
Have you tried moving your head back and pressing 'recenter vr' then when you move your head forwards to its natural position the wheel should be closer. Also, disable the automatic vr recenter on race start.@@MikaTarkela
@@MikaTarkela The keyboard glitch comes and goes for me too. It appears when I change something outside of the game when the game is already running. Sometimes it comes even if I don't do anything.

@@daveleebondLet me help educate you. PSVR 2 Runs no mans sky better than an RTX 3080TI. It's more than capable of running ea WRC lol. Unfortunately the mainstream media doesn't want PSVR 2 to be successful due to an agenda. Maybe they just want Facebook to own VR? Who knows.

Yeah, you can't control oversteer, by... Oversteering (countersteering). It's all wrong. Maybe they though that would make it easier/ more accessible

Even if it was just a Driveclub/Dirt Rally 1 "remaster" of the psvr1 version.
Also nobody should be surprised in any way that EA did the absolute *bare minimum* when it comes to the VR implementation or that while it *should* run just fine on moderate hardware, it won't, cause EA couldn't "optimize" their way out of a paper sack.

I would think coming from GT7, any driving game would seem like a downgrade on VR. This is why they don't port any of them to us 😅
Wait, when has DLSS started working in VR? It used to be unsupported (on a driver level). Did I miss the memo?
Oh well, I just checked NVidia's page and it does indeed seem to be supported now. I must have been asleep when that was announced...
@@Elgsdyrit was added a few years back, only a few games ever supported it, and the general consensus last I heard was that it didn't really offer any performance or visual benefits in vr.
But modern games are no longer optimised and rely on dlss, hence it's inclusion here. This game barely runs well in 2d let alone vr.

It looks almost the same to me.
Which obviously means if you have Dirt already, it wouldn't make much sense to get.
In terms of VR performance and clarity, DR2 is way better than this blurry piece of shit (4090 reverb g2) and it’s almost unplayable at a decent graphics setting. Unreal engine it’s simply a bad engine for the VR implementation. Don’t waste your money. Keep playing dirt rally 2 if you want to do it in VR
@@ericdrivenI have the same headset, but only a 3080ti. It's sad to hear how bad this is even on a 4090, I've waited for vr release to buy this game. But if it's that bad I'll just keep waiting.
I recently picked this up on sale in hopes that they will add the native VR to it soon. I have Dirt Rally 2.0 that I play in VR all the time and have a blast in it. Do you know when the VR part is getting released and will it be a free add on to the game?

@@GAMERTAGVR OK it looks like it was released in beta form on April 30 which is probably why it is not listed as VR supported being it is in beta form 👍
Just a heads up, i launched the game, without VR even connected, but had openxr toolkit on pc, and was like my pc had a virus, fps was 3, mouse wouldnt work etc, but even when i exited game whole pc was bugging out, so uninstall open xr and reset pc, an was playable again.
TLDR dont use openxr

Hey @GAMERTAGVR Since this is pretty much the only positive review of WRC VR, would be great if you could try out Dirt2 in VR for a comparison and let us know what you think. We (VR sime racers) are used to Dirt2, AMS2 and AC1 - these are the startands for VR racing. But I do hope you are right and this can be tweaked to look good, just like F1 22/23 can look good/sharp with steam vr resolution set to 170%+.
I take it you have played Dirt Rally 2, for me the VR is so much more refined. WRC dint not look so good on a 4070, But hopefully it will get there.Its on steam sale ATM
I don’t think I ever played Dirt2.
I did these steps:
I played on a 3080ti and Quest 3. Steps I took after steam link looked very soft. I used meta/oculus link software cable. I increased resolution via meta desktop headset options. Turned off Asynchronous Space Warp. A little messing around encoding as always. Minimised Foveated rendering and found it an awesome experience

I don't know, on my 3080 i had an incredibly blurry experience and even though it was showing a decent frame rate, it felt very laggy to me.
I'm on the thirty eighth as well. If you're on a quest, use link and not virtual desktop. In oculus debug tool put it on 900 res. In game, put the render resolution to the max possible.
Turn foveated rendering all the way off. It doesn't work as intended right now. Put DLSs on ultra performance.
Put the graphics preset on, I for quest. Or if you're on something like the reverb G2 put it on medium.
In the VR settings, make sure to set it to auto reset position on start And turn the 3D preview of the track off. Because it's a Buggy mess.
These settings make it playable with decent visuals and a solid frame rate.
And the only time I get lag is occasionally during a menu
I have put 6 hours into the career mode using both the quest 3 and the G2. Also I think that Beta will improve over time so that the tweaking of these settings is not necessary.

@@86themadhatter27 I changed the fov vertical to 0.35 and horizontal to 0.8 in oculus debug tool and I increased pixel density to 1.05. It makes your fov smaller, but because kf this it looks like you have a racing helmet on. In game I turned of DLSS and AA. I get about 30-40% more fps with super sharp image!
I have a question , I have a ryzen 5 3600 , 2060 8 gb graphics and a meta quest 3 , I can lmay dirt rally 2.0 and it looks amazing , or decent enough for my build , I cut even have a smooth experience in this in VR with setting on the lowest. Any ideas what I could do to change this or is the patch really that bad currently ?
This may force me to add pcvr to my vr toy set soon 😮
The game looks blurry compare to dirt 2 and all other vr racing games no matter what settings you run it on
Yes I also heard that from multiple channels that it’s a blurry mess even on high settings so that’s why I didn’t pick it up, not sure what to believe
Have a look plays well you can always refund the more I fiddle I’ve worked out the only way to make it look better is to turn the resolution up past 4000 on the quests 2/3 but you need a really powerful computer they need to fix it in game not rely on the headset
@@OvernightOats1 Yes it's blurry as hell with dlss and it also has taa forced on. You can disable the taa in an ini file which takes away all the blur but then you contend with jaggies. I'm struggling to get good performance on a 4070. It's still so fun though even with the jaggies.
And it's very discounted on Steam and EA right now... so it's a no-brainer.. It's also refreshing to hear someone other than a hardcore sim racers opinion on the game. There has been a lot of mixed reviews based on the graphics and the unreal engine, bla bla bla.. However, at the end of the day, I own it and have since launch, and I really enjoy it even more in VR now. Quest 3, i9-9900 and 4080 handle it like a champ! EDIT: And the FFB on a Fanatec 8nm base rocks!

So the HP G2 VR is not "supported" . My PC has a 4090, i9 13900, 64GB, full nine yards. Nothing but CTD when trying to enter the car in game. I have yet to actually drive in VR. Anyone with an HP G2 have any luck? Or is this VR and mixed reality a lost cause.
Is it any better than Dirt 2.0? Just by the looks, it kind of seems like if you have Dirt you don't really need this.
The game is much better than DR2.0, which I absolutely loved too.

This is going to mislead a lot of people. Dirt Rally 2.0 is vastly superior in nearly every way but i dont think GT has played any of the previous games in VR to compare.
GT you should genuinely consider doing a comparison video of the two in VR. I dont think any exist yet.
If you guys planed to play this in VR just don’t waste your money. Keep playing DR2. Unreal engine it’s a shit in terms of VR implementation. Even on a 4090 it’s not possible to have an experience close to the one you have in DR2. It’s just blurry in the highest settings you can run. Very disappointed as I was with ACC (unreal engine too)
Haha I concur a 4090 can't even fix it. I thought this had to be a paid video to call the experience fantastic. He doesn't even have hands in it. I guess it must be amazing compared to standalone VR?

@@Gorgulahe said he has never played dirt rally in vr, so he has nothing to compare it against I guess. He just didn't know it was actually a bad experience even in comparison to much much older vr rally games (dr1, dr2 and rbr).

I just did a refund on this game. Did set everumything om max and stil it looks terrible in vr. What a joke.
