I’m a teacher and quite a lot of us have ADHD. I think that how different one day is to the next and the fact that we don’t sit down all day is very helpful. Also the day is divided up into modules or classes and there are very clear reminders for these things because they’re also intended for the kids (a bell, announcements, etc). We also have a lot of freedom to design our work environment (what’s on the walls, where the clock is, the furniture)
Hello Llamamama, wow thats amazing! Very cool that you are a teacher :) I have never thought about that, it makes sense. I kinda miss my school days when there were classes, lunch, good structure :) Thank you for sharing your experience! :)
Very interesting. Totally agree it’s all about finding a job where the stimulation is right for the individual. In my experience my ADHD brain works best when it’s interested by work, but if the environment is too stimulating then it doesn’t like that. My job is as a software tester, which there are boring parts to, which is where ADHD meds are great for helping me keep the necessary focus and motivation. When I’m coding as part of my job the brain loves it so I try to prioritise as much of that as I can. Working from home is great as I get to control my environment, so it’s not negatively affecting my ADHD, but when going into the office it can be hellish! Noise cancelling headphones help a lot … get the tunes pumping and take back control! Looking forward to your future videos as always 🙏
Hello Gerard, yeah very true. Software tester, wow thats cool, funny I was recently wondering what its being software tester. Coding is very useful skill in todays world, I wish I would have started learning it when I was younger, its very on demand here where I live. Working from home is awesome, I did that for a while, home is literally best environment for me :) I myself use headphones quite often when I m at home, either listening to non vocal music or noise reduction headphones when I m meditating so I can focus better :) Thank you Gerard for watching! :)
I liked this. My superpower is detailing cars and sales. I was thinking last week after detailing my 3rd in a week how much I enjoy cleaning up car paint and making it look new. Thank you for making this. Makes sense
Hello Don! Thank you, you are my number one supporter! :) Wow that is awesome, I myself dont know anything about cars. Everytime I think about cars I immediately think of John Carpenters Christine movie, which is one of my favorite films :) Thank you for watching and for your support Don!
@ADHDPatrick I wanted to touch base. I have been working many hours mostly and haven't been in touch with your videos the last 3 months. Moved twice across US State lines in 2 years. Good moves, and necessary at the time. I am back in Texas now and working in automotive parts sales and still detailing/cleaning cars in my personal time
Damn this is one is a bit tricky for me cause I work security 12hour shifts and sometimes especially for me my ADHD can get in the way. I neutralize this with vitamin b1 100mg thiamine with 2 cups of caffeine a day. Concerta is too much of a downer to my mood 👍 great content 👍
Hey Slim, I used to work security too sometimes even 14 hours shifts, I have made a video about this also :) Wow I need to try that b1 thiamine supplement, only used B complex sometimes. Thanks for the tip! :) Thank you very much! :)
Also, the boss is such an influential component whether a job can work. Egos are out there and I've experienced good and bad employers
Yeah Donald so true... Ego ruins many things

If I worked in a lab I would miss one or two zero's on the dosage of a medicin or poison. Minor detail, eh?! 😅
Hahaha Linda! Minor detail :D
