      @liammcg2924 Brandon Aiyuk was wide open in the sb. The reason we lost was because of 9 unblocked rushers, and a straight shot from Chris Jones. You want a wr that will be 3rd on the depth chart. I don't think you understand the job of the oline and how it failed us and has failed us for years now.

    7:00 I'm curious, how do those run/pass numbers compare to the other playoff teams, or even just those that played multiple playoff games? Yes the Niners ran more pass plays than run plays, but is their % of run plays still higher than most of the other playoff teams, or has it actually shifted more towards the middle? How do these numbers for the Niners in 2023 compare with our past couple of playoff runs? That would add some important context to that data.
    The "run-first" tag may be inaccurate in a vacuum, but depending how those numbers compare to the past or to other teams, it might still be accurate to say that the Niners are a more "run-focused" team than most others.

    The issue is not the quality of the wide receiver pick. It is why did they pick this position and not yet address offensive line so far. So what if you have great receivers, if Brock Purdy is in the hospital or the sideline injured it doesn't make any difference. Did you see how many times he was decked and hit in the arm last season?

    @keithmannie3277 11 дней назад

    I think Kyle wants to be able to attack every area of the field in the passing game. Having different types of receivers allows you to do that. They know the O-line needs work, but you have to draft guys that fit your system and what you want to do. You go back and listen to interviews of very successful coaches they always value fit over where a player is on someone's draft broad. We have had a lot of success based on our ability to draft well. Yeah, we have missed some guys, but we have also hit on a lot of guys. The way some of you act you would think that we have been at the bottom for years. I want a Super Bowl, but I also understand how hard it is to do that. They have shown that they can build a team, the missing piece was the QB position. I think we have that now so let's see what happens.

Cause yeah, he's SPECIAL with the ball in his hands, but he doesn't run the best routes, and he doesn't always put in maximum effort on plays where he's not part of the progression. He's a really productive yet very unique player. If we're not getting a high second rounder for him, then I'd rather trade him for a low second rounder plus extra picks and then possibly try to trade up higher into the second for someone who fell further than they probably should. Also, I think it's imperative to get his salary off the books before we pay Brock so that we don't have to worry about being stuck in cap hell

    just from the viewpoint as a football fan, i would love to see a Deebo, Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, Patrick Ricard offense.

    There is nothing confusing about the pick. It was a mistake. I actually love the player, but taking him at 31 was a mistake. Slick Rick wouldn't have been able to block Chris Jones in the Super Bowl. The 49ers could've easily traded back and still gotten him. They also could've taken one of the many DB's and OL's that they NEED MORE, and used one of their many picks remaining to trade up into the middle of the 2nd round to take him there. If The Chicago Bears took Marvin Harrison Jr. they would've been getting a great pick, and arguably the best actual player in the draft, but it still would've been a complete waste of draft capital. David I like you and respect your opinions but you can't put a positive spin on everything right? Just to clarify again, I actually really like the player, they just took him too high.

      11 targets, 3 catches in the SB. KCs scheme shut him down due to his lack of seperation. He doesn't fit anymore as much as we all love him, time to move on if the opportunity shows itself.

    All the top tier OL talent was gone by pick 31. People wanna put all blame the OL for the Super Bowl (yeah the pressure was bad on Brock and i wanted a Round 1 OL going into the draft) but a huge part of the SB loss was Deebo and Kittle unable to get separation/get open at all. This kid comes in as a polished route runner and is an immediate impact player whose biggest talent is pure clean route running. Let’s hope of an OL pick in the 2nd or 3rd!

    Thank you David! Many of these You Tube 49ers Sports reporters hadn't done their homework. If they had watched Chris Simms unbuttomed WR Draft show where one of his "elite" WR's was Ricky Pearsall. Chrir along with Mel Kiper Jr. describe Ricky's abilities and game. He's an excellent WR!

    Deebo also makes the playbook 60% thicker. We were not only handicapped on the physicality that he brings but also on the coaching end. Shannahan looked a little out of of sync when Deebo went down.

    • @samuelault4723
      @samuelault4723 11 дней назад

      Losing deebo mid game means you can’t call the 5-7 “deebo plays” ofc that will make things harder. Look a Brocks rookie year, he didn’t have deebo for most of it (mcl injury) and the offense was putting up 32ppg. They’ll be fine without him.
      Tdlr: planning for and losing is worse than planning without and missing, which is manageable.

    I can't stand mock drafts, beyond the first few guesses it's craps and horseshoes
    Its not often I watch a couple, even on the few channels I do choose to frequent.
    However, once in a while I pay attention for players I may or may not be aware of, their character, position comparison, statistical and intangible ability evaluations.
    Mock that draft popularity contest armchair experts.
    Remember to breathe!
    EDIT: My pick for an all Legends Team on a 52 man game day roster at Slot Wide Receiver would be Steve Smith.

    I think if the dude has a 42” vertical, that makes up for height discrepancies. I don’t know how tall JJ is or how fast his 40 time is, I just know the dude showed he can climb a ladder to make a catch that looks ridiculous and he gets first downs on 3rd downs keeping the chains moving and he blocks like a madman. No effs given about measurable aid you deliver. Kupp and Nacua are 6’2” ~ 205ish that’s 1” and 10 lbs. I’m sure if necessary he could gain some lbs. not to mention Thielen is 6’2” 195 and Edelman 5’10” 198lbs and Danny Amendola is 5’11” 185. They all delivered the mail. Who cares about anything else? I don’t🤷‍♂️

    Deebo and CMC are interchangable, but CMC only costs the 49ers $12 millions/year, and Deebo costs more than twice as CMC. I would keep BA, Juan, Ricky, and Danny Grey. I don't like the way Deebo costs too much and the way Bell drops the balls too many times. Connolly and Taylor can be useful vets WRs.

    😂 Shocking pick, if they keep Deebo n Aiyuk. Why draft a slot WR for 1st rd pick. You should pick the best player available or best player that fills a need. O-Line n D-Line help is needed. Williams is on his last legs. Defense is ranked #12. The O-Line is ranked #20-28. Why resign Jennings if drafting WR. Does if make salary cap sense for 3 WRs. Chiefs moved up to take a speedy WR. The 49ers counter is not a #1 CB or DT/DE that brings rush. This is a head scratcher. Great #1 Bosa, Armistead, Buckner. Questionable #1 Thomas, Kinlaw, Lance. Can't rate this draft yet. Why didn't the Niners trade down? Nobody was picking this guy in 1st rd. NFL draft mock ranked him 47th best player. Underdog ranked him 8th of top 14 WRs. Why not trading down for more picks n still get your player. Hope get more needs later. Hufanga (knee). Greenlaw (knee).

    For the 49ers to draft a receiver in the first round, that almost certainly means Deebo is going elsewhere . I doesn’t make sense to spend that kind of draft capital for a slot or 3rd/4th receiver next year. Especially when they have needs elsewhere.
