    Being in an area with very good cellular service in my area, on a Verizon network (phone), I’ve never had a problem with service with the Render. I will further state that with other cameras in the past, those cameras had a tough time picking up service. The Render has 4 bars consistently. That’s why I’ll buy more in the next few months.

      I've had similar experience. Other brands that didn't work at all. Same tree same height the render sends pictures reliably.

    Thanks for the video. We have used the omni directional antennas and got maybe 1 bar. Definitely helps but I was hoping for more. Might try one of these directional antennas, if I can get over sticker shock. Great info provided in the video.

    How do they work in mountains being in WV I can use cell cameras on maybe the top 1/3 of the ridge but say I need it lower will it boost the signal enough to attach to the service I have a couple hundred yards straight up the mountain?

    • @ExodusOutdoorGear
      @ExodusOutdoorGear  2 года назад

      We don't recommend using Cellular Trail Cameras with any less than 2 bars of service - The Booster antenna won't give you a boost from 0 bars to 2 bars. There has to be signal there for it to boost so If there's no signal there they won't work. We do have a standard return policy of 30 days if you wanted to attempt it!

    How do you know witch direction the tower is? Or just guess and hope it write

    • @chadsyl23
      @chadsyl23 2 года назад +1

      Never guess... with the camera in setup you can see the signal strength icons. Rotate the antenna while you watch the signal strength, stop where it’s the highest.

      Depends on the sku. Inventory updates and news are typically sent out in our newsletter. That’s the best place to stay current with what we have going on.

    He moved that antenna pretty easily. Is there a way to tighten it up after the max signal/best direction is discovered?

    • @chadsyl23
      @chadsyl23 2 года назад

      Yes, just tighten down the nuts on the U bolts. We left them loose to show that you can rotate to find the source of the cell signal.

    I have 204 acres in West Texas. My game cams in the canyon does not get reception. I have reception at a higher level that is about a 1000 ft rise. Would this booster be able to help me?

    My cabin is weird. I have no service one minute and can text later. Then no service. A few minutes later I can make a call. Sometimes I can even send a photo but hardly ever. I put up a booster and pointed it towards the closest tower which is about 2 miles away. I have Verizon service in a Verizon dominated area. The booster did not do much good. Very frustrating and I don't understand why the same location is not consistent. Any ideas anyone ? The other carriers do not work at all.

      Where I hang my camera the signal ( on my camera) fluctuates between 2 and 4 Bars. The camera still sends pic at 2 bars but I noticed at night the bars seem to go up. I believe high traffic hours for the providers make a difference. I've also heard weather conditions will affect it.

      There’s a few phone apps that can provide you with more info on your situation. You need to start with finding out what bands/frequencies are there. Second you need to measure the signal with a dBi measurement. We have another video that talks about all these things.

    It would be a better video if you actually would give db of signal strength. Bars are very arbitrary thus not good info on actual boost.
