There is absolutely no way he was HIV positive at this point, for three primary reasons: 1. In 1985, the knowledge about the virus was in its infancy, and had Earvin played without treatment ( which he would have had to, or it would have been public then like it eventually did become in November 1991) he probably wouldn't have made it to announcement of 1991, much less his 65th birthday in the present. 2. In 1990, he was hit with a paternity suit which required him to take a blood test, and there weren't any abnormalities blood wise then. 3. When his diagnosis became public, it was announced publicly by his physician that the disease had not yet compromised his immune system ( which, if he was positive here, again, he'd have almost certainly developed full blown AIDS by 1991; it's why the announcement was added with emphasis that Magic didn't have AIDS, as in 1991 there was considerable confusion about the distinction).
