We have more details on the Israeli raid into Gaza yesterday that successfully rescued four hostages being held by Hamas. There has also been a flurry of information that we try to parse through as some of the allegations are serious. The hostages talk about being held in the homes of Palestinian civilians and there are suggestions that one of them may have been a former employee of Al Jazeera. There have also been folks claiming the US was directly involved in the operation, but at this point I’ve not seen any evidence to suggest that’s the case.

People seem to be debating whether international law forbids hostage rescues from dense urban areas if it results in high collateral damage. If it does, then international law has been poorly written and needs reworking. Anything else encourages any insane group to kidnap civilians and drag them into well defended urban areas for immunity. Any law that gives immunity to abhorrent illegal behavior is a bad law.

"... During the rescue, they were surrounded by hundreds of armed men, with rpg's, various weapons, etc...". This is what Al Jazeera will call civilians, and make loud complaint to the UN. When they hear a helicopter, civilians all run toward the noise with weapons of war in hand.

When you call Nusyirat a "refugee camp" you should keep in mind that this "camp" has existed for over 70 years, the people who live there were born there - they're not displaced refugees from recent fighting zones. Hamas chooses its words carefully. A prisoner is not the same thing as a hostage. All 4 of these hostages were partygoers who were snatched from a music festival. In what sense are they prisoners? They are not prisoners of war because they were not soldiers engaged in a war, they were civilians having a party, nor are they criminals arrested for a crime who were tried and sentenced. No, they are hostages, people taken into captivity as bargaining chips by a terrorist organisation which can't win a war against a sophisticated well-armed adversary, without playing dirty and committing war crimes. In the lead-up to the elections, on 26 September 2005 Israel launched a campaign of arrests against PLC members. 450 members of Hamas were detained, mostly those involved in the 2006 PLC elections. During the elections, the Israeli authorities banned Hamas from holding election campaigns inside Jerusalem. Rallies and public meetings were prohibited. Palestinian candidates were allowed to campaign in East Jerusalem as long as they registered with Israeli police, but, a police spokesman noted, "Anyone who is a supporter of Hamas will not receive permission." The Israeli police arrested campaigners of Hamas and closed at least three Hamas election offices in East Jerusalem during the campaign. When it became evident that Hamas was set to win the elections anyway, Israel raised the issue with the United States. However, President George W. This time it seems a bit strange that they didn't report numbers of children and women killed. Hamas always presents this number first.
Most logical people run away from gunfight in a warzone...
So my intuition tells me that most of those killed were fighting age men trying to stop the Israelis.

What is going on in this video? How many times did you repeat that there is no evidence about obviously BS claims made on social media? I've rarely heard you mention a lack of evidence about claims made by Hamas, which are often even more outrageous. Instead, you've started including their quotes verbatim in every video, generally without push-back.
It's not an accusation. I just genuinely don't understand what the thinking behind it is.

How are you going to aggregate data without consuming all of it? Additionally, if you're only viewing one side... how are you getting the whole picture?

Preston I respect that you want to remain neutral. With that said, why does it matter if the pier is being used to bring in humanitary aid and also save hostages? If they are going to attack the pier, they are only herding the people they were elected to protect. Feel free to discuss how any enemy combat that fires upon troops makes everybody around them valid targets. Everybody knows they were going to turn against the United States eventually I don’t know why you just can’t call terrorist a terrorist. While I appreciate that you are fairly new at this, when in the history of warfare has decided who was attacked required to defend their actions when trying to save their citizens who are admittedly being held, tortured, and killed daily?
Be more like Spencer call it as it is without fear of having the hamasniks turn on you.

I personally would like to say sorry for the loss of innocent civilians who were used by Hamas as human shields m, but I don’t think that the Israeli army has done anything wrong since the Palestinian civilians knew about the hostages being held in their residence yet they were quiet instead!
Remember that the Israeli army kept saying that they would not fight if their hostages were left to their families, but the Hamas didn’t mind thinking they had the last day in the conflict.
You can’t fight the blacksmith who could use any of his work tools to hurl at you. Iranian government is misleading your citizens in Gaza and Rafah, so don’t take orders from the Iranian government if you’re not their citizens.
