Skywalk Arak - SIV

- I'm a paragliding beginner stepping up from my beloved U-Turn Emotion 2 (EN-A) to the Skywalk Arak (mid EN-B). I made most of the maneuvres and I feel no big difference between the gliders comportement. The Arak is slightly more agile. But you'll finde a huge difference in glide ratio and trim speed. It's a really good wing for me.
I did many frontal collapses too - but they're not on video - they're as easy as the asymetrical. The start is much easyer since the wing is lighter than my old one. It tends to overshoot in strong wind but it's easy to catch it. In thermals or turbulent air the wing tells you what happens next before it happens. A very good feeling that I was missing in my EN-A glider. It was so solid I got surprised by collapses. Here the wing tells you way ahead and you have time enough to react. A competely new feeling.
So I'm very very happy with the wing. I posted this video to help desciscion making when buying a new wing. I was looking desperately for more videos on new wings. It's not ment as a show off of my skills. Since I know I'm still stepping up and there's a looooot to learn yet.
For any questions leave me a comment. I try to respond.
Nice video! Good to hear you like the ARAK. Wishing you many more nice flights on it.
Thank you very much and keep up the good work!
Nice big collapse 🤘🏼
Thanks mate. A new video will be coming soon...
Nice video! It's true, I'm that type of person looking for every video of the Arak wing. I have decided to move from my Niviuk Koyot 3 (A wing) to the Arak. Thanks for share your opinion that firm up my decision. Best regards!
Thanks Andrés, I hope you'll be as happy as me with the wing. And what I really recommend is to make an SIV once you got a little used to the wing.
Always happy landings!
Andrés Arriagada Pinto check my profile for couple of arak videos ☝🏼
haha those big ears ^^
Haha, the spiral was scary as hell... :-)
Hi, how many hours did you spend on a school glider before you moved to Arak?
I think I have had 80-100 flights wih approximately 30-40hrs... not much. I did 1 SIV on my school glider...
Is the strength you need to put in a collapse comparable to your old EN-A?
Since the wing is a little bit smaller the strength needed is a little bit bigger, but it's almost the same. Compared to my scholar wing I have less collapses in turbulent air because I feel the wing much better and I'm quicker to react...
Skywalk still can't design a wing with proper big ears capabilities.. it's a shame. Arak could have been a great wing
These are bigbigears with 2 A lines. If you do normal big ears with only 1 line it's OK. But I agree it's something that could be a little better. But I don't know many who do big ears with 2 A Lines...
@@transalps I've flown the Arak and tried some big ears with 1 line.. ears unsatisfyingli little and also clapping a lot. The same with the beginner wing mescal 5. It's "Skywalks sin" if I may say
