Had to leave a comment and a like on this VOD too! ------ SPOILERS BELOW FOR FELLOW COMMENTERS!!! ------- Emmrich is the best part of this game. I have really enjoyed the catharsis of witnessing someone else as taken with him as I. xD I've noticed that even playthroughs where someone isn't really liking the game or feels so-so finds Emmrich a charming highlight of this game. I chose to bring back Manfred because I JUST saw Emmrich fawning over Manfred learning how to speak, even dropping to a knee like getting eye level with a kid who's just done a parent so proud. Usually I would want to honor someone's sacrifice and generally feel that's the right choice. Not to mention the lich lords would only be better with someone like Emmrich among them. But on the other hand, eternity is a long time to miss your adopted son, and I didn't like the idea of giving in to your fear to the point of actually achieving immortality. If anyone deserves it, it's probably someone as kind as Emmrich. But I just couldn't, so I brought Manfred back! But I think choosing lichdom makes sense for a Mourn Watch Rook. I think a way to make Emmrich's quests better is having more one-on-one conversation scenes and having the ability to influence his decisions through debating the topic. We could learn more about the Necropolis and Mourn Watcher life, as well as learning more about the liches, what they do, and where Emmrich could fit among them vs the ways he could embrace mortality. And then HE would make the decision based on our choices. Also, I wasn't sure Emmrich would pass a 'final sifting' of his morals if he gave into fear vs coming to terms with his death over the course of his story. I didn't like that I had to choose something so big for him. But then... on the other hand, I did like that he trusted my Rook so much that at a point of complete indecision he turned to us! lol
