Thank you! File structures are always confusing on tablets, i appreciate the help on that and I'm new to iPads and Loopy Pro, so with the various videos you've done.

Yes. I am very used to working on PCs so mobile devices still confound me daily. I'm just glad Apple finally gave in an decided to actually give us access to ipad files a few ios versions back. That has made all of these kinds of tinkering possible at least.

aaaaahhh BOOOM! you hit the nail on the bloody head, nice one mate. So basically If I have a button saying open set list, The setlist I saved as a project, I can open as an auv3, with buttons to every song that our band plays. I click on the button which will open that file!

    • @LiveLoopers
      @LiveLoopers  5 месяцев назад

      Not exactly.
That was the one use where I found it wasn't worth the work for me. If you just want to pop open a text set list that can work in a Loopy AU or maybe an app like Session Notes would be better. If you want a bunch of launch buttons to open the different song files I found that was actually easier to do in the song files themselves rather than make a module menu.
(Because the module can only load things inside the module. So then I tried having the button in the module send a midi code back to the main Template on a hidden page with receivers for the button press that would then get the main template to launch the new project inside itself, but I realized at this point it would be way easier to just make a menu in the main Template and cut and paste it into all of the individual songs.
      Your milage may vary.)

This is genius, thanks for sharing :D. solves my dilemma of not buying loopy pro yet because there was no way to save track presets.

Awesome. It was a real game changer for me when I discovered this was possible.

I used your modules and I love them. I modified the play module to my taste, just the circle of 5ths. I also changed the chord structure a bit so they were all in the same range. Then I added a little button too left of each square that plays the bass note of that chord. Def inspired me to make my own loopy template. I’ve an adopted a one BIG loopy button that is my record, then I bump that to whatever track it needs to go to. I find that easier than trying to hit the “right” donut on the fly.

Oh man that sounds AWESOME! I would love to see those modifications some time. That is exactly the kind of direction I hoped someone would take these things.

@@LiveLoopers for sure! I’ve got a bit more work to do on it, new baby so time is limited. Where’s the best place to share it with you when I like where it’s at?

And thanks. Making the background music might actually be the most enjoyable part. It's all fun, but really I just wanted to have fun making music every day.

cool idea to have a sharing community for modules! that sounds very natural, maybe some Reddit forums and FB groups will pop up for that. also helpful that you're giving clear instructions
also did i hear you say that you used to program? 👀 (if so, what kinds of projects, and which languages?)

    • @LiveLoopers
      @LiveLoopers  8 месяцев назад +1

      That's a cool idea.
I used to make shareware games and simple graphics editors on PC usually in BASIC, I do web coding still in PHP and MYSQL and did a bunch of mainframe coding a long time ago in various languages.

Somebody should make a really cool Loopy Pro Module specifically for vocal live loopers. Some kind of really cool tool box that makes things nice and simple for beatboxers and singers and all kinds of vocals.

As time goes on and you get more into Loopy pro you will be making it yourself
The really difficult bit is making one that has all the functionality you’re describing yet is also simple, the two often clash good luck

All of my templates have the microphone turned off. I don't even have a good interface for connecting an XLR/mic to an ipad. I'm pretty sure it's not going to be me any time soon.
I plug my mic into my amp then my ipad into my AMP and then have a good time. There is no mic noise to contend with in my loops ever. Plugging I mic into the ipad I'm happy to leave to other people.

Excellent Live loopers first , please Read my edit
As far as I get it the concept is about Sharing just a section (module) of a template/ project. Pretty brilliant,
magically independent modules that can be lifted straight into your project/Template Awesome.
Now What I fell down on big time was all the extra file tweaking that’s going on under the bonnet Alex kind of where I fell ,,Sorry I have to I turn back here it’s getting beyond me being a humble musician of limited brain capacity😅 But big BUT This is where modules come to the rescue, If It’s beyond me then why not purchase one and put it into my project 😊Yes Alex Yes please.
If there is any up and coming modules to be available Please add some form of purchase or pay pal donation link thingy It would be truly worth a fiver at the very least.
Sure we all know you would just give us it free because your Alex but give us the means to give something back to you man , It’s the very least we can all do,I think that
I Hopefully speak for your whole community
    Take care
    Andy ❤ peace 🙏

That's kind of the idea. I first started playing with the idea because I wanted a part of my Loopy stuff to always remain on the screen even if I flipped to a different page. So a Loopy Pro module can stay put as you flip to your B page or your C page or whatever. That was the first benefit I was looking for and I was so thrilled when it worked.
But now a second benefit is something like my play time module took me hours and days and weeks to make. Going in an putting in a MIDI command for each and every note one at a time was very time consuming. Now I can just give that work that I did out and other people can just have it available in a module if it is useful to them in some way and they doing have to spend days and days reinventing a wheel that I already did. Or they can use what I did as a jumping off point and redesign it to their needs but at least have what I did as a head start instead of having to start from zero.
It definitely isn't important to the enjoyment of Loopy Pro. The vast majority of Loop Musicians can and will get along just fine without ever using a module. But if people what something to stay on the screen even if they flip pages or share pieces of templates without having to share a whole template I'm just trying to help the process with that.

I completely missed the part about the module having the ability to stay on screen independently regardless of the page that is very useful I guess that’s why we depend on your ability to push things constantly forward and enlighten us.
      Thank you
As long as you are happy to do so and it is not stopping you from advancing as a musician it’s great stuff.
