People can call this an "entry level shoe" but dudes have been steady squatting 600 lbs or more in Adidas Powerlifts all the way back to the 3s. These are literally the perfect power lifting shoe. Even if you have good ankle mobility, squatting in these shoe will only make you better. If you don't have good ankle mobility; these will help without having you depend solely on a large heel of a .75 or 1 inch shoe.
Thanks for the reviews! I've been squatting for many years, always with running shoes... :S Looking at moving to a weight lifting shoe but would be ideal if I can also use it for rowing machine as I spend many hours on there, I'm an athlete more than a straight lifter so based on your comments that these could be used for WOD I'm going with these instead of power perfect.
Going back to my powerlift 3.1s from the Leistungs. Finally realized the 1” heel isn’t for me. May upgrade to the Addipowers tho after they’re out and you review them
I wish I watched this before I bought mine. The heel feels noticably lower than my regular running shoes. You have an accurate review of the shoe though.
Harrison Lee, These are weightlifting shoes. Not running shoes. Totally different categories. You do not want to lift in running shoes. An alternative to lifting shoes would be the Converse Chuck Taylors. Flat and supportive.
i'm looking into getting a new shoe from reebok crossfit lifters. planning on doing a powerlifting competition and want to get used to a new shoe. would you say the best lifting shoes are the powerlift 3 or power perfect 3? would you recommend another shoe besides these for competion/training? thanks for your reviews! they're always great!
I wear an 11 in the Powerlift 4 shoe (but prefer the 0.75" heel lift). My foot is neither narrow nor wide. Would a size 10 or 10.5 be best for the Power Perfect 3?
Considering buying this shoe but I just want to ask you if I should or not. Currently I am squatting 100kg(225lbs)+ for reps but I am looking to do more weight but I sometimes every couple of months do one rep maxes. Also if I was to get these the main exercises I would use these for are Squats and Push press. Do you think these shoes would be valid for someone who just really looking for some better squat shoes to do back squats and push press only ? Many Thanks
I'm looking to buy my first pair of lifting shoes - only for squats and deadlifts. I'll likely go 1-2x my bodyweight, which will be up to 300lb. So do I choose based on total weight or % of bodyweight? Based on the numbers, woud you say powerlift 4 or powerlift 3 or power perfect 3? Thanks
Something like this would be fine for your usage but I would recommend the Power Perfect 3, Powerlift 3, then Powerlift 4 just in terms of what the better shoes are. These aren't bad, but the others are better.
What shoe would you suggest for heavy compound lifts including deadlifts and squats? My main issue is lack of stability and traction on the soles especially in seated exercises such as shoulder press. Also during benching, my feet slip. Thanks in advance.
Flat shoes (converse or wrestling shoes) for deadlift/bench, squat shoes (Adidas power perfect or adipowers) for squat/bench. Shoes don’t matter as much on bench.
Hey Joel, thanks for the review! Can I just point out the D-ring is actually metal, and it just has a matte paint on it for a better fit with the shoe, so lifters should have 100% confidence that it's solid. :)
If I’m a uk10 in Nikes trainers running If I’m Uk10 Addidas boasts What size should I get for these I ordered the uk9 super tight I got uk9.5 Fits but to tight again so it’s either 10 or 10.5 I am ?? Which would you say. ?
my friend wants these.... she does crossfit and has metcons for her WOD's she just wants some cheap lifters for squats and snatches..... she can get these new for £50 atm is this a good deal?
I have romaleo 2s at the moment but I feel like the heel height is too high and I want something lower would this be the next best thing? I don’t do oly lifts these would just be for squats.
As Many Reviews As Possible idk David woolson and chance Mitchell both have waaaaaay bigger squats than me and I don’t think they have issues with the Eva not being able to take the load
@Dalton Lingl I had the exact same problem you’re having. Romaleos 2 were too high of a heel. I’ve tried 2 shoes that were great, & I think Joel would agree (since he has reviewed both of them) : 1- Powerlift 2 or 3. & 2- Adidas Crazy Power Cross-trainers. The Crazy Powers have a TPU/plastic heel. They feel very stable & very comfortable. A couple of years ago they were selling for as low as $50 on Amazon. I’m not sure about pricing now. Adidas had also made an upgrade to the shoe with adding a sock-like upper that extends over the ankles; I have not tried that version, but it seems like it would make the shoe easier to put on. In any case, both suggestions I mentioned have a heel height that’s around “0.60-65 ; so you should feel more comfortable with them for squats.
Bằng Đinh Kim it’ll help a bit, not as much as a fully fledged weightlifting shoe will though. I’d find something with a taller heel and less flexible construction - the Power Perfect 3 is a great entry level WL shoe
I low bar squat I can't decide between these and the power perfect threes. I feel like a bigger heel on the powerperfect 3s is better ? I'm not sure what would you say?
I mean no disrespect when I say that from my untrained eye, it just seems that the shoes seem a bit big for you when you work out with them in the third part of the video - are my eyes playing trickery on me or do they fit tightly/securely? Secondly, these will potentially be my first pair of weight lifting shoes - is the heel raise noticeable? I have *just* started powerlifting and I use a pair of Adidas Gazelles - the soles are flat all the way through and made of solid rubber, but I definitely feel my heels want more support/raise. Kind regards!
PartiZAn18 they are not at all big. I literally just worked out in them and my toes are almost at the front. A lot of the times I wear my shoes loose because I’m lazy. You will definitely notice the increase in heel height coming from something like that. It’ll feel manufactured at first but you’ll get used to it
Yes. These shoes suit a low bar squat as long as your stance isn't ridiculously wide, which isn't advisable anyway due to the strain it puts on your hips.
What knee sleeves are you wearing at 9 min? I’m looking for some sleeves that can support and keep my knees warm without having them give me too much of a bounce when in the hole on a squat.
These shoes are for squatting mostly. Cheap Chuck Taylor's are better for deadlifting. You don't want any heel elevation on dls, even if these shoes only have average heel elevation (which makes them usable for low bar squats).
Im.not saying it ia for some , curently my deads are 300kg ive hit wall and struggling My squat is 220 wichis shitter than last years and my bench is 180 ..been training years and came 3rd nabba ..im 17.4 and 12 bodyfat atm

These look great but I have to say that I'm really feeling the blue colorway.
i realize it is pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online?
@Brett Lochlan i use Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
@Gibson Houston definitely, I have been using Flixzone for years myself =)
@Gibson Houston thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I appreciate it !!

this will be at the same level that the Reebok lifter PR, right?
I bought these for weightlifting.

Thanks for the video. Just got my first pair. Do you recommend me doing calf exercises in them.
I wish I watched this before I bought mine. The heel feels noticably lower than my regular running shoes. You have an accurate review of the shoe though.
Harrison Lee regular running shoes are going to have a pretty high stack height but the effective heel to toe drop is probably higher with these.
Harrison Lee,
These are weightlifting shoes. Not running shoes. Totally different categories. You do not want to lift in running shoes. An alternative to lifting shoes would be the Converse Chuck Taylors. Flat and supportive.

If the 11 fits well, stick with size 11. Adidas sizing is very uniform across all their shoes.

N00b here- if I’m a perfect fit in a nano 9 men’s size 12.5. Which size should I get in these?
what do you mean you can't find anywhere that tells you the heel height, the adidas site says its 15mm which is also .59 inches
2 years ago when I did this review, it wasn’t stated on the site.
I have very flat feet. Do you recommend or think these would work good for squatting and stuff with flat feet?
Have you seen the Tokyo colourways? I jst got the red ones they are beautiful

Powerlift3 because they hold your feet better.

if you're heels aren't touching the ground that's an ankle mobility issue. Not a "shoe" issue lmfaoooooo
