I was also very curious since the teaser last year as to what this game actually would be, but anything by Annapurna gets my attention. This definitely is NOT what I expected, I thought maybe more a text based adventure game a la Kentucky Route Zero, but this has me pleasantly surprised. This game was on my wishlist last year right after I got my PS5 anyways, so yeah, this will be a day 1 for me. The “Doc” character…Back To The Future Doc Brown reference! I really enjoy how they have you interact through the little drone…that was definitely a cute touch and really opens what they can do with interactions with other characters in the game rather than anthropomorphising the cat, which I really hoped they wouldn’t do, and looks like they didn’t! You do realize that when describing Twinkle and her just doing her own thing that you basically described EVERY cat, right?!?! I like pets in general, but I’ve always been partial to cats. We had 3 different strays we picked up growing up (and a dog at one point), and my ex and I had 2 strays we picked up and a stray dog (and a 3rd cat was a friend’s who dropped him off when he was deployed, but didn’t pick him up until a year after he was back. We really did not wish to give him back then…). Anyways, my last pet, my cat Luna, passed away a couple years ago and I hadn’t the heart for another pet yet. She was with me through the hardest parts of my life so when she passed it was really hard on me…every now and again I will think I see slight movement in my peripheral and my mind immediately tells me oh that’s just Luna…and then I have to do a double take when I remember, no, she’s gone, I’m just seeing things. But in the meantime I do housesit for my other family members on occasion and between my two sisters and my mom…that’s another 6 cats and 2 dogs I spend time with here and there (not much since the pandemic started though.) Have you looked at another Annapurna PS5 game out this year, I think, Solar Ash? Besides Maquette that is, as you already played that and I STILL plan on picking it up sometime. Oh yeah, Tales of Arise demo comes out tomorrow and a DLC for Mortal Shell is out tomorrow too. Moral Shell is a great soulslike game if you are unfamiliar and the dlc is free until the 23rd (5 days), so if you were thinking about the game at all, now would be the time to pick it up (its worth it and it has a PS5 Enhanced Edition already out.)
This isn't what I was expecting either! But I knew I would love it no matter what style just because of how cute the concept is. The drone is a great touch, I just about melted when it showed a heart for it's friend the cat. Very cute play on that other game you mentioned (I'm forgetting the name right now but I have it written down somewhere around here... the other one with the guy and his robot friend... haha). I too am happy about their choice with that. Hahaha I know! But seriously, she is extra grumpy now that she's so old. She walks around the house meowing at the top of her lungs for no reason, asks to be let outside only to come back in two minutes later... alright, I guess that still sounds like all cats. But it's different from when she was younger. I should tell some more stories about her, she was quite the badass young cat. She took on raccoons on the regular. Wow that's a lot of cats, that sounds wonderful. Except the having to give one back, I can imagine how hard it was to let him go after bonding for all that time. I am so sorry to hear about Luna, it is awful to lose a pet. They really become family, and she sounds very important and so supportive. I hope one day you can let another cat into your heart. Yes I've watched the trailer! It looks like a great game too. The trailer was part of another showcase that I actually reacted to but I never ended up using the video. My reaction was positive though! I'll take some time to check it out then! I wasn't planning on getting it but if I like it then I just might.

And yeah, i know what you mean; there are traits that seem to be inherent to all cats, but they are just like people, they have their own personalities and just like us they can change too. Yeah, my entire immediate family, excluding my dad, is like a magnet for stray animals. They seem to know that we won’t turn them away, so most of our pets were not planned, just sort of happy accidents. At the very least I try to take them to the SPCA when they appear in need or lost and I can’t take them in myself. Luna was another example, but she was found not by me but in a friend’s yard with the mom and the entire litter. She brought in pictures to work to try and find homes, I saw the picture and immediately said oh she’s mine! Luna was the runt, but also the most ferocious one. She never did get very big either; even as an adult she was only 6lbs and did not look like a fully grown cat. Vets were always surprised when I told them her age in years later on and not months! Even her meows were small and quiet like younger cats. Anyways…I was the only person she liked. She would literally follow me to every room in the house and always had to be in the same room as me. If she was sleeping and I left, she would either wake up immediately and come after me or she would come out like 5 minutes later to find me. Even to the bathroom…I tried locking her out when actually using it, but she would just sit on the other side and yell at me and paw at the door the entire time. She didn’t like others though…she wouldn’t hide or run away, she would stay by my side, but wouldn’t let them pet her for more than 5 seconds before swiping at them in warning. My ex was the only other person she tolerated, but didn’t follow her around. She did let her pet her and sometimes sleep on her lap. Luna also used to climb up the back of my desk chair to sit on my shoulder…granted she was small, but still that’s 6 lbs on your shoulder…not very comfortable after 20 minutes or so. That and the tiny little punctures all up the back of the chair…her claws were much smaller than normal adult cats and seemed much sharper! But she passed away way too young…nothing the vets could do. Anyways…I think you are talking about Titanfall 2 maybe…? if not, I’m at a complete loss! And believe me I know what you mean…I have more than enough games to play at any given time myself and given how sporadic I play each new game just piles up my backlog even more!

I 100% agree, too many games these days have bloated dialogues and cutscenes and over the top sort of humor and characters, don't get me wrong some of them turn out to be rather charming, usually when they are made by indie devs, but most of the times they are just plain annoying. Games that are more focused on show rather than tell, really do it for me. Soulsborne games or dishonored ,for example. I'm sorry about Luna, It can be tough losing a pet, I don't really know how it feels like but I hope you're doing well mate.
@@prometheus2101 Aye, you are right on that front. If done well they can be great games, but a lot of them are more just as you said. I’m finding that to me a lot of Japanese originated games seem to fall in the latter which is probably the heavy reliance on anime influences, but again not all. Not from a Japanese studio, but I think the newest R & C game is a good example of doing it right, it hit just the right amount of silliness vs. seriousness whereas I didn’t really feel that way with he 2016 one. Thanks, I appreciate it; as Amanda said if you let them they can become one of the family so losing them can be rough. She’s been gone long enough now though that I don’t really look back in sadness, but fondness, like most of us do after a time when we lose members of our family be they blood or not. I’ve lost plenty of friends and family just as we all have or will eventually, human or not, and we all cope in different ways, but the important thing is to look past any regrets and just see the good they shared with you while they were around, you know unless they were terrible individuals who brought others nothing but misery.
@@reis9734 so far my pets have been none too enthused by joining my gaming streams, but maybe I can warm them up to it. Yes every pet I have had (and I've had a lot) has had it's own distinct personality. It makes every animal that comes into our home so special. I've had a few unplanned pets myself, including a couple ferrets and literally dozens of degus (we were given two degus, we thought they were both male, they were not). It is a good feeling to give a lost animal a loving home. My dog Winston was a stray, he had a very tough run before he came to us and having a safe home has changed his entire demeanor. Luna sounds like a lovely soul. It's the small cats that always have the most courage and the most heart. My other cat (who no longer lives with us, which is a funny story) was the runt (and Twinkle's sibling) and she had the silliest personality. Twinkle is a very small cat despite being normal sized at birth, and she felt like a kitten even long into adulthood. But she is full of bravery and never shied from a fight against larger animals. Yes that's the one! Someday I'll play all the games I want to play, except by then I'll have tons of new games I want to play.
What will they come up with next? Thx for showing us this.it will be different but cool. I like cats i had 1 when I was younger. I feel like a old stray cat sometimes, hey your new cat is so lucky to have you.
