That was great to watch. Just changed my fuel pump the other day. It really needs the battery tray removing to get decent access. I've also noticed that some motor factors will give me a fuel filter with a plastic drain on the bottom. These will not fit as they end up being to tall and foul the bonnet when shut. I've had this problem with them every time and insist they look again for an alternative filter . I also always have trouble refitting the air filter cover. I can never get it right first time. That strange noise sounds like a worn crank pulley to me. The rubber is separating from the inner and outer halves could be perished. (i could be wrong). Many thanks for sharing your vlogs here on RUclips.
If you pour some water over the crank pulley it will quieten it down momentary by dampening the separated rubber. This can help in diagnosing it. The 75,s are a great car and will keep mine for as long as can. 🚗👍🚗
Well I don´t know what Rover 75 maint. manual say, but I think is a good idea fill filter previusly as high as posible instalation. Electric pump don´t work soo long.
Heyyy 😃 just found Great watching a lady working on a car 🚗 maybe I can too lol my 75 ran out diesel ... got it started again but keeps stalling and it’s an Auto. Finally broke down 200 yards from friends home. Thought try diesel filter first. Both lift pumps seem to be humming nicely. But Main injector pump groaning.. probably just empty .. any advice?you google new subscriber.. how do you SAVE you Simon
Hi thanks for watching. might be worth changing the filter. The injector pump may be faulty but don't quote me lol. The fuel gauge can also be a bit iffy, I have had problems when it gets to 1/3 of a tank.
Did that new pump quieten down? Sounded awful (through my phone speaker at least), Perhaps keep the old one and the tools to fit it in the car for a while, might save you a recovery 🙊. Enjoyed watching both parts, you have demonstrated that you can still do straightforward maintenance on an older but fairly complex car without specialist kit or knowledge and save yourself some dosh.

It did after it had primed. Also the filter would have been empty hence why it took so long to start. Yes I will keep the old pump just in case. 👍
Can you help me to take out the thermostat on the 75 1.8 petrol k series thanks
I don't know much about the 1.8 k series sorry, but I would ask over at Robson Rover Repair channel. He knows much more than me.
