There was a time..... and young people wouldn't understand this..... when Lindor would have been the favorite to win the MVP right now. It was the time when bunts were common and the hit and run was a tool used to find holes in the infield for hitters. The DH was not regarded as a worthy candidate for such an award because they only grab a bat and step to the plate. They aren't required to play good defense and make dramatic defensive plays. The work load is significantly less for a DH than a shortstop or even any regular defensive position. Yes..... Ohtani has had a remarkable year with the home runs and stolen bases. I assure you.... however.....that many of the greatest baseball minds.... past and present..... would favor Lindor as MVP over Ohtani.
agree, and let's be honest....that Dodgers team would be great without Ohtani too. but where would the Mets be without Lindor? that's what an MVP is supposed to be
All these years listening to you Evan...1st time hearing Dick Mountain...and died😅😅😊
Hey! When you’ve been a Met fan as long as I’ve been (1968), you somewhat, become immune to certain expectations and if they’re positive, ok! If not, we move on. But I have to say, seeing what I’ve been seeing in these last 10 games, Mende just might’ve discovered something in the Lab that just might work. And you’re right! Don’t put everything on the Braves. There’s 2 other teams that can hit the skids and hand it right to us!
It's honestly scary all this winning and no wildcard.
Mets can't win every game wtf
I have nothing against the Red Sox or their fans. I just love my METS❤. I can’t say the same for Yankees fans.
Can’t hate them enough. Sorry. They’ve earned it.
Talk about a lottery winning ticket. Jesse Winker. An addition that has truly worked out. LETS GO METS ❤
He was always a good player, not surpised.
Why isn’t the sign lit up?
The question for me concerning Fujinama is not whether or not he's been pitching good for some stretch lately but has he turned a new page in his career and has he finally found his formula. If he has found it, then most definitely do I want him to finally get that call up and the guy I would remove is Ottavino. If Fuji has finally clicked boy, the Mets bullpen can become so much more of a stopping force. If Nuñez comes back strong and they add a Fujinama that has clicked, that's going to be powerful. Maybe Fuji is going to click at just the right time.
With Mendoza I have no issue with how he managed the bullpen. The same way the team needs Diaz to be Diaz, well, they need Garret, Huascar and Stanek to be what they can also be. Those guys are forces to be reckoned with when they are pitching like they're capable of.
I've been hoping for Fujinama all season long and I'm getting that sense that he can click with his stuff in time to get added to the roster just in time.
Megil is still becoming who and what he's going to be. He's in between looking to be aggressive and dominant and also not trying to use all his power and learn to pitch to go deeper in games.
I was studying his pitch sequences and he was throwing different sequences to almost every hitter. I still think he has the stuff to be an ace but he could be blooming later as he is still finding himself. I think he's still finding himself and still evolving.
How long did it take Peterson to emerge? Well it could very well be another similar case for Megil. I believe he has ace stuff on the inside of him.
Don't be surprised if 1 of these days Megil turns it on and starts pitching like an ace. 🙂
Megill has the tools to be a very good 2. He seems to have mental issues. I really think he needs to get mean and pitch to the opponent like a bulldog. Go after them hard.
Diaz pitches better when he's not shelved too long....... they needed him to pitch tonight. When he gets too much rest he isn't comfortable in the mound
I definitely get it but it’s crunch time. He needs to be ready when called upon when he needs to be used. If he can’t do that.. we are in trouble. When it comes to crunch time all rituals and preferences are thrown out the window. You bring in starters from the bullpen. You play catchers everyday. It’s time to put up or shut up. (And I know he’s prob still getting back from the injury and believe it’s true.)
@@mattrasp1615 I agree.....but he's been good since the Arizona mess he created
@@johncummings5350 hey… think about where we were after that loss. We should have won 9 in a row. But here we are. We fight on. LFGM. We might actually be the team “you don’t want to play” in the playoffs
i thought the same thing the other day. after that game where he blew the save against SD, he came right back the next night and looked like '22 Diaz. use him often, Mendy, but still try to use him in normal save situations as much as possible
@@mattrasp1615 They're already a team nobody wants to oppose in the playoffs. The Mets lineup is deep and they have a good bench.
Positive Tommy should be a guest on the show
Nunez is coming back too
Is Vientos eligible for NL ROTY ?
Im a Met fan but u all no the Braves find a way to do it to us all the time. I hope not believe me but it always happens

LGMS! If we can keep it going eventually the Braves are going to lose. The Dodgers are coming for them and there in the wrong lane
Typical Alonso at bat take the first pitch strike one foul ball 2 then curve ball on outside strike 3

I still think, this team woke up to late. We need to win every game instead our rivals can afford to lose sometimes.
Not sure how much better we can expect this team to be. If they get to 88/89 wins and just miss out on a wild card spot it will be frustrating but this is about a good a team with these flaws and profile can play over the last 3 months

Other then the Winker anomaly of the grandslam, it seems the only way these Mets get runs in with bases loaded are walks. They continue to strike out at the worst times.
