@@Brandonian3030 Yeah I had shin splints, took 2 weeks off and got the Clifton 6 and I'm all good now, those shoes are very light but have a lot of cushion I would definitely recommend them as well
Make sure you are getting roughly 35 to 40 mins or more in your doubles or there isn’t much aerobic benefit. If you are using them as a shakeout then I wouldn’t do over 20 because you can shakeout in 20mins. Make sure you all now why you are doing something. Don’t hit double for the sake of just hitting a double. For credibility I am a 2:21:07 marathon guy in my first marathon where I coached myself, and I have coached a few sub 3:00 hours guys.
Carolina Lopez yes if you are interested email coach.krage@roadrunnertrainingprojects.com or check out the website, but i am working on improving the website.
My running coach is a former Olympic runner and she recommends 2 runs a day whether that be a speed workout+easy run or easy run+easy run if you are prone to injury. Two runs a day gives your body more time to recover between runs rather than going on a long run that could potentially lead to straining something or overuse injury. I have been doing this for 4 out of my 5 years of running and it has helped tremendously with injuries. Hopefully, this helps someone! Great videos Nick!
it's one of the best ways to release stuck energy, process problems, harden your mind over pain and push your comfort zone/boundaries. I never enjoyed running until this past year until I found people like yourself Nick. Embracing the suck has been profound, experiencing the other side of that has shown me how much I would shy away from it. I'd enjoy the suck if it came to weightlifting but never endurance.
Just did my 1st 7.2 mile EVER in my life at 1hr 30min this morning. My last run was 5.4 and man after 5 miles I felt like dying every step lol 😭. One month ago I wouldn't even dare run 4 miles so growth is actually moving fairly quick its just pushing through the pain everytime to go beyond your last run. And once you do that your previous distances are easier.
@@ingmarneple6072 do you find that there is a measurable carryover in aerobic endurance from biking that positively affects your running? If so how much?
Always love the content. Just purchased my first package of supplements. You should do a video on mobility, stretching and what you do to recover quicker if you haven't already. 💪🏻
Hey Nick love your vids! Just a quick pointer, if you wear your hat the other way round, it blocks more sunlight from reaching your face. Keep up the awesome work and vids brother
LOL, the dynamics of the team cracks me up. Near the end you see one team member flex as he walks through the back shot of Nick. Moments later a second team member starts walking into shot and quickly retreats out of view. Love it.
Glad to see the vegan protein powder - I haven't tried the vegan BPN powder yet, but adding a frozen banana greatly enhances other vegan protein powders
Turquoiz idk if it’s just because I’m short but I just start dying after that two mile mark my shins start hurting and my legs are in pain the next day after running that much
Rafael Cendejas run more at a slower pace. Also if you aren’t warming up, do some dynamic warmups. Then run comfortable to build mileage. That 2 miles at 8:30 pace will be cake in a few weeks. Also I’m short too, about 5’3 or something. Weigh around 145 running 35+ miles a week around 7:20/mi. Work hard, see results 👍🏻
The intent of running 2 times a day is to build a good base. A good base leads to good speed workouts which leads to a better time on your marathon and 5K races
Good advice on doubles. Also general advice here: I started running again due to the whole covid thing. Started running 3 times a week with average mileage of 6-7 miles for each run. I ran a half marathon on mothers day after which my right knee felt funny. I rested and ran 9 miles again 5 days later which was a big mistake. Now I have a runners knee and cannot run at all as I am currently undergoing PT. Moral of the story is to increase your mileage gradually else you will pay like me. I would even advise to target pace over distance as maintaining a certain pace over a longer distance is more important than blindly chasing mileage.
I've been doing double days consistently for a few weeks and I can see a meaningful difference in my long run quality. My body is less fatigued, and it's allowed me to increase my mileage without feeling dead.
Please please please find a UK distributor!! Love the content Nick, I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels inspired, motivated and educated from every single video you make. Thanks for putting the time in to share your knowledge and business. I'd love to support your brand, but the cost of shipping and additional taxes getting your products delivered to England, makes it unaffordable for me. Keep up the good work and great content
@@johnathanhardee6953 Thats true. Im from NYC so it's just street running lol. No wildlife out here! I also run before sunrise to avoid people and cars.
I have been adding these to my day as well as your win the day go one more motto. I get up at 04:00 and just go for a run between 5 or 6 miles. Eat an English muffin strong greens and reds and off the the fire station. Lunch time I knock out 2 or 3 miles followed by a sand bag workout of the day from brute force. Our station doesn't have a gym so the bags have became my go too for strength training. Any word of advice to better my routine???
Hydrate a lot before like in the mornings if you run in the morning. slow it down atleast an hour before running and drink a little before you actually run
Nick,a lot of us have been out of the gym for several weeks. Could you put in a video a good way to get back into the gym? Re intro/ know the rust off workout? Thanks.
I'm still interested in your thougt regarding aspartame which is in that carys syrup as far as health goes. Also please!!! Do a video on ALL your go-to breakfast/lunch/dinner options and snacks you may have.
i competed in para-athletics in HS (wheelchair sports) track and basketball, depending on the time of year. i ran doubles daily when it was track season. not nearly the distances you're doing it but i probably did 3-5 mile splits. i wasn't running marathons at nationals and the longest road race i ever did was a 10k so i didn't need to go that hard. it's definitely worth the effort tho.
Looking back at your time in the military, do you wish that your training was similar to how it is now (primarily endurance mixed with strength workouts) or how you trained while in service?
