Noticed your coolant tank looks pretty nasty.Id change the water pump..150$..new coolant tank 80$..thermostat 20$..Flush the whole block cooling system fill with dex-cool..Best mod for your motor.
Upgraded headlights are an absolute must if you’re going to drive a C5 at night. My latest upgrade was a Pioneer AVH3500NEX head unit to replace the Eclipse unit that came with my 04Z when I bought it and a backup camera. My car has many more mods most of which were installed by the previous owner to the tune of $28K and that’s what I paid for the car in 2011 with 28K miles on it.
got my C5 a march 5 2020 for 9K after tax's it was 11,900$ now from what iv seen good luck finding even bad conditioned one that cheap and my buddy gave 18K for his Z06. the prices going up kinda suck was actually looking to get a 2nd one so when ones down the other is running or that was the plan anyway
I really wish I could afford mods for my 03. I'm too busy fixing sh*t from the previous owner. Oh, with your radio. I used the pac adapter to keep it. Went with a Kenwood DMX4707S. Hows the sound on yours? A friend of mine claims mine sounds like crap.
What? That's an amazing price. I'm looking at headers alone for 2,300 (American Racing) mufflers for 1200 (Borla cat backs). A&A supercharger kit for 6,000, Coil overs for 600 (Amazon specials) , Holly CAI for 400. A CAM will come later.
Fun fact: A lot of young C5 buyers break the harmonic balancers. I did, you did, and my friend did as well. I think apart from the oem design flaw, the previous owners probably didn't drive them as hard and then they give out when you start thrashing it.

my 01 had the clear glass i loved it but sadly looks like one of the previous owners had broken it back in 2011 (found tap inside with 2011 on it) and one night coming home from work the clear glass par separated from the frame that holds it onto the car. just something to consider when looking for C5's or if youre thinking about trying to find a clear top
What are they not doing? There is a common problem with the one of the conectors near the rear axle that corrodes, that causes brake lights and turn signals not to work.
@@formula112967 The reverse lights don't work at all. I changed most of my bulbs including the reverse bulbs to led. While all of the lights with the exception of the reverse lights work fine. When I installed them they lit up for minute. One went out and the other followed shortly the fuses seem ok. Puzzler for sure! I know Drive Hub seem to have an issue with his a while back, and was wondering how he made out and what the cause was? Thanks, Jim
@@JimmyH1020 sounds like a corroded wire or a bad connection at one of the wire connectors. There is a wire connector at the back of the car tucked up into the body on the passenger side. It is where all the wires come together. Check that connection, because I think the reverse light wires run through that connection. I bought a c5 zo6 off a fella that owns a speed shop, mine has a vortec n meth injection, n has other stuff done as well 665 RWHP, 10.01 -140mph et. I've owned the car for the last 5 yrs n just love the old girl, she's a BLAST TO DRIVE!😎✌
I would have skipped that Bose Adapter and just bought 4 new speakers for like 150 bucks and sold the Bose stuff. Most anything modern would be better than those Bose speakers.
$4272.... LMFAO. You've just got the cheap stuff out of the way!! Wait until you dive into longtubes, x-pipe, cam package, head work, intake. BTW, one of the absolute best mods for the dollar I could ever recommend is an MGW shifter... Even if someone wanted to leave their ride bone-stock, I would still recommend it.

It's pretty crazy how much difference the price is between C5 and C6 parts. Headlights are significantly more for example.
Cheap and adds so much get the black letter inserts for the rear (they come with front letters also) but yes a must

That's not too bad....i almost fainted when I added mine up (just got it tis past spring....though you did a LOT of stuff cosmetically.

Nope. Better to do a muffler bypass. Cost me 100.00 4 years ago. Sounds great

Don't use stock one they can fail early.
I would recomend a Vortech supercharger......my C5 now makes 470 bwhp to the wheels.
