  • Polio Vaccinations 💉 There’s been a temporary pause in the fighting between Hamas and Israel in Gaza so that 640,000 children can be immunised against Polio after the disease was found there for the first time in 25 years. SES Rescues 🦺 Last week thousands of people around Australia were affected by some serious storms, which brought down trees and powerlines, caused floods and resulted in many calls for help to the SES. Reef Report 🐠 Recently the government released a big, 5-yearly report on the health of the Great Barrier Reef, and it had some good news along with a lot of more bad news. Eiffel Tower 🇫🇷 Attaching the Olympic rings permanently to the Eiffel Tower is a controversial idea but the tallest structure in Paris has been causing controversy since it was first built. Emily Beef Farming 🐮 We meet another winner of the ABC’s Heywire competition, which asks young people living in regional areas to tell their stories. Emily tells us about her passion for beef farming.
