Wonderful video! I like the way you broke down the different categories of artists and then 3 price points in each category. This must have taken a long time to produce. You’ve given me some great ideas for the artist in my life: Me! Thank you!

Have you tried the artisto colored pencils? Nice creamy budget set, you should try them. Some of them are on par with prisms color. Other ones are slightly firmer. Very nice all around.

I've seen them but I haven't tried them yet! Thanks for the idea I'm definitely interested!

Great ideas n choices of gifts.
Please let me know what brand and where you got the white palette you put your Kuratake Art Nouveau set of 24. I love that set and would like a more substantial container to take on the go. Thank you Sharon

As a "professional" color pencil artist, I would say you nailed it. I would be tickled pink or whatever color I got 😂 on your color pencil list, and that TGaal sharpener is on my wishlist. Well done friend.

Great gift guide, I am super tempted to buy the Kuretaki palette. Also, can you provide a link for the pen case you have your fountain pens in ?

I won't advise sketching with water soluble graphite under watercolour. They can mud the colours, especially the light and bright ones. I use a hard pencil very lightly, it is hardly visible in the end (if at all) even without erasing. Watercolour pencils will taint the colours as well, coloured pencils can form a resist, so if that's not the desired effect, stay away from them as sketching tools too.

Love all your suggestions with the exception of one. The etchr sketchbook. I think it's in the wrong class. No professional I've ever known would be caught dead with an etchr sketchbook. They aren't for professionals. They are for newbies. Real artists buy full sheets. From which we cut to size for finished works. We do NOT use sketchbooks for finished peices. RUclipsrs do that. Not professional artists. We use sketchbooks for value studies, color studies, life sketches, designing composition, rough lay outs of ideas. Therefore any notebook, sketchbook, etc would do just fine. I think the stillman & burn beta should be flipped with the etchr. Because no professional artist would blow their money on etchr.
Edit: and the handmade paints. I Wouldn't dare recommend a small business handmade paint to anyone. Not even a hobbyist or a beginner. For many reasons. They're over priced for one thing. They are always out of stock. They are not consistent.

Hi Phillip! I definitely get where you are coming from - commissionable work should be made using commission worthy supplies! I do think that's how an artist would purchase for themselves - the gift guide is more a chance for someone to get a gift for someone they care about. I think artists would enjoy any of these items, and while the Etchr sketchbook is pricey for the needs of an artist, it would still make a nice gift if someone had the budget. I do think the Stillman and Bern Betas are amazing too - and those are definitely interchangeable. Thanks for your insights as always!!
