I'm trying to respool a closed type reel. Button type closed reel. I kept turning and turning, no line was really coming on the reel, then I noticed all these twist in the line. I tried for a long time!! I think I've got the spool of line and reel direction same, maybe. I turned the dial on drag etc. And still problems.
It's really hard to say what you might be doing wrong. I suggest you take all the line off and make sure you tie the line tight around the spool. I have another video that also show you how to respool a spin cast reel. Check those out too.
I try and start with a good tug from the reel when I first start fishing. Then I just guess and check. It can vary so much when you have a fish on and you are bending your pole or pointing your pole straight out.
To reiterate, people need to learn to pump and reel. That is how you get enough power or leverage to bring in a fish that is too large for your tackle....not even that, even with fish well within the range of what your tackle is able to bring in. It's just good form.
Matthew Zebco should sponsor you.
Maybe someday they will notice.
@@OutFishing13Matthew yes and they could send you reels to service on you channel so people will buy Zebco equipment.
Could you do a video on anti-reverse on a reel? Why and when to use it. I seldom, if ever, disengage mine.
Sure.
I use it all the time I think it's great
Awesome. It is there for a reason. Too many fish have been lost when the drag is used wrong.
man that classic 33 is gorgous
@@Boswd thanks

I always set it after I have a fish on the line
good habit!
Hello Matthew,
Your looking good, guy doesn't have much to say just want you to know that I'm still with you have a great day.
Thanks, you too! Thanks for watching, Ed!
I always check my drag from the tip of the rod !!! Not right out of the reel..
Great tip. Thanks for commenting.
How do you measure your pound per pull when setting the drag.

Thank u so much u definitely help me gonna have to subscribe!🎣
You're welcome! and thanks!
So for respooling, do you want the line loose or tighter? The drag.
You want the drag tight and the line tight. Maybe your drag is too loose?
Do you know of a source where I can find a manual on a Zebco One? I enjoy your zebco vids!!!!!!!!
I don't know about a manual, but try the Zebco Collectors Facebook group.
Blessed ✨🔥
thanks!
Diawa makes a dang good spincaster as well. And yeah, Japanese drags setup is backwards...good for us lefties though.
They are well built for sure. Those were my first spincast reels. Over 20 years old and still work great. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very good advice. You would think that people could figure that out but then you would be wrong most of the time.
I was taught by my dad and figured it out after a lot of frustration. If you can learn from others, why not. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great vv😊
