Wow I have been perusing the internet trying to find one soul of intelligent to understand what the princess bride is really about So I realize something I’m not completely utterly alone with these truths I’ve looked at honest trailers no hint that they know what this story is. And now I’m at a ch that reviews classic literature and has a deep appreciation for this story but has no idea what it is. You have to first ask yourself why is it called the princess bride. These are two titles of great status that are not really earned. I’m just going to give the truth and you know it’s true bc it’s been staring you in the face since you first saw the princess bride. This story is a medieval Disney like retelling of the great gasby which are not names but the titles the protagonist earned. The great Wesley would have been on the nose and people would might still be confused that the great gasby is about love when it’s completely not!!!! I’m pretty sure you will find the parallels. Like the noble girls are both named flowers like daisy and buttercup And the poor boy has to change his story to fit in her life. Farm boy only says three words as to make himself to exactly what she desires and needs and I don’t remember gasby original name but it’s not gasby he also changes his story to fit into daisy live. They have a short lived romance only the newness and great expectation of love without either Wesley or gasby truly sharing who they are. Both get their way their lies work the flowers fall in ice and make promises that they will wait as both men need to go make themselves worthy of these noble woman. Both can come back after the war or after the dread pirate Roberts becomes friends- both stay away to amass wealth. Do I have to keep going or remind that the Dream that scares buttercup isn’t about missing Wesley. It’s about people booing her and her status being threatened. How can the people cherish a queen that abandons true love. If she was in love she would have probably not Wanted the marriage to begin w and be dreaming of Wesley. She is never dreaming of Wesley . Now putting a oil boy getting memorized and brainwashed like Disney does to little girls by glorifying true love despite being a titled princess and maybe a bride and a queen. B I’ve given you enough that an idiot can understand this. It must have been as disappointing for the writer of the great gasby for people to think it about true love and not about the allure of wealth and status. And that in the end daisy or buttercup are rich spoiled girls who earn nothing and learn nothing. As gasby shows his worth and do does Wesley-
wait u think the shining movie is better than the book? I mean it's one of my favorite movies ever but just as a standalone thing, it's such a bad adaptation of the book. the book was, in my opinion, so much better still.
Cassie Hall a thousand times better than the book. King made a “faithful” miniseries adaptation and it was trash. Kubrick’s film is my favorite movie of all time.
