This is easily one of my favorite golf channels on RUclips. Shot tracers. Picture-in-picture for each hole. No B.S. running of the mouth. Usually an entire round in under 15 minutes. Keep up the excellent work!!!
Love Royal Hawaiian! Definitely have to keep the ball in play and the angles of the holes make it hard to know. It seems like course knowledge is big on this course. First time I played, I also lost a bunch. The mud is also this clay color. Check out Ko Olina next time you're in Oahu.
I was immediately humbled off the first tee haha. Definitely need to play other courses in Oahu next time I am there! This was just a quick trip in and out so only had time for one round.
I tend to play this course 2-3 times a year. Its a lot of fun when it is dry, but when it is wet and windy its hell on earth. great video. Hope you got to try some other course on vacation, there are a lot of fun course on the island.
@@GolfParfection That's what I keep hearing. lol Really looking forward to it. I've lived on Oahu for a year now and have always wanted to play this course. We've played Klipper, Royal Kunia, and Coral Creek (and a couple par 3 courses).
Legend has it that, all my golf balls are still there in the bushes, living the best life in the jungle. This course and Ko'olau is a no go for me now lol.
I’m off to Hawaii in a few weeks. I’ve got a free day on Sunday and I’m trying to decide which course to play. Royal Hawaiian was on my list…not anymore. Where would you recommend? I’m thinking Kapolei?
Glad the video helped! I actually haven't played any other courses on Oahu so can't give a solid recommendation. My friend who lives there says you cant go wrong with Kapolei, Ko Olina, or Turtle Bay! Have fun out there 😎
i live here and avoid royal hawaiian like the plague, its so unforgiving. you gotta be able to keep the ball in the shortest grass the whole time if you wanna find it. too much money spent on balls here lol.
I definitely went to Costco before hand and bought a lot of golf balls in anticipation. My friend and I did not leave with many of those after the round ended 😂
Those greens have to be stimping under 5! Seriously, I'd have probably resorted to chipping--even on the green--if I was outside 20'! If the super complained, I'd tell him to mow and roll his greens once in a while.
They were brutal and had I not know the greens were this slow prior to my round I would have been upset haha. But yeah I went into it fully knowing what the course had to offer so no surprises here! Long putts were a total crap shoot.
How long does it take to play this course say from Parking lot to Parking lot with out stopping at the 19th hole bar ;)? Wondering if i can get this in on our kids school trip in 2 weeks....Genuine time line if you are able! :) My wife and I are hackers by the way! lol
I got a super early tee time so no one really in front of us. Took us about 4.5 hours with 3 of us but I can't speak for groups that are later in the day. Also it took us 30 minutes to drive to and from the course so not bad.
@@GolfParfection I think some of it was difficulty and some of it was the course not getting the maintenance it needs. Everybody working there was really nice, the starter talked a LOT, apparently COVID killed most of their business and they have 6 grounds keepers doing the work that used to be done by 16. If they got the rough and greens figured out it would be one of the best courses in Hawaii.

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PPL IN THE BACK! 😂 Thanks for the kind words 🤙

Agreed. Royal Hawaiian is an experience we still talk about. KoOlina was excellent. Beautiful holes too. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful views. Seeing those greens be extra slow is crazy. Looks like you had fun regardless. Great video as always. Look forward to the next one.
Appreciate you G! 💪
Thanks for sharing this really great content. Love the tracers, Arccos and Google map tracer flyovers.
🙏
My buddies and I are playing this course tomorrow. Thank you for this video so I can see how difficult it is, but it looks amazing.
Have fun! It was wild to golf in the jungle. Bring a lot of balls 😂

I love this course. It's a must play if you're on Oahu (but just once! lol)
Had a fun time playing this course. Definitely worth playing.
Such a difficult course, but the views are amazing.
wow thats jungle golf for real for real. wipey fades are my speciality as well, no matter the club, shaft or flex hahaha.
Wipey fade gang rise up!
"and just like the course designers knew, there's a drop zone" - Pete dye is the designer and this course is a gem
Yeah, my son and I lost almost all the balls in our bags. Front 9 greens were bad, back 9 were ok. Scenery fantastic.
Scenery is definitely awesome. I think it's a place once and enjoy it but don't have to frequent it haha.
Man is trying to Jedi mind trick us that he played 14 well 😂 I’m convinced.
Erase those miss hits from your memory ::waves hand:: 🤣

I did my duty and let the golf balls I took their live free amongst their kind in the wild 🤣

Great course.
Greens being slow is an understatement.. putting on Velcro would be faster
Disappointed you didn’t put the lost golf cart in the edit 😂
Missed opportunity lol

It helps hit more fairways! 🤙🏾😆

I can’t believe how hard you had to hit some of those putts. 😂
Not gonna lie I have putted off fairways that were cut shorter than some of those greens 😂
come play Mauna Kea on the Big Island you'll soon change your mind ,,
How much were the rentals?
did you ever play koolau? it's just as tight but longer. lol
Someone mentioned it to me before and when I heard them describe it in my mind I was like "that's a no from me dog" 🤣

I played there a few months ago and the slow greens and overgrown rough was ridiculous. 5’ off the green and your ball is gone
There were some shots where I barely missed the fairway and the ball was just straight up unfindable. Didn't even try to look.

Wow super slow greens!
Molasses for sure!
Hole 3 tee shot looked so narrow
Lost so many balls between me and TJ we were just praying to hit fairway and to be able to find our golf balls haha.
Your here bro?
This was in the middle of April. Was an in and out trip for a friend's wedding.
@@GolfParfection I see, I was gonna say let’s colab I’ll bring film crew! 🤙🏾😎
Next time! Ill be there next year for another wedding haha.
@@GolfParfection 🤙🏾
Live on the island, played it many times, not worth it.
Playing it once was enough for me haha
@@GolfParfection Ko’olau was a much better layout when it was maintained.
