But my mind could do a full 180 as some drake projects i wasn't quite feeling grew on me I'll come edit this after my full listen Edit: I enjoyed it alot. The production is top tier some of the best drake's ever done. Content wise I'm not impressed he did what he does. It's high quality, I enjoy it, I'll play it, some song are great but overall I expected more. It does give me the feeling of take care or nwts which I suppose it shouldn't
Music stamps a moment in time. If you don’t associate music with a fun activity or a up/down moment in your life then it won’t make an impact on your opinion
You only like 8 outta 21 songs but you still say it’s “decent”? Dawg that’s not even close to half the album… I’m convinced people are afraid to call music by prominent artists like Drake what it is…trash. This album is trash.
I like the album don't get me wrong, but I need to see more growth from Drake. More evolution. This just sounds like More Drake. Not nothing special. The beats are nice, and of course the lyrics are great but if this album came 3 albums ago, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Just my opinion.
Okay and what would you have him do then to make himself “grow” or be “special”? They’re plenty of artist that do and rap the same shit but when Drake gives y’all multiple different sounds and flows everything sounds the same smfh
@@neneeK well if you listen to his content and not just his lyrics, you can see that content wise, it seems like for the past 3-4 albums, he's just saying or talking about the same things. He's been rapping for like 10-15 years now, I'm sure he's evolved since then. To me it sounds like he only raps about how everyone is still against him, when that clearly is not true. How do you have so much success if that's so. He raps about girls, either relationship wise or how he feels he's been mistreated. Or he raps about how much he's better than everyone else in the rap game. Now I'm not hating on the man because it obviously works. What I'm saying is all of the Goats of rap , you can clearly see a natural evolution. Like Nas, Jay Z, Biggie and Tupac, even tho their lives were cut short, Andre 3000, even J Cole. From the first album on you see a transition from the hungry, not a lot of money tryna get on, to finally having a little bit of money, to eventually trying to teach us how to get some money. Drake is a phenomenal artist. It's just his evolution and his content for me. If hi next album isn't one where he shows more growth, be will quickly fall out of the grace of the people. Meek Mill has the same problem. It's like, they just display their smile lyrically on new dope beats , but remain safe and just continue to give us the same content. We love their music, but there has to be a growth process. Sorry it's so long, but I just wanted to be clear.
@@khlasickBeats you say that like Drake sounds anything like his younger self. He’s evolved multiple times with going into his different genres and his singing and flows. And he’s talking about the rap game and how L listeners call him corny or barless which is facts and what people do rn. Like with the Kanye and pushes T beef, drake has even more famous people he mentions hate on or don’t like him and there’s probably more than we know. This is something he always struggles with each album as people come at him with smoke. And he raps about getting bitches something everyone does but he actually shares his emotions which is why some people are drawn to artist like him and juice wrld. So of course he’s going to do that every album. Kendrick comes back after years as he always does and angrily tells us everyone is trash and that he’s the goat and back now. And we all still love that. Some niggas don’t gotta “evolve” cause they’re already enough rn
I hear what you're saying but evolution is all about taking chances. Musically, he stays in his same lane. The man went from nothing to soon to be a billionaire, and all you have to sing/ rap about is girls, money, hate, and his homies? Come on now. The man is clearly talented and I enjoy his music, but when was the last time Drake said anything, tryna empower his fans and listeners? Or taken chances musically. His beats sound like new versions of old beats. Same drum patterns, hi hat and snare rolls. Everything. If it weren't for his main engineer 40, he probably wouldn't be this successful. 40 make his music sound incredible. We all have our opinions in life and we're entitled to have them, but you will remember our conversation in the future if he doesn't start changing his content. I mean , truthfully this album was a 9/10 to me. But I've only listened to is once, and not because it wasn't good. But because it just sounds like More Drake and not an evolution of Drake, the man himself.
@@khlasickBeats I would still disagree on the evolution part. Because there are tons of artists that take musical chances and it’s not good. Lil Uzi made a country song earlier this year which is taking a risk and he didn’t evolve from it so taking risk doesn’t automatically mean something’s good. And as far as what you said about The beats I completely disagree. There are many different sounding beats on here you can’t sit her and say it sounded like one beat the whole album when he has different genres on it and different paced song throughout the album. He literally has multiple beat switches where half the songs sounds nothing like the other half. I relistened to album multiple times and none of the beats sound similar to eachother. And about the “empowering fans” drake has never really intentionally done that. Drake relates to his fans via emotions and feelings through his stories and experiences that we can relate to which is mostly why he grew. Drake takes musical chances all the time. Drake didn’t start off singing and rapping like he does now, or doing dance hall, trap, Rnb, Latin, or any of the other sounds he has. He takes chances but we’re all just so used to that being a thing he does we don’t acknowledge it. If anything drake takes way more risk than many artist
idk this Zoomer generation fucks with Drake more than Kanye, admit it this shit was overhyped, how many more times we gotta hear drake cry that hes different and got no friends?

Stop overhyping this album, it was such a disappointment, you just don't return after three years with a dovy lovy album especially when you claim war against Kanye fucking west who happens to release a historic project. Drake flopped this one
kanye failed with his “historic project” it’s already dying down💀 it wasn’t that great either. it was mostly just his features on the album barely heard him
Honestly confused at the first day hate that Drakes been getting. Like there were definitely like 5-6 songs (in my opinion) that I found boring but overall I loved the album. I'm not sure but it seems like there is like a Drake hater cult that always gets in early to hate before the rest of the world starts listening and in 2 weeks he's got 4 of the top 5 spots on the billboard 100.
Numbers do not equate to anything. Mainstream popularity does not mean quality. Theres a bunch of music that tops the charts that is downright awful. Drakes will be #1 because people like him, hes popular and drops instagram quote bars, but as a fan, me and most fans just dont like this fcking album and theres nothing wrong with that. Theres no "hate cult", people were really looking forward to this album, but if you go look up CLB on twitter youll see just a bunch of ppl typing how underwhelming it was. 5/21 songs for me. Thats a whole hour for only 15 minutes to matter. And thats the ratio for most people honedtly, not hard to accept that
I'll never understand why CERTAIN fans of kanye have drake rent free in they head. mfs click on a drake album review to comment its ass and bring up donda. You can like both artists... both projects were solid IMO but I see more people not even giving CLB a chance.
Personally it could be his worst album. Nothing unique, just mainstream garbage. The features can’t save him either. Champagne poetry and race my mind are okay.

I haven't listened to it with headphones yet to get the full experience. But off the first listen it's the standard drake album. Nothing new or groundbreaking it's just hes been giving us and it works I guess. It's not bad it just is. But my mind could do a full 180 as some drake projects i wasn't quite feeling grew on me
I'll come edit this after my full listen
Edit: I enjoyed it alot. The production is top tier some of the best drake's ever done. Content wise I'm not impressed he did what he does. It's high quality, I enjoy it, I'll play it, some song are great but overall I expected more. It does give me the feeling of take care or nwts which I suppose it shouldn't

2nd half stronger than the 1st half. I like a cool 8 tracks on this album, nothing more.. definitely not Drake's best but decent project
You only like 8 outta 21 songs but you still say it’s “decent”? Dawg that’s not even close to half the album… I’m convinced people are afraid to call music by prominent artists like Drake what it is…trash. This album is trash.
@@kendrickjenkins96 this album isn’t trash bozo also take this ratio
@@marcuscrooze2716 How someone like less than half an album and say it’s still “decent”?? Swear y’all forcing yourself to like this shit
@@marcuscrooze2716 And yes it is trash lol. It’s boring, repetitive, uninspired, mid-to-trash production, and the corniest lyrics of Drake’s career.
The album is not trash it’s just not his best work I think drake has reached his peak though . nwts hotter then this album
If Donda didn’t come out on the same week everyone would be all over this album.
CLB > Donda

idk this Zoomer generation fucks with Drake more than Kanye, admit it this shit was overhyped, how many more times we gotta hear drake cry that hes different and got no friends?

Honestly confused at the first day hate that Drakes been getting. Like there were definitely like 5-6 songs (in my opinion) that I found boring but overall I loved the album.
I'm not sure but it seems like there is like a Drake hater cult that always gets in early to hate before the rest of the world starts listening and in 2 weeks he's got 4 of the top 5 spots on the billboard 100.
Numbers ≠ good and the album jus wasn’t good lmao
Numbers do not equate to anything. Mainstream popularity does not mean quality. Theres a bunch of music that tops the charts that is downright awful. Drakes will be #1 because people like him, hes popular and drops instagram quote bars, but as a fan, me and most fans just dont like this fcking album and theres nothing wrong with that. Theres no "hate cult", people were really looking forward to this album, but if you go look up CLB on twitter youll see just a bunch of ppl typing how underwhelming it was. 5/21 songs for me. Thats a whole hour for only 15 minutes to matter. And thats the ratio for most people honedtly, not hard to accept that
@Cristian Rodas lol it’s really not good
Lol it’s just garbage bro
Bro this shit was dog doo. And besides, doesn’t mean it’s popular as hell, doesn’t mean it’s great as hell. Popularity isn’t the same as musicality.
