I'd guess it does an emergency stop if it loses the wire signal completely.

      That would be correct.

I used to drive a simalar BT Rollatruck version of those wire guided trucks before I got into the IT business. There were two types, a solid body "order picker" and the larger one I mostly drove which they called a narrow isle reach truck which had a massive battery in the back which was articulated to the front half with hydraulic pistons hinging the whole setup for steering. The whole cab and forks went up and down about 8/9 pallet locations and twice I got stuck right up in the top when it broke down and I had to wait until someone noticed to be rescued. We had a rope and abseil kit attached to the cab incase there was a fire. I think the worst predicament I ever found myself in was inserting a pallet on the next to top shelf of racking and a cardborad flap went up inside the channel of the top rack bar and got the pallet stuck half way so I couldn't get either in or out without the pallet collapsing. I waited for hours but no one came so in the end I ended up climbing onto the roof of the cab some how to cut it free. Good to see that you guys have radios because that's what they really needed because there was no way to call for help unless someone happened to be in ear shot.

I've witnessed some pretty bad hang ups over the years. Yours sounds pretty rough. Radios are a must nowadays. Business class radios are expensive in price, but priceless in value. Save a ton of time.

I'd be interested in seeing some troubleshooting! I'm at another Amazon facility and I have 3 OP's that drive crooked on Wire Guide. CM hasn't been much help. Also looks like you're using an older telemetry system.

At this location we have the older FM1 modules with 5 Ghz wifi. We've had some that didnt like the wire. Sometimes we could get it out by adjusting the steer handle slightly off. Sometimes we would actual twist the front and rear sensors to a side, so they weren't facing square forward to back like they should. One time I ground down the steer centering plate mounted to the MDU to change the center it was so bad. You dealing with these dumb ass hydrogen cells too?

I'm confused Mr Scrufdog, I thought you said previously that only the order pickers used the wire guidance system. Or is this not a reach truck? Great video! Cheers! EDIT:- I see this is a Hyster, but not a reach truck. Not confused anymore!

This is an order picker. I also just released a Reach Truck video to the public. Lots of forklift stuff today, lol.

@@Scrufdog Thanks mate! Yeah, I edited my post after realising my mistake, it IS an order picker! Similar control displays. LOL!

They are both part of the 'Common Control System' line of trucks that was supposed to be the ultimate solution of cross compatibility between different models of forklift. It kinda works that way... they are trying... anyway... Yes, the dash and various controls are very similiar, the only real difference is the physical shape, but the guts inside are the same.

Does the truck steer in the same way as a car or like some of our smaller forklifts that had the wheel under the seat and you turned the steering wheel left if you wanted to go right?
    Just curious to know.

Since it's drive by wire, you can select Automotive or Reverse steering. Usually depends on what the customer considers 'driving forward'. If you have the option, you can also change the effort to steer. They have ferro fluid inside the steer handle, so you can increase it's 'thickness'. Good question.

ah crap, I've got Reach Truck on the brain. Reach trucks have selective steering. The Order Pickers however, are either 'Return to Center', like these are, when they have Wire Guidance. If you dont have wire guidance, you can get a manual steer handle, the stays turned when you let go. Either way, no, you cant change much on order picker steering.
