Beautiful area. Those houses built right on the water definitely have a couple of advantages. No grass to mow and you can fish for dinner from the back deck. Of course they surely cost more than I'd make in 50 years.
Looks like a nice trip :) I grew up in Half Moon Bay, CA back when it was a small town that nobody knew it was there hardly. Even now 50 yrs later I Never get tired of Hwy 1 , or driving through the Redwoods from the bay area over to the coast through the Santa Cruz Mountains ( Hwy 9, Hwy 35 and various other small one lane roads) over to Pescadero, CA and the Pigeon Pt Light House. A great escape from TOO MANY PEOPLE in the bay area :)
Highway one to Vandenburg takes you to Jalama Beach! The estuary this time of year is filled with birds! Crane, geese, Blue heron, great white egret, ducks and 60 other species of birds!!! You would also be able to observe the migrating whales along with dolphins and different type of seals.
What a beautiful coastline with the seals and the great RV park (on the hill) and the gorgeous flowers. Looking forward to the next video, safe travels.
Very important to know Rincon and all the Ventura campsites require reservations now. 90 days ahead is all know if you show up in the winter months and the campsite you select has not been booked and you can book it online of course. During the best months you’ve got to get on that computer right away 90 days out, or you won’t be going I could stay here for many days we use a bring a car and drive up to the Santa Barbara pier for lunch or up to the Coldspring tavern on the top of the mountain above Santa Barbara at original stage. Coach stop with the original buildings. Lots of fun and good food. Have fun.
Ventura Highway 101, my old stomping grounds for over 40 years! I lived in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Oxnard. I wished you also could have seen the San Marcos Pass 154 drive...what a drive! Take the Solvang exit next time and then exit in Santa Barbara to get back to the 101. Montecito, The Rincon, Mussel Shoals...paradise! And the next exit you must head to Ojai. Blue skys turn to Coastal Eddys and burn off after 12:00. After doing an all nighter at the Chumash Casino I'd pull off to snooze for a few zzz's near the Rincon...I lived in Port Hueneme the last 10 years of 40+. Yes I miss the area.... but I could no longer afford living in this area of So Cal after my husband passed. 💕
I'm from Ventura area, its called the RIN CON not Ricon. There are better beach campgrounds on the beach just south of Pt Mugu rock hwy 1 on your way south to Malibu. You get your own sandy beach, firepit, and a table!
🙋♀Hello Russ! I really loved seeing the ocean & hearing how loud it sounds as it slaps the coast. Beautiful even on a cloudy day. Looks inviting to camp alongside of the road to enjoy the ocean. Loved your video! In hopes you enjoy the rest of your day & have a safe trip back to Arizona! 👍
God Bless , United States America , Russ , RVerTV Fans. Happy Trails - U.S.A. - Russ , RVerTV Fans. We Love - RVerTV - BEST TV ON RUclips. Thank you Russ.🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
You ought to take a trip to Solvang! It’s a Dutch community! Cool place! Rv park in Buelton! We’ve stayed a week there, close to Pea Soup Anderson’s! However it’s been awhile since we’ve been down south! Have great memories!
Solvang is lovely still. Settled by Danish immigrants, who found the area to resemble parts of rural Denmark. Older still, Spanish footprints with Mission Santa Inez, and of course Chumash, who have been in that part of California long before Europeans. Try your luck at the Casino just outside of town. :)
Arizona sure is "PRETTY" but California is "MAGNIFICENT". I visited California 15 times over the years and spent the equivalent of a full year there. The State has everything : Mountains, Deserts and the Ocean. People there live in a paradise but they don't seem to know it, mainly because living has become so expensive. In Santa Monica, there may be over 1 million people on the shore of the Pacific on weekends and there's no fun going there. State Park campgrounds near the Ocean are always full and you have to reserve on-line one year in advance, a thing I cannot do. Well, as usual, a very nice video, Russ !! RICHARD
Plenty of local hidden gems north of Santa Monica and in Ventura County. Miles of uncrowded and rustic beaches that visitors rarely seem to find unless they venture deeper and take a little time. :)
Hi Russ ! This was a real treat ! The Rincon PKWY was my weekend get away for 2 dacades... It used to be Free to camp there !!!! Then went to 8 bucks a night... Emma Woods too ! We only lived 30 miles from Rincon ! We lived in Thousand Oaks for Decades ! It was such a thrill to see your video... Safe Travels ! Stay Happy and, Well !!!
Russ, don’t give away the secret! I camp at Faria each year in my SUV right on the beach! If I’m lucky, the king tides splash over the rocks and get my campsite. ❤️
beach parking prices are rediculous!! These parking spaces were paid by tax payers and should be free! Shame on the govt and their massive corruption, over spending and over taxing citizens.
Rin' Con is one of my all time favorite surf breaks....! Awsome to see you at the coast finally' great times at some of those spots back in the 70's & 80's ...." Keep on Truckin "
My moms side of the family has been in Ventura county since the 1940's. grew up on these beaches but I've live in central Vally most my life but always love taking the 4 hour drive to visit. We were just down there a couple weeks ago and stayed at Emma Wood. Theres a very nice older gentleman that works there who helped me out with opening a spot that was closed because of the storms over the winter. I'm a spur of the moment type so it's hard to find places that acomadate the old way of doing things. It's $40 a night be lulled to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. Because of being down the hill from the 101 you really can't hear traffic over the ocean but the occasionall train ca definitely be heard. When I was a child my grandpa used to rent out one of the houses there in that group where you saw the stairs leading down to the water. What a great time we had there every year! Thank you for sharing this place! Hopefully your viewers will get down there to enjoy it's splendor! You have to go check out the Ventura Harbor and stop by Andrias for some fish and chips!
Great video Russ! If you take that Highway 1 turnoff toward Lompoc a couple of miles there is road you can take that brings you to Jalama Beach. A real cool out of the way place. The have a restaurant there that makes some great burgers.
Hi Russ. I paused the video, in the beginning, since you said that you were driving on Highway 101, and that reminded me of the ( Country group) that was named Highway 101, probably taking their name, from that Highway. I will return to the video, and continue this virtual trip, with you. Thank you again.
Thanks Russ, I lived in Ventura way back when and used to watch the surfers at Rincon. I wish I could afford to live there now that I'm retired. Enjoy your channel, safe journey.
Just a bit up the coast is Jalama Beach. It is actually much nicer because there is no high speed car/truck traffic anywhere near you. There is a train track, but it has very little traffic. And dogs are welcome.
126 is a cool drive. There are campgrounds around Point Mugu south, i was hoping you were going to visit there. I haven't been that way for years. Thanks for the trip. Safe Travels.
Great production, Russ! I plan on visiting my brother in Sacramento next year and this video has been very helpful in planning my route. I'm in SC. Thanks for all you do! 👌
I visited Santa Barbara when I worked in Barstow Radio, told my friend their if there ever was an opening let me know. He did and I went to work for KTMS , and sometime later KDB ..too expensive a city to live in though , very nice video
Ventura! my home town! miss it very much. too bad you didnt stop and check out the botanical gardens up near grant park in Ventura, you would have enjoyed that. maybe next year.
Cool to see you in my area, Santa Barbara/Ventura counties. The Rincon is my spot to just go and chill, read a book, take a nap, work via remote on my laptop, whatever. You basically stood in my footsteps at the last stop overlooking Emma Wood, where I like to cross the RR tracks and walk along the old highway (now part of the State Beach.) Been going to that spot and all along there for solace since the 80s, even before moving to the area from Los Angeles. :) Safe travels to you.
Yeah Buddy ! This was my weekend hang out area for 2 decades.. Rincon PKWY camping used to be free !!!!! Then went to around 8 bucks per night.. We camped at Emma Woods too... We lived in Thousand oaks, CA
What a great road trip Russ! Thank you for showing the flowers, different type of plants. Waiting for a whale jumping up and catching the bird. Looking forward to your future travel plans.
Thanks for the video. After living on Santa Barbara until I was 24 years old, this video is killing me! I love the Ocean along that area of the coast especially....👍👍
Rincon Parkway is one of my favorite camping spots. You missed Hobson beach camping on the north end, similar to Faria on the south. Have a great time!
Hey Russ, long time fan, I like how you head north when it gets warm, and you stick to small towns! Just like me! haha ok stay safe and keep up those videos!
Still unable to travel yet been over two years. But takes for letting us tag along with you. Hope in three months hope to be able to go. Keep up the great work. Tks again
A lot of that yellow is mustard weed. It is blooming and going to seed with a vengeance right now! In fact it's probably even more spectacular now since it's been 4 weeks or so since you were here. Ask me how I know (I'm northern San Diego County). There's a nice little surfing spot in that area called Mondo's. Haven't been back there since I moved south. I used to make the drive to Rincon along the 126 from Palmdale once a week to surf. Great memories.
I would nickname that RV parkway as Sardine Bay RV strip. Way too many people packed in with all their “stuff”. Loud generators all night would drown out the sound of the waves. All this and smelly portapottys could be yours for just $45 per night. I think I’ll move on up the road.
Just discovered ur channel a few weeks ago. First video I saw was when you were traveling through West Virginia. I lived there for 3 years about 15 years ago and it was awsome seeing W.V again through ur video. I enjoy seeing the country through ur videos. Keep up the great content.
Was working in Santa Barbara last spring. My sister lives north of Morrow bay in Cayoucus. Miss it. Working in Park city Utah for the summer. It does not suck.
Hello again Russ. I thought before starting to follow your channel that I would never ever get to see so my of the West coast but her I am and enjoying every minute of it . Thanks again for another cool video. Happy travels stay well.
What I don’t like is the dirty sand at the beach! Guess I’m spoiled because I was raised in Hawaii, where the sand is white as sugar and very fine! Still love visiting the beach! Thanks for sharing!
Should tell people you need reservations now for the last few years. Use to go there all the time. If you have a large rig it is hard to get parked. Ranger will give you a ticket if over any of the lines and watch for theft at night, a few people I know had generators stole.
I watched this video because the thumbnail said "Oceanfront Boondocking" however there was no FREE "boondocking" spots, only the PAY county and state campsites.
Another great Russ video. Roughly 25 years ago I was in San Fran(before it became so deadly) and drove down to Monterey Bay. Beautiful drive and they had some spots to pull over. I couldn't believe all the 60's VW buses with flowers painted on the side of them. What I wanted to know is if they had been there since the sixties or are these new people LOL?
Great video! So happy to see the parking opportunities along the southern coast. I'm planning to move to Nevada later this year, but will definitely be escaping back to the coast during the hot summer months! 😅
It’s SPRING !! Yaaa ! Blossoms and renewal, what a winter it was.
Beautiful area. Those houses built right on the water definitely have a couple of advantages. No grass to mow and you can fish for dinner from the back deck. Of course they surely cost more than I'd make in 50 years.
My family and I love camping at Faria Beach campground right next to Rincon! Great area to camp!
To me, There is nothing quite as breathtaking as the Pacific ocean. It's so beautiful. Thanks for the ride along.
Central coast is a great place to live. Nice to see it through a visitors eyes.
Looks like a nice trip :) I grew up in Half Moon Bay, CA back when it was a small town that nobody knew it was there hardly. You’re right! I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Next thing you know I’ll be telling everyone my favorite fishing spot👍
It's ok it's already booked up we just showed up no problem great surfing I heard🧐

You at my home front in Ventura. It’s a marvelous part of the country for temperature’s and views if you like the moderate temps.
Hey,Hey, RVerTV Russ is taking to see ocean front camping. YEAH 👍

Like that bird's eye view. Left Pacific ocean vs right blooming coastal ridge. Gorgeous yellow flowers everywhere. Sort of natural painting 😊😊😊
Now those are some beautiful flower.
Great video, I love the drone shots. Cali Coast is beautiful. I'm enjoying my RVerTV coloring book. Safe travels, Russ.
We locals never say Cali. Just sayin.
beach parking prices are rediculous!! These parking spaces were paid by tax payers and should be free! Shame on the govt and their massive corruption, over spending and over taxing citizens.
Ithjnk they have to charge or people would permanently live there.

Thanks for another great video.. I miss California beaches ... Traveling up and down PCH.
Great place to camp beautiful scenery and probably gorgeous sunsets
We've camped there many times. I love it, my wife not so much. The "rin" in Rincon is soft, like Rin-tin-tin.
I visited Santa Barbara when I worked in Barstow Radio, told my friend their if there ever was an opening let me know. He did and I went to work for KTMS , and sometime later KDB ..too expensive a city to live in though , very nice video

What a great road trip Russ! Thank you for showing the flowers, different type of plants. Waiting for a whale jumping up and catching the bird. Looking forward to your future travel plans.
Thanks 4 showin', Russ! COOL!

Hi! Russ: I don't doubt there are seagulls along there. But the one you showed diving into the sea was a Pelican.
Try hwy 1 north.. along the coast ..awesome..

Thanks for Sharing. Im Home based About 30-minutes outside of Morro Bay, CA and the route to Rincon I know / recognize very well❤
What I don’t like is the dirty sand at the beach! Guess I’m spoiled because I was raised in Hawaii, where the sand is white as sugar and very fine! Still love visiting the beach! Thanks for sharing!
The ocean is pretty but I prefer the desert.
Should tell people you need reservations now for the last few years. Use to go there all the time. If you have a large rig it is hard to get parked. Ranger will give you a ticket if over any of the lines and watch for theft at night, a few people I know had generators stole.
We camped at Rincon parkway many times. Beautiful but vehicles traveling by at 55mph.127 sites. Faria also has non-hookup sites.
Russ you went past the best beach camp in that area Jalama. Put it on you list for next time.
You're coming my way!! Let's have lunch buddy?? Let me know when you make it to Long Beach..
Sure hope you have some good tunes going! George Strait is playing in the background here! Take care.
Always look forward to seeing your adventures. I think I passed you this morning on Stockton Hill Road. The RVer license plate caught my eye.
Love Rincon, been going for years, will be there in a few weeks..😊
Be safe out there, Russ!
the vortex generators on the rear side of your van are backwards
Amazing ocean trip!
Thanks Russ
I watched this video because the thumbnail said "Oceanfront Boondocking" however there was no FREE "boondocking" spots, only the PAY county and state campsites.
Awesome, thanks for sharing
that driftwood travels from philippines to usa
Great Video love scenery. How your ever figure out where you are planning to go this summer.
Great video, I would like to see the ocean someday,

Rincón is a Spanish word meaning a sort of small hidden corner.
$45 for one night is quite high, especially with no hookups!
thank you for video can you tell me how take the video when you drive iphone? camera? dash cam?
the sign says there must be an RV parked to occupy the site.
can you occupy a site with a TEARDROP trailer?
Hello good day Russ !! What type of dash cam are using ? Thanks Dan
RV parking (dry) at Rincon Parkway is $45 night + $8 reservation fee to Ventura Parks. Book a reservation online.
