Rockne was inspired by the Big House when he helped design the stadium. But he wanted fans closer to the field that's why the distance from sidelines and the stands is so small.
Thanks man! I’m a huge fan of college football and have been to 129 out of 130 FBS stadiums. Many of them I have featured on my channel, but some of them I visited before I ever started taking videos. The only stadium I haven’t been to is Hawaii. I’ve always loved that song, it’s been a favorite of mine for quite some time. Just a nice blend of multiple things working for it IMO. Honestly, many of the stadiums I have been to have simply been open to gain access. Others of them I had to arrange to see, some I’ve been to during games, practices or other events being held in them. You’d be surprised how many places have a way to gain access if you simply look at all options. There’s often one gate that literally opens the door for you to see inside. And I never abuse my privilege of getting access to these venues.

While I didn’t visit every stadium (which is incredible) I was a huge College football fan, watched religiously every Saturday in the fall. I began to lose some interest when they butchered the conferences. I like the playoff system and the sport needs one but I feel the BCS system was better for it. They basically fused them together. Again, my biggest issue was the dissolution of the Big East and the shiftiness that ensued. I still watch but not like I did prior to the changes. I know what you mean about just look and there’s usually a way... Nothing wrong w that at all. You’re taking pics not defacing property or stealing anything. Of course, one nut or two LOL here and there will have a problem with it, I’m sure. Really cool stuff bro!
I hear you man. I agree with you, I also didn’t like a lot of the movement among the conferences. And along with that, the increasing money and business aspects ongoing with college athletics has begun to sour my passion of them. I feel like collegiate athletics is walking on a very slippery slope right now. Unfortunately, I feel greed and money is going to take something I was and have been extremely passionate about l, and will start to turn me away from it. Ten years ago I would never have imagined that would be my mindset on it. Now, it’s looking like more and more of a reality. Fortunately I’ve seen many of these stadiums when I wasn’t thinking and looking at collegiate athletics through that scope.
@@ComeSeeWithMe I completely agree... 100 year traditions squandered to greed and nonsense. For examples: the Nebraska vs both Oklahoma and Texas rivalries ...not a thing every year anymore. The PAC 12 LOL. The big ten is my favorite and that has suffered with so many teams. You now have years going by where rivals don’t play, it’s just become a problem. And the constant rule changes every year didn’t help keep my interest. I hate to knock it but it was something I loved and now not so much. It is amazing that you’ve been to every stadium. What an awesome video that would make... even if you only have pics of some of them.
I also did the filming locations for the movie Rudy when I was in South Bend. I just finished editing it and uploaded it today. I was very surprised to see that no one had done the Rudy filming locations before in a video format. I came across a fan site with pictures but couldn’t track down anything for a video so decided I would go out there and do it.
