Sorry to hear that's how you feel about Tears of the Kingdom. I've kinda had the reverse happening for me. My first play through of BotW I came out thinking it was alright, but further play throughs made me love it more and more. So I'm going into TotK a lot more optimistically. Not to say you're wrong or something, not at all. In fact, my hope is that TotK fixes some of those things with BotW. (*cough* Dungeons. *cough*) but we will have to wait and see until they actually show more x3 which yeah, is a little frustrating but I feel like we're on the precipice of a big trailer or Zelda Direct.
Yeah so far it looks pretty good but we haven’t seen much of it with the story or gameplay so far, I kinda got the feeling the game is hiding a very big secret or may not even be that great especially with the map being mainly the same from the looks of it. I do think the game is in good hands tho it should be fun at the very least.

Hey Snugboy, idk if you've played any game of the pikmin series but this year, pikmin 4 comes out and i HIGHLY recommend you to play any of the three main pikmin titles if you haven't yet. Amazing video as always btw

As a big Resident evil fan, I'm happy that hey are still keeping/adding some campy lines to the remake, RE4R is definitely the game I'm most excited for this year. PLUS YOU CAN STILL ROUNDHOUSE KICK ZOMBIES BAAAABBBYYY, I just want to play this game badly

I am optimistic for Tears of the Kingdom. I'm not one for enjoying open world games that havemassive empty gaps in the map like Fallout/Elder Scrolls, but BOTW really clicked for me, so much that I played an emulated version on my cheap PC back when it came out at like sub 20fps until i beat all divine beasts, and then played it all the way through to the end again when I got my switch a year later. I still boot it up every now and then to run around and do stuff. Beat a few shrines, fight some lionels, and then shut it off again for another few months. It's a good time.
Hoping for some Silent Hill updates this year, find out if any of the games that are in development will be out soon. Cautiously optimistic for the SH2 remake, Bloober Team could fuck it up quickly.
In terms of Movies and TV, I enjoyed the first episode of TLOU so keen to see how it shapes up, and Dune Chapter 2 should be the best movie of the year.
OH FUCK DOCTOR WHO THATS RIGHT. I wish that Chris Eccleston would come back but that's a long shot. RTD has put out the idea that he wants to do Doctor Who spinoffs. If he does, get Paul Mcgann in for a full 12 episode season. He's proven many times that he'd be down for returning, so just give him a full season covering between the TV Movie (that is honestly better than people say it is) and the reboot. Maybe show the start of the time war?? Who knows
Also Heartstopper Season 2 lets fucking go. So keen to see stuff from Vol 3 and 4 get adapted, such as the Paris trip and TAO AND ELLE GETTING TOGETHER
Still want more news about the Scott Pilgrim animated series. If it actually happens (ie netflix doesn't do a them and cancel it), then 11 year old me will be living his best life, getting to see the graphic novel only stuff getting adapted. Scott and Ramona living with eachother, scott working at the vegan restaurant, the Beach trip. So pumped.
omg youtube user snugboy new video !! happy 2023! in the spirit of HBO’s (surprisingly FANTASTIC) live action of the last of us, i’m super excited for its steam release in march since i only ever got to watch playthroughs of the original game and i can’t wait to finally play it myself! and i think jujutsu kaisen’s new season comes out this year too so there’s that!
I'm actually just FINALLY playing BOTW with unbreakable weapon mod and I'm genuinely loving it. I agree the open world is gorgeous but leaves me wanting and I want classic dungeons back but I'm loving it so far
We have very different opinions (I loved BotW, looking forward to TotK, enjoyed XC: Future Connected, felt the changes to FF7 were more interesting than a straight reboot, etc) but I'm glad we can both be excited for 2023 regardless 😁
I am very excited for a game called Sea of Stars that's been developed since 2018. Made by the Developers of the Messenger (for the love of god Snug, just play it already)
It's the first game I ever pre-ordered and it looks like it's gonna be a nice game. I trust Sabotage, the music is sooooo nice, and the artstyle makes this 16bit world very pretty.
Also after finishing Dragon Quest 11, I became absolutely hooked on RPG'S. In any way, after being pushed back multiple times, it looks like development will be finished this year, and I can't wait.
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is the main thing I'm looking forward to.
Agreed BOTW but it wasn't so much the spark dying after the first time and more the first six hours. I've grown to really dislike the over-focus on pure freedom and exploration in games like this. I've dropped Pokemon because of it, I'm ready to drop Zelda and I'm while there were parts of Sonic Frontiers I liked, whole "explore the sandbox and do micro-puzzles or whatever" stuff got old when both BOTW and Mario Odyssey did it.
I'm excited for the last volume of the twilight princess manga to come out in English this April

It's crazy how BOTW2 has taken the same amount if not more time than wholly original Zelda games like Windbreaker, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. For a game reusing assets it's a bit wild, hopefully it'll turn out good but I agree with you in wanting a new interpretation of Hyrule
Its not crazy at all when games are getting way bigger and need more time. Its just how tripple aaa game work making a windwaker now would be considered only an AA game not a AAA game.
@@xeibei4804 even if Tears of the Kingdom is somehow larger than Botw it's still an asset flip. Nothing about the game will be original, it would be better if they had just created a brand new game imo

IN. before the inevidble "god these games sucked for 2023 barely anything decent again., the best game was a 99 cent pixel game again for 2023", for the December video.
I think we will be surprised on totk. It does look like just a big dlc, but to be fair we haven’t even seen the trailer of the game, and if nintendo listened about all the problems with breath of the wild, I’m sure tears of the kingdom will be better.
(Obviously not as good as twilight princess that is)

Final someone who agrees with me destiny 2 is so boring! I also feel the same way about tears of the kingdom. I recently got a pc, and being able to emulate the the game was cool at first, but I quickly got bored, because outside of playing it as a handheld game on the switch, the charm for me quickly faded away. Which is a shame because it used to be my favorite game. I really hope that they are able to add enough in the sequel to make revisiting the same Hyrule great. But with the switches ageing hardware holding it back, I highly doubt it. ALSO COMMUNITY MOVIE!

I understand your perspective on BotW, but I still think the game is great for what it is. It is far, far away from being a perfect (or even one of the best) Zelda games. But in context of Tears of the Kingdom, I really have the courage to believe in the producers' abilities to combine the new engine, the new world and the new general style of BotW with the strengths of the old Zelda games. I even think the only important thing for Nintendo is to listen to the community. And if they're smart enough to recognize the wishes and desires fans have, this can become something really great! However, hopefully they will bring a Zelda specific Direct in the next few weeks or months and show lots of gameplay or game footage. We'll see I guess

I'm hoping botw was like a prototype for the new style and tears of the kingdom will give us a proper story and dungeons and a hookshot if we're lucky lol. Cause I dread the idea of running around doing the equivalent of shrine hunting for the bulk of the game again. 120 was enough no more plz Q.Q

Happy 2023! I’m surprisingly excited for the Mario movie too, really interested to see how they animate the world of Mario, and get to hear Charlie Day as Luigi 😋
I personally think TOTK will def focus more on narrative and dungeons than BOTW. The zelda team usually has a pretty good track record of fixing what people complained about in the previous title (like the style switch from WW to TP), and considering that those were the two major complaints, I think there's a good shot that we're in for a more story based experience. Especially since the only things we've seen of the game so far are story elements in the teasers, though I agree that I wish we had a bit more. Also BOTW was basically all about the exploration, which I can't really see them doubling down on since we've already sniffed out every corner of this Hyrule. Either way, I'm with you on wanting a bit more meat in the story department o7
