    It's so true that a hunt is a mental and emotional roller coaster. Each day and each opportunity (or lack thereof) that goes by can wear you down until on that last day you're just ready to take any deer with antlers and a pulse. Not bad at all, and a great experience.

    Love to see hunters helping hunters. We’re always too protective of our hidey holes. There’s this mentality that other hunters are the enemy on the woods. Hope you sent them towards that bull.

    Great video as always showing all aspects of the journey. That is what makes hunting great is the JOURNEY and those that you get to share it with. Just like Brandon said, harvesting a buck is just icing on the cake and what makes the hunt even more memorable. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to getting a high country buck of my own again in the high country in less than 30 days.

    Some guys would say why kill a deer that may not be the biggest on the mountain, and to those gentlemen I’d say this: the total inches of antler taken is not representative of the quality of hunt or the sole end state as to even hunt. Too often people get tied up on that notion and miss the more important aspects of hunting. Not you guys, though. A great hunt and a great animal to commemorate it!

  • @ravenfeather7087
    @ravenfeather7087 6 лет назад

    Peanuts, M& Ms, almonds, cashews, cranberries, sunflower seeds (all salty), a dozen of those big Snickers bars unwrapped and cut into 2 inch pieces and a dozen home-made chocolate chip cookies crumbled into chunks. Throw it into a zip lock bag and you got some trail mix. And a couple of apples. Keep the apples separate. Or, you can cut the apples into pieces, drizzle the pieces with honey and chocolate and maple syrup and then sprinkle on a little brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. And a couple of Georgia peaches sliced up. Throw it all in a bag and shake it up. Better do two bags.

    What made you Guys choose those basins to begin with? Was it e scouting or boots to the ground. Just trying to learn what to look for when finding an area.

    • @GOHUNT
      @GOHUNT  6 лет назад

      It was both e-scouting and boots on the ground. When e-scouting we focus on three things, food, water, and cover for bedding. We like to key on good green basins first then dive in from there. It also helped that we've been in that area before so we had a decent idea on what to expect. If you find the groceries you'll find the deer.

    When was this filmed?
    The middle of September on the west slope of the Big Horns. Had hunted three or four days with the temperatures in the seventies during the day. Hot and dry. And we'd been busting our asses. Laid an old quilt down on the dry cacti/sagey/dusty ground. Heated up about three gallons of water in my huge old white enamel coffee pot. Got out the shampoo. Stripped naked and took a bath in the middle of the west side of the Big Horns sage plains that run from about 6K feet to 8K feet. Could see about 10 - 15 miles to the east and see Cloud Peak and about 150 miles to the west I could see the Bridger Tetons and look down on the entire Big Horn Basin. Standing there naked in the Wyoming sun and wind. Don't knock it, man. It'll get you to a different place in your mind.

    Your free spirited incident reminds me of fly fishing for striped bass on one of the beaches south of San Francisco. A buddy and I were on the beach and we were having a pretty epic day of fishing. we were moving to another rip current down the beach and I looked up at the base of the cliff at a pile of driftwood and about 200 yards away there were three dudes going at each other and another dude filming it LOL, then we looked around some more and the beach was littered with naked dudes ... Apparently we had stumbled on to the gay nude beach lol. Whatever floats your boat I guess ... the fishing was good so we just ignored it. lmao.
