This is one of the few games that you just get so immersed you forget about everything. It never gets old. My only concern is the graphics could be a little better especially when zooming in.
Yes. if you watch the opening cinematic, he survives for something like 2000 years then dies during the battle for britain. His daughter is then seen lovingly looking at a picture of him before she launches off into space. Verdict? Sean Bean is so cursed he can't even survive an opening cinematic trailer for a video game.
I have played about 30 hours and am still learning new things. Amazing game. Honestly can't imagine how good this will be with a few dlc packs and patches. Literally could be a perfect game.
I've never played this game, but Sogno Di Volare (the song starting in this video) and Baba Yetu both have to be considered some of the best pieces of music in gaming.

Lots of 9+ given out right now and it's not even November. I think 2016 will be remembered as a unique year for games, from No Man's Sky to Battlefield 1.
when i first tried Civ 6 i got wiped withing 20 turns due to how aggressive the french lady was and the massive number of warriors she had. Ever since i have been far more on defensive because the AI will always try to kill me and i dont trust Gandhi with nukes. So far every game i have played ends up in conquest domination expect 1 where i had 4 times the Resources and science that the next 5 civs combined. I got curius and wondered why this, well turns out all of the world except my continent was a giant dessert, and i build the Petra before them. Never seen a world like that before.
My question is, as a first time player of Civ (I dont't actually own Civ yet) I was wondering if I should get Civ 5 or Civ 6? After watching videos on both but Civ6 looks a little more complex to me but I still cant make the choice.
Give Civ V a go! I've recently started playing it again during isolation and it holds up well despite being and older game. It's cheaper now and it'll give you a feel for the mechanics without overwhelming you :)
It's my doubt too... but I take the risk, watch some guides on youtube, watch some pro games and try to lower difficulty and the game is simply gorgeous! very recommended jump into it !
The song is the intro/ main menu song, Sogno di Volare (translates to 'The Dream of Flight'), written by the composer Christopher Tin. He wrote Baba Yetu for civ 4 as well, the only video game some to win a grammy up till now.
My all-time favorite strategy game. I've been hooked since I first got it as a kid on Super Nintendo over 20 years ago. Have played every single Civ since (except the offshoots like Andromeda and Beyond Earth). To me Civ 6 got it right. Civ 4 got some things right, however Civ 5 was the biggest change that got some things right but also removed a lot of the good from Civ 4. My biggest pet peeve about Civ 5 was that you couldn't bomb improvements and structures like you could in Civ 4. They fixed this in Civ 6.
Looks amazing! I have never played a game like that, i remeber played Caesar a long time ago, but this looks a little bit more complex. haha. Its easy to learn? :)
Yeah! I have a review of the game up which is very helpful for new players maybe check it out if you're still interested in the game. But yea you choose a time period, a civilization, and decide the type of leader you want to be. There are many ways to win it's a lot of fun
I've always been interested in the Civilization games... I've just never taken the leap because it looks like a very steep learning curve. If I've never played any of them before...would it be logical for me to start with this one?
despite being addictive and good as hell, the time flies firing the gameplay, mostly because of the waiting on almost every action and the big time waiting between each civs turns...maybe theres a way to accelerate those things but i am not aware of it yet
did he even mention the district system? i find it abit messy compared to civ v. but its a good game for sure. but a 9.4? laso, i think the city states were more relevant in civ 5. (after the expansions i guess)
I disagree, each city state gives a unique bonus, meaning that the best ones are sought after. Also, envoys and diplomacy is required to boost relations, so players can't just spam gold to become allied with everybody.

I feel Civ6 ramps up slowly compared to Civ5. Even after 50 turns of gameplay I dont see myself building a world wonder and have barely built a second city. But seeing this video, one can make gigantic civilizations within 250 turns like civ 5. I guess I just have to explore more.
This game is great! First Strategy game and all other games have taken a back seat. Easy on eyes and brain, hours fly so fast you can easy waste a whole day trying to decide a route in tech tree. Damn, my people are starving!
i feel like this game needs more players to review it fairly. so many tactics and both new and old players it all depends om the person even within civ games. sseems like religion tactic players are really put aside.
Civilization is difficult to go back to after playing Crusader Kings 2. It also makes me chuckle a little when the reviewer claims that Civ 6 is almost overwhelming in its systems. Far from it, they're just not as well streamlined. A gigantic number of systems with many many different options is a good description of Crusader Kings 2, but they're well organized so it's not overwhelming. Civ has become more like baby's first strategy game, by comparison. Part of the benefit of CK2 is that it is far richer in history, instead of 3-12 Empires on the map, there might be hundreds. Instead of one player having a few diplomatic relations, you might have dozens of vassals who in turn have dozens of vassals, and dozens of wars going on. There's also a wide variance in gameplay options by culture, religion, rank, and even gender. There are not a dozen or fewer characters in the game, but thousands. You may even have a few hundred in your capital alone, and your capital may not be your own Empire's imperial capital, you can play as the vassal of another; and if you wanted, you could even conspire and use your agents to overthrow your Emperor, and perhaps even install yourself in his place. there are nomadic civilizations like the Mongols, feudal civilizations like most of Europe, tribal civilizations like the North Germanic, Baltic, and Slavic peoples, Merchant republics like the Venetians, even classical Roman Imperialism. Don't let the name "Crusader" in the title fool you, the crusades are a very small part of the game, it's a strategy simulator that spans from Charlemagne in the 700s to Christopher Columbus in the late 15th century. Crusader Kings 2 is currently the best strategy game, and during the summer sale, you should be able to get it and all of its numerous expansions and DLCs for around 35 Euros.
Hi guys, I really want to try out civ games, and I was wondering if I should get civ 5 or civ 6, and could you please give some differences between the two games.
Jude Quinn If you've never played a 4X game before, or even a computer strategy game, I'd say start with civ 5. It's cheaper and arguably easier to learn, so it'll give you a good taste before you drop 60 bucks. But civ 6 is definitely worth it!
In retrospect if they just made the ai be more coordinated in attacking a single city at once and converting one city with religion at a time this would be a lot better
Not easily. That computer will be able to play the game, barely. He might start out the game with fps in the teens. After 200 turns (mid game) you are looking at fps in the single digits and some of the late game saves might not even load. I would say late game his computer would struggle. Btw, some Skylake i7's are dual core cpu's not quad core so they won't do that well on Civ6 esp late game. Like the i7 6500u... its a dual core chip.
Hey guys , I'm a bit new to this series? I heard this game is turn based, but I prefer real time based like age of empires. would I like this game? if yes, then which civ should I buy firs
It's not that the AI is too hard. If any it is too easy because no matter how many units they have they keep sending them in likes lambs to the slaughter. I think the reason it didn't get a 10 is because one of the victory conditions, religious victory is dull as all hell with no more then 3 units to choose from and no real incentive to use that instead of military.
Ign: every AAA title gets a 9 or 10 out of 10. Not sure why he praised the Agenda system, I and many others believe it sounds good on paper, but its not practical for facilitating fun. He said the AI can be unpredictable and can declare war on you unprovoked. This makes the AI bad...I mean in a bad way. If you play on prince(which is only standard difficulty) you have no hope of becoming friends with any of the AI , you can forget about alliances. Everyone will hate you no matter what you do to make another civ happy. The game looks pretty and sounds good, but I give it a 6.5 out of 10 because of the AI and the bugs and exploits in the game. I'm sure firaxis will fix this though in time. Until then I would hold off.

Verdict? Sean Bean is so cursed he can't even survive an opening cinematic trailer for a video game.
No, but the space victory is the prequel to "The Martian". You go to mars in this game and Sean Bean narrates...
