As a Zambian, truly love the coming together of people from different traditions etc. Beautiful to behold, especially the fusion of songs.
Let me explain some things to assist viewers.
The Zambian bride did what is known as a kitchen party (Zambian traditional version of a bridal shower). It’s a women’s event and the groom’s family are invited. The unveiling is done by the groom and his family.
The rolling and clapping of hands on either side is a sign of respect. This is done by certain tribes in the country.
The gifts brought are the ‘Mother’s basket - what was tied in the material’ and extra gifts. This is like a starter pack in starting their home. When you have a kitchen party, your mother does gift you items from her and the rest of the mothers (aunts, friends).
May God bless their union.
The song the bride’s family came in with is:
Iseni Mutambe - Chile One Mr Zambia.
The first lyrics he is singing means:
God I’m grateful/thankful. Look at the blessings you have given me. No one can take them away from me.
Love from Zambia 🇿🇲♥️
Beautiful wedding
They were evening gowns instead of wedding dresses! Wedding dresses are white or ivory not colorful fancy dtesses
This is a traditional wedding.
@@enowagbor4044 NO it isnt!! The way you all do things, its just a party!! And it doesnt make sense!!!!
Wedding dresses are different from culture to culture. The white dress trend only started in the 1800s with Queen Victoria.
@@gemjewelle2687 thank you for the history lesson i already know that!!! Like i said colored dresses are evening dresses not wedding dresses!!!
@@gemjewelle2687 white or ivory stands for purity!!! Thats why i made the statement anyway!! What happened to that tradition?!
