    Good video. I completed my build and test fed rounds and had both feeding and extracting issues. Casings were getting marred up really bad too. I replaced standard carbine buffer spring with an HD spring and then got a 50 beo magazine. The spring helped quite a bit. The 50 beo mag was terrible. P-mags worked better. The finishing touch as was taking the small hobby file to the extractor and then buffing as you mentioned. Worked great. Feeds excellent. Thanks for the tip!

    What's also fun is; if you happen to be in a ban state, standard 5.56 mags are 10 round Beowulf mags.

    • @blueeyeddevil1

    • @blueeyeddevil1
      @blueeyeddevil1 5 месяцев назад

      @@StuninRub Not true. Maximum round capacity is what determines what is banned and what is not banned. The number of rounds one has isn't regulated ( if it were, you wouldn't be allowed to own more than one box of ammo), the magazine maximum capacity is. In states like California, 30-round (standard) magazines are banned, period. Mere possession of even an EMPTY such magazine means potential legal consequences (unless the mag has a round limiter, in which case it can hardly be considered "standard"). You can put 5 rounds, 10 rounds, 29 rounds, 0 rounds, or whatever in a standard 30-round magazine in such states and you are still breaking state law because you possess a magazine designed to hold more rounds than what is considered legal. If round count were the metric as you incorrectly contend, then someone with three fully loaded 10-round magazines (round count = 30) or two or more boxes of ammo (round count 40+) would be in the wrong. This is demonstrably not the case.

      @@blueeyeddevil1 Sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about. The 10 round Beowulf magazine is a 10 round magazine and will not fit more then 10 rounds. It just so happens you can fit 30 rounds of 556 into it.

      I just got the Side charging BC 12.7x 42 (.50 Beowulf) and I am using the Alexander Arms Mags made for it and I am still having jamming and feed issues. It ejects fine but the next round gets pinned between the bolt and the feed ramp. It is like it is short stroking. I still need to play more with different buffers and springs and I think that may fix it. Nor sure the extractor is the issue in my case. the shells eject every time at about 4 o'clock as they should. It just does not always allow the next round to enter the chamber.

    I have a Alexander Precision upper with tank brake with 325 penetrator recoil is like a 20 ga birdshot. With the EOTECH with multiplier,5X accurate and quick. Surprisingly lite weight with large barrel huge brake. Not fun for shooter in next lane but a ball to shoot and softer recoil than 308 AR-10.Timney trigger and concrete blocks for targets awesome fun surprise how accurate too. Similar caliber ARs I hear lot of negatives about 50 Beowulf. Think it's heavy bias on what caliber the negative talker owns...lol. Like Chevy vs Ford vs Chevy...lol. Low recoil for a hammer caliber and quarter of the weight of my Barrett 50. Leads to perfect tool for heavy stopping power that's friendly to the shooter. Only down side of you don't reload is in my choice 325 Penetrator is 2024 pricing think I saw about $4.24 a round aka $82.00+ for box of 20 rds. But when shooting a critter it's the best since I gave up shooting 300 gr hollow point in a 458 Winchester Magnum and yes it's still king but recoil is 5 times of Beowulf. This man's video is truthful and very cost smart. Same use and fun as my rifle but I have less recoil, better trigger and with EOTECH, upgrade stock...not better except if you have a fat head like me...wide one. My cost closer 6 or 7 yrs ago approx $ 2250 plus tax little shipping. But I would enjoyed shooting his setup and for hogs, coyotes, medium critter and cars just as much !!! Well Done and awesome invo...in short video without cost of brands I used. I went this route to help out at age 71 to have same trigger pull, rear stock, sights as other ARs I have for 200 yds or less speed shots. Funny 71 and speed. Old horse has less to learn when have the rifle is the same. Don't think I will try Thermal scope by using eye piece instead of Bluetooth w/phone...Thank you for sharing and hope others realize what a good rifle at a bargain you taught anyone to build. Plus I left out cost of the lower...excuse I buy 10 at a time if price and brand is right. So $2450+tax vs equal fun. I still had to assemble upper was complete. Thank you again !!!

    What size buffer weight do running with this beast?

    • @pewsandbrews
      @pewsandbrews  Год назад +2

      Just the standard buffer. It's designed to run with all standard AR15 buffer components

      If you read i believe i read that if you are running a rifle length A2 buffer tube and spring you are good to go but if you are running a carbine buffer tube with a collapsible stock they recommend using a H2 buffer i believe. But really it also depends on barrel length and gas system length. There are some really good videos here on RUclips explaining it all

    Is that a .223 follower in the mag?

      Yep, standard .223 mag.

    .50 Beowulf is plenty practical for me, I mostly do max 100 yard shots on hogs and deer so it'd work like a charm hahaha

      Yep, it's a stopper at those ranges for sure. In my state no semi auto's for hunting, so pumpkins and watermelons beware!

    Best bet is just going for the specific Beowulf Bolt that AA sells. I just put into a regular carrier and never had these issues.

    • @pewsandbrews
      @pewsandbrews  4 года назад +1

      True, and not everyone has a problem with the aftermarket bolts either, but if you do, this is a quick and east fix to try. Especially if the BCG came with the aftermarket upper.

    Did you make any changes to your magazine? Bought an upper from a builder and they said my feeding issues are magazine related. Do you think I should change my bolt and extractor or do the magazine adjustments?

    • @pewsandbrews
      @pewsandbrews  3 года назад

      No i didn't, the only thing I would suggest is make sure to use a good quality METAL mag. The polymer ones flex too much at the fee lips with the big round in it. I've been using the "Sure Feed mags from Okay industries" they are about the best out there. I'd try that first.

    Hey Mr. White, good video. Quick question, did you order a BCG with your .50 Beowulf upper or did you order the bolt from somewhere else? I'm currently in the process of making a .50 pistol and trying to finalize my upper cost.

    • @pewsandbrews
      @pewsandbrews  4 года назад +1

      I ordered it with the upper, but you can find just the bolt if you have an extra bcg sitting around.

      How’s that thing hanging in I just can’t get jiggy w BCA just low quality but good if u wanna throw something together for a car or truck gun that’ll go boom and have some caliber versatility but wouldn’t rlly trust one w my life especially in 50 pro2a or exotic ar-15 is the best imo

    50 beowulf is more like m14 recoil. It might kick as much as a 12 guage bird load. Didnt even seem like that much even.
    First time I shot mine which has only a flash hider, not a muzzle brake. I was all tensed up cause of all I heard. .... BS
    The gun doesn't kick that hard at all.

    • @pewsandbrews
      @pewsandbrews  3 года назад

      Yeah...about like a target load 12 Ga. It does have some pop with the 450 grain loads, but not bad.

    Why? Why would you choke that yummy hitting power down with that tank brake? I dont have any brakes on mine. I want all of that power going down range. Yea, you can feel it when you shoot. But then again, your smile from feeling that power will offset your sore shoulder. Get rid of that tank brake bro. The beowulf was designed to stop everything up to 200 yards. Vehicles, animals, whatever. Everything. Well, except hard armor. No tanks. No personel carriers... Lol...

      Muzzle brake doesn't reduce velocity, just felt recoil. The jury is still out on accuracy effects.
