- The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 2700 block of S Long Beach Ave at 3:39am. First arriving companies found a one story commercial with heavy fire showing.
Several additional task forces were requested to assist firefighters on scene and to have adequate members for a rapid intervention crew (RIC).
Firefighters used heavy streams from the ground and aerial ladders called "ladder pipes" to fight the fire from a defensive posture. Command 22 was known as "Long Beach IC" as Battalion 1 handled operations.
Through a well coordinated firefight with 144 firefighters on a scene knockdown was called after 1 hour and 48 minutes. The structure was a 21,711 square foot commercial building reportedly doing business as a women's clothing wholesaler.

It never ceases to amaze me how much water these large fires can swallow.
I am always amazed that even with all that water the fire just says "Ha! is that you got?".
Retired Fire Captain 30 years on the job and still love watching these great videos. Be safe Lads. NEVER FORGET 343
thank god for tower ladders and big lines used properly.
Good idea keeping the hedges wet, so the vehicles don't catch fire 🔥
Great footage good work from the LAFD unfortunately it is a loss business and property damage
Ya I’d say that truck is a little too close to the wall!! It give me the heeebe jeebees.
That’s what I was thinking 🤔. Narrow lane forces them to take a chance
Amazing footage.
Great job 👍
Great coverage. All l saw was LAFD equipment. Was mutual aid needed?
LAFD seems like they have a major fire every day
I was thinking the same thing and seams like alot started in homeless camps butted up to buildings. Is any one keeping track of these? Dose any one care?? The people of LA should because these companys are going to leave do to rising ins rates!!!
LA is becoming the west coast Detroit.
Excellent Catch great video 👍🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒🚒
Great job guys.. you keep us all safe. Thank you so much.
Incredible footage, Mr!
Great coverage. Thanks for sharing.
So where is LAFD’s new fancy robot firefighting rig? Could have sent it in that open loading bay door and put on a good show.
Damn that place is lit.
Up! 🚒🌊
Surround and Drown. Keep the exposures protected. Building & Contents are a total loss.
Awesome footage
What makesit worse is all of those clothes in there cardboard omg
and some clothing is not only in the cardboard box but many times the individual items are in plastic bags. people who have warehouses dont realize that just a building has fire sprinklers, their fire sprinkler system is not necessary designed to protect that type of commodity.
@@sw-xy2so so true and pile it high and dont let the sprinklers work like they should
Is it truly, ever, "Just a hedge?"
Yeah your video🔥💜🐾 is longer today ••
Can I use the water hose please
I'm not supposed to be on my feet
Why don't LAFD use tower ladders just asking . But those tiller ladders get the done .
ladder pipes are a joke, especially if they are unmanned and not hitting any active fire of fuel.
They prefer using tillers because of the narrow streets they have. I've been arguing with same situation for the longest.
@@truryderz82 Thank You for your answer.
@@michaelberry2442 I'm big fan with tillers. They need to switch to towers ladders
@@truryderz82 I would agree it would seem a lot better for the ladder crews I would think I live in Detroit we have only 2 but those babies really put out a lot of water per minute. I know NY swears by them & L.A has a lot of Hi- Rises .
big 👍👍to LAFD
Devil were prada store
Deck Guns and sticks with hoses......no buckets....not impressed!!
Do you really think buckets would have changed the outcome? I don't think so!
Aww just leave him alone, he’s just another keyboard firefighter playing on his moms puter. And knows nothing about real firefighting
Come on LAFD stop letting buildings burn down. Get back to old school fire fighting. Go get the fire. Master stream don't save buildings. If thats the case. 4 task force, surround and drown.
maybe it was too involved and the IC said defensive on arrival getting told nobody un accounted for inside
Somebody loss their business, and people loss their jobs. We are there to protect life and property.
There is no such thing as a typical fire. Conditions can rapidly deteriorate and put firefighters lives at risk. You can't just attack and think surround and drown will work in every circumstance. Assessment and understanding current fire conditions are important to take into consideration. And when it's a well involved structure a different strategy must be used. And protecting life and property around the fire is important especially if the fire is too well advanced and there is no hope of saving it.
Dude either you're ignorant or if not, simply you don't know anything about deep-seated fully involved taxpayer type fires?
@@aportman58 it's called Detroit. Businesses are taxpayers. Fighting fire is a science and once a noble profession. Volunteer and paid. People don't respect fire fighting anymore, because of this its just stuff mentality. Someone worked hard to try live the dream. Taxpayers, created the job. FIREFIGHTER. LIFE AND PROPERTY
