As an adjuster for insurance, I conduct thousands of investigations each year. Honking the horn isn’t even enough to absolve negligence in a small parking lot collision. Whether witnesses heard it or not. A safety recall isn’t enough to absolve negligence. A driver has duties owed when behind the wheel. Maintaining control of the vehicle, obeying traffic control devices, yielding, maintaining safe speed for conditions, maintaining a safe distance, etc. he breached every one. It caused damages to include property damage, and bodily harm resulting in death to multiple victims. The breached duties were the proximate cause of the damages. Not whether the horn activated or not. The negligence was gross and intentional as determined by the jury in this trial. His defense is one that exactly resembles an auto collision dispute. He has no idea this is about the criminality of his choice and actions.
Whether a horn was heard or not "which it was not" still does not excuse you from running people over ! Because you say you honked for them to move out of your way and they didn't move your actions are excusable! You are all types of entitled and sick 🤢

What a shame my condolences to the lost of lives and those that were injured as well as all in attendance during this time of celebration.
That's offensive to the Grinch...
Life in Prison isn’t enough for this sad excuse for a “human” . What is this world coming too 😓
Wow, the entitlement is off the charts. So because he honked they were supposed to do what? Stop the parade, move off the street? What?
The state has amazing attorneys 👏🏼 well done
I just heard he drove so fast body parts flew.. Is what they saying.. 👀 "" . prayers to the families an friends
The pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way, honking doesn't change anything.
Can we edit the title and remove allegedly? Since he's been found guilty.
Is it fair to say Mr Brooks you could use your horn and placed your foot down on the accelerator but refused to use your brake at any stage ...correction use your brake to fully stop
Oh no some cops have seen breaklights. Cause you know reducing the speed a little but not stopping and than accelerating again means he's totally innocent. In his eyes only
So he doesn't deny driving the vehicle. He doesn't deny that it wasn't properly blocked off. Case closed.
Blowing your horn and not stopping is not a defense. I thought Darrell could not hear good but he was the only one who could hear the horn. Liar.
put him in general population on a max security and let the inmates have their way with justice they are more creative anyways
I vote for the chair. A victim should have the right NOT to be questioned by the accused. A lawyer. Yes. I’ll vote to amend right now.
why does he even get a trial when he’s obviously in the wrong. and why does he get to defend himself cos he wasting hella time. just book him.
From the words of Abraham Lincoln: Any one that represents himself in a court of law,has a fool for a client ".
Sorry it was Ben Franklin that said that
@@jillvalentine6182 actually it was Abe Lincoln that said, " he who represents himself has a fool for a client." Look it up. 😑
Ben said it first
@@jillvalentine6182 okay, you win 😅
😬😂
There's no "allegedly" anymore.
Why isn't his questions stopped for irrelevance.
Lol he finally decided to wear a suit.
He literally said, “At that time did you see me …… a vehicle approaching”
This is so embarrassing. Why would he think representing himself would be something to be proud of? So cringeworthy
This dude just making a fool of himself
No, you ain’t sorry bro.
I don’t want to imagine the horror on those kids faces.
Why is he even allowed to have the opportunity to do this??? All he is doing is getting a kick out of the chance to play a lawyer. Freaking sickening...
This is why I don’t like going to public events anymore.
🤦♀️ so embarrassing
Let's see if I got this right. DB uses the old your-nose-just-got-in-the-way-of-my-fist defense to explain how hitting, injuring, or killing people with his SUV wasn't his fault.
Nope, not even close. The video to me actually shows this might be an uncontrollable accident and everyone has jumped the gun and convicted him. Probably before they pulled him out of the car.
@@TheM3TAL1 Yes but at the very least that would be wanton negligence of the highest order unless he had a reasonable lapse of consciousness - like a sudden heart attack or genuine fainting spell - or a demonstrable mechanical defect, which Brooks is yet to demonstrate. But it's obviously worse than that, because the prosecutors aren't just surmising this on a whim - they believe they have ample evidence to show this was intentional. Far out, even leaving the scene is illegal and incriminating. Are you really rooting for this guy?
@@fredbloggs8369 no my dude, I just don't know anything, just watched this 1 video. That's all my knowledge of this
@@fredbloggs8369 I did hear the horn so I wonder why he was beeping it?
@@TheM3TAL1 Who knows? I've tooted my horn for everything from avoiding an accident, to saying goodbye to friends to celebrating in the car when my team made the finals. He strikes me as incredibly narcissistic - maybe he just wanted the attention. But if he wanted to avoid the crowd, honking is somewhat ineffectual compared to - I don't know - applying the brakes?
I think he loves seeing these videos and photos of what he did. He gets a sick satisfaction out of all the terror he caused
He went through road blocks. This was no accident.
there is absolutely no horn honking in that video
Man this guy is a circus. Great job to the state, judge and witnesses.
Imagine your sextuple murder defense being "I honked" lmao
I cant understand why he thinks he would get himself off such a hedious act!!
Never uses manners with pause/resume! Just barks an order to get what he wants
1:53
"At that time did you see me approaching"
Really Google? Play two ads. Shows your just on the level as Darrell brook
That's his defense? "I honked my horn" ...so, it's the victims fault.. wow.
blaming people who are in a parade that has closed streets meaning you can drive there he has no remorse whatsoever I hope he rots in jail.
If he knew that the vehicle was honking, then he was there. Moreover, if he was honking, he knew there were people in front of him and still he kept driving.
Rip to those poor souls.😕
The guy on the radio acknowledges he hears the car honking. You won't hear the faint noise of the horn over the radio from that far.
He screwed up bad during the questioning of one of the cops. At 1:55 he said, “at that time did you see me um the vehicle approaching”?
I didn’t hear him say “me.” Sounded like he said “a vehicle approaching.”
he acts like him honking the horn is the gonna win him this case lol
He's so narcissistic he's implying that he was warning ppl to get out of his way because he was honking his horn. He even whines in court "It's not fair!," Not fair??? If he'd stayed away from the parade that day, that would have been fair.
Why do we make a mockery of the justice system by letting defendants represent themselves... its embarrassing and uncomfortable to watch honestly
This is disgusting... I'm so sorry for the families Hurt but this foolishness!!
How does he think he's innocent?? When he saw that he was going 2 run even 1 person down he should have stopped immediately..there is absolutely no excuse in the world that says its okay 2 use your vehicle to run right over top of innocent people..ZERO reason that what he done was okay.
Such a circus 🎪! I feel for all those in the stand, for the victim’S families, for the judge! I can’t understand why this humiliating circus 🤡 is allow. The law system you 🇺🇸 are so proud of, is ridiculous
He is ashamed to be seen
He never should have gotten the driving licence.
This truly is unbelievably remarkable, what a monster
The cop in the video talking is literally saying “there is a car going north bound blowing his horn” lol
He say's at that time did you see me approaching lol 1:54
All those ppl walking! I didn’t notice that at all I’m so enthralled with everything else!! He drove thru those lil ppl and the fukn bandddd omg how didn’t I place myself there to feel this I been so stuck on this 😢 this is the stuff of nightmares
I think that this guy should not be allowed to 'pretend play' as if he is an attorney. He should have been given an attorney that actually knows law and procedure. His ridiculous and repetitive attempts at creating non-founded arguments are (i think) a lack of respect to the victims and seemingly, a travesty of law, though I know its legal, but still...
He must be one of them new kind of fools. Smh
Whether a horn was heard or not "which it was not" still does not excuse you from running people over ! Because you say you honked for them to move out of your way and they didn't move your actions are excusable! You are all types of entitled and sick 🤢
Why was he honking as he should have been stopped or slowed down, he was maybe angry people were on the road.
What does it matter that he honked his horn!! There's a whole parade going on! Besides that he was enraged and killed people bottom line! Go straight to jail for not pass go!!
What an absolute horrendous excuse for a human! Surely they will not tolerate his disgusting behaviour in court. Judeg darow must have the patience of a saint! I hope this dispicable creature goes to jail for ever..
Somebody might have been honking, but it wasn't the one who shall not be named.
Beautiful judge, he is getting off watching his rampage.
