  • These two parts are priceless in my opinion. I couldn't be happier with the overall performance, reliability and peace of mind that together they provide. I would never build a bike without these two must have upgrades.

I have been on this kick lately about chain tensioners..and you have it right..this is the way I have mine set up..spring loaded off the clutch cover, (away from rear wheel) plus changing out the plastic guide wheel with a metal sprocket..way to go..great setup and build

I will agree 100% I have both on my bike plus a # 41 chain never a problem when installed right guaranteed. Been on mine from day one lots of off road rideing never thrown a chain. Bike peddels almost as easy as without motor. Makes your bike solid youll truly enjoy.

Great advise! I also replaced my wimpy back rim with a weinmann d30 heavy duty rim! $75. Much stronger wheel. Heavy duty spokes! Happy trails all!

Nice video... I did end up ruining a back wheel when the chain tension-er ended up in my spokes on my first build.

Hey man, I used to build these things for sale and I completely agree with you 100%. In addition I also would get completely aluminum throttle with rubber grip since the stock ones have broken for me many times.

Very good idea getting a different tensioner. I have had mine rip several spokes out but I can't afford to get a different one.

Wow that idler pulley is the Original junk Idler, that has very high chance of snapping a chain. I have the newer idler but it's still snapping chains, I'm going to upgrade to the HT Spring Idler like yours that chain looks flawless.

Lol I did have the problem with the tensioner going towards my wheel but after I tightened it up more it went better but I'm also still using rag joints but I just ordered the adapter and new tensioner can't wait for them to come thru

Spring tensioner would be the ideal solution, but I used the stock one. I put a rivet in it to keep it from falling into the spokes. I did the same with the coil and tank to keep them still. Very cheap upgrades!
