E E in my opinion, the best thing that could've happened is that she didn't win. Had she won, she would be unable to pick her own manager. If he's still a part of American Idol Clive Davis would be in control of her career for 7 years to do what he wanted. Those that win , with a couple of exceptions, fall out of the public eye until they're contract with him is over. Carrie Underwood and kellie Clarkson are the olnly ones that have won and really made it. As soon as LaPortia was voted off, she was signed to Motown. She released an album soon after. Those that don't win seen to do better than the ones that do win. Thats my opinion though.
