@squonto47 I think all of this 40°F rain today will flush away the ice. I even saw a worm on the sidewalk this morning. TRDs shall be casted on my lunch break today!!!🎣
Thanks Matt ,That purple has worked for me since the manns jelly worms in the 80"s great color.Kinda wish it didnt get so much attention the past couple of years.lol.Also your underspin is top top quality.
Great video as always, but you need to add the Salmo Slick Shad to your cold water swimbait lineup. We destroy the smallies up near Chicago on them all year, but especially in cold water.
Love the Tactical Mini A rig. The baitfish in my local lake are small and that rig works perfect. I rig it with 1/8 oz Matt Allen heads and 3.3 Keitech Fat Swing Impact for both dummies and hooks. The bass love it!
Yeah man my favorite color jig this time of year is a version of a pb&j or a green pumpkin purple unless ive caught a few thats puked up crawfish or if i see pinchers hanging out their throat then a pumpkin orange or Alabama craw color is the ticket but i always start with a bait with some purple in it pretty much all year and fine tune throughout the day.
I love the fact your powerfishing when it's cold! I wish we could throw slow down only when I have too.😅Matt theres guys in New England that catch their biggest fish on Wakebaits when there's snow on the ground.
Do you have to have hard bottom for a football jig to be effective? I’ve tried dragging one around without much success and most of the bottom where I fish is sand or mud. I’ve had more luck with a flipping/pitching style head near wood cover and docks. Also, the bodies of water I fish are very shallow and flat without any drop offs. I’m not sure if that’s a factor as to why the football jig doesn’t work for me.
That 7'5 heavy Zodias- besides A-rig, what else would you throw on that? How about 6" swimbaits like a Magdraft Freestyle? Swimbaits with belly-weighted hooks?
I know its a bfs bait. But when will the karashi make a top 5 video? I catch more fish on that bait than anything else in my boat. Love the content guys yall are the best!
speed cranking could you just throw a rof 16 hudd and burn it I've done it a couple times dead winter and fish hammer it not sure if you guys ever made a video like that
Idk why, but I've never had any luck with a jig. Fishing rivers and lakes in the southeastern part of NC. Every video talks about a jig, but I never get anything. It's probably something I'm doing.
@Gerryhazelton I caught one huge crappie on a chatter bait that's about it. My best luck with bass has been with a white fluke, pretty much any standard plastic worm, and a whopper plopper for my top water stuff. I think these videos are a conspiracy with the bait companies to keep us buying stuff 😆.
Man up here in idaho i struggle so much in winter. It hurts. I only have a good fishing kayak. . With not good electronics. And i have a very difficult time getting on them from shore because the points are on the opposite side of lake. Any thoughts? Thanks guys!
Bass guys, I know....but it would be awesome to see yall do a show with someone like Chris Bush from Speckled Truth using jerk baits to catch Trophy speckled Trout on the Texas coast.
@@PsychicPsychToad the vision 110 is just one of many jerk baits. Salinity changes in coast areas. That change affects the presentation of each lure. Specks change their depth often with the weather. 28, 30 inch trout are very picky with what they hit. Hence, the V 110 is only 1 of many.
Please help: Some of my treble hooks on my fishing lures are starting to rust. The crazy thing is that they are brand new and have never been in water. What is even crazier is that I have them in Flambeau Zerust tackle boxes that are less than a year old. Can anyone explain this please?
You got water in the box at some point. Either you put a wet lure in the box, you opened it in a very humid environment, or left it in the sun and condensation built up on the inside. Either way, that's a huge bummer and something we all work hard to avoid.
@@tacticalbassin seems like most videos I watch guys are east coast and fish in 20’ or less water . California lakes are not like that as you guys know.
I had the same thoughts but rebuilt a found A-rig last year. Finally took it out 2 wks ago, threw it on a 7'2" MH, and it flew very far. Didn't get anything because our fish moved to the deep chasing the recently stocked trout and I'm stuck on shore.
Yep, been hooking a ton of striper in the CA Delta throwing an A-rig from the bank. Using the normal Hog Farmer 5 blade mini flex rig (Sorry TB guys!) with 1/8oz heads, 3.8 main 2.8 teasers. 7'6" MH Expride. For max distance I do prefer an overhead cast with quite a bit of line out.
If you want to catch bass right now and your area is too cold like where I live. Just come to Florida it's what I did and I landed peacock bass tarpon and other species in a time span of a few hours today. None of this nonsense of using top 5 baits top 2 baits this and that. Toss a hair jig and catch everything.
Watching these before school! I think this is the better version of learning…
Watching this in school right now...

@@alexandermamatsashvili3311 No phone policy in school or i would be too 😂
Watching this before work. I totally feel you!
I’m watching this in school as well. Got a tournament tomorrow so I’m just trying to prepare!
Won't be long until ice now here unfortunately time to start fishing my hot spring fed tiny lake
Caught my PB last weekend on a 1/2oz jig with a Sweet Beaver. Jig bite was on!
Skim ice kept me off my favorite spot yesterday even though our air Temps made it back to 50°F in the Chicago area.
Try the DPR. Whacked em there the last two days!

I caught a ton of 10in to 14in crappie on your tactical underspin this fall

I've been waiting on this top five video more detailed in last year
Great video as always, but you need to add the Salmo Slick Shad to your cold water swimbait lineup.

this is the vid i was waiting for !!!!
Please release the Matt Allen heads in some obnoxious colors. Chartreuse and red would be awesome!
Lost my first Tactical Mini A rig recently. The thing caught me a lot fish so you know I had to go out and get a couple more! Great Stuff Matt.
Love the Tactical Mini A rig. The baitfish in my local lake are small and that rig works perfect. I rig it with 1/8 oz Matt Allen heads and 3.3 Keitech Fat Swing Impact for both dummies and hooks. The bass love it!
Finally got me a pair of amber eye surrenders. Thanks guys
Brown/Orange jig w/purple highlights in the winter🤌🏻🤠
Off topic but would love for you guys to do a video on finding smallmouth in the heart of winter

The ned and neko have been working for me since the beginning of November.
Great video. Full of good information. 👍 on the purple.
Love your videos bud. I'm fishing upper western Washington state and it's cold! Lotta clear pressured waters.
Tight lines my friends.
Great info keep it coming!!
Whats in the package
Thank you, Matt!
Welcome back gentlemen! We meet again!
I just broke my numbers PB on a purple brown worm on a purple jighead ned rig. Over 40 fish in 2 hours.
Friday end tactical bassin knows
I love the fact your powerfishing when it's cold! I wish we could throw slow down only when I have too.😅Matt theres guys in New England that catch their biggest fish on Wakebaits when there's snow on the ground.
Wakebaiting in the freezing cold is so overlooked. It works!!

Try a short leadered DS or Jika rig or a free rig; a Tokyo rig if you have to cast far. Your baits may be getting lost in the mud-slime.

Would I use the double tail grub on a jig in the river during winter? I would imagine the current would be making those Tails constantly go crazy.
Idk why, but I've never had any luck with a jig. Fishing rivers and lakes in the southeastern part of NC. Every video talks about a jig, but I never get anything. It's probably something I'm doing.
That’s how ,I feel about the chatterbait . Jigs are easy cast let it sit usually on the fall the get it in my experience

@@Lance.West4 I’m in Rhode Island . Tried and true senko and whopper plopper , jigs with craw dads brown and megabass ahu spinnerbaits
What water temp range are we talking about here? I am in CT and it has been fairly warm for this time of year.
Do you guys ever use the line through swimbait heads? Always see you using normal heads and under spins. Just wondering your thoughts on them

Yeah, it's no secret that the Vison 110 is speckled trout magic. Everybody uses them.
We actually got into some big speckled trout in South Carolina the other day. What a fun species!

13:51 what was that about Mainestream!!!??? Lmao
It's impossible for my fish to get deep. Max depth in my main lake is around 6 feet.....?
How much of these baits apply to bank fishing?
What’s the deepest u guys would throw a Ned rig? The lakes I fish 30-40 feet in winter is that too deep?
30-40 is no problem. We've ned rigged as deep as 80 for Spotted Bass.
bro im still trying to figure out how to catch fish in November and we are already moving to the next chapter???!!

im pretty new to fishing. but does water temp effect fishing? like if its 30 degrees out?
Water Temps are everything when it comes to fishing. In super cold, you need to slow down, just as the fish are. Unless you're powerfishing
@@Iceman93x is there a specific water temp that is just prime fishing. Or just anything warm.
